Sailed the last 2 years on the Gem in a non Haven Suite. The Consierge Carlos treated us like gold both times.I think that each consierge is different, therefore each experience may be different. Booked next year in a regular balcony. Will be platinum and will still have co concierge service, but no Cagneys. Lets see how long we hold out without changing to a suite!:eek:

I was on the Gem the very end of May. They were starting some of the new menu items then. We thought that they were very good. One night I had steak and it was excellent. You must try tbe Nutella Pots de creme on chocolate night.

Thank you Suitetraveler. T he best that I have had is in the Suite Vip Elevation Lounge and in the Great Outdoors at night. There were red onions in it.

Appetizers in Orchids, pot pie in O'Sheehan, rack of lamb in dining room.....fruit everywhere. Oh, late evening food in the Great Outdoors. Always something good and different.

You had me for a second! I once made tuna salad from frozen tuna that I bought at Trader Joes. It was awesome. I know NCL uses red onions in it.

My search button won't work and I have googled this like crazy. Does anyone know how NCL makes their delicious tuna salad?

We actually picked this cruise for the extra day. The ship was our destination, the ports were an extra bonus. Besides, it gave us an extra day to see Mkalio, her family and the rest of our wonderful Roll Call.

I did miss some pages. Did I see that Dan Dan is back? He and Carlos made our cruise over the top wonderful last year.

M and Bring Chick, you crack me up. Since I will be staying in the T.V. with all of you I just wanted to let u know that a play a mean version of "chopsticks!" If I find someone to play too may I use the baby grand?:p

I wasnt thinking about a clamshell, but now it sounds like a great idea. Last year our chairs we tight together and they offered no privacy at all. Are the clamshell right on top of each other or is there a little space. Are they near the water?

I was on the SOS. I was excited a out the itinerary. It was just a lot. The days blended. Everything was very nice however NCL is my thing. Food entertainment, friendly crew.

Out of curiosity, is the Asian Restaurant in The Gem ever open for lunch?

This time together will be wonderful for you both.

Tell her not to worry about clothes. I am packing for my 6th Ncl cruise. I bring casual clothes for the most part. For dinner I might wear Capris with a nice shirt. I also have a few Travelers pieces from Chicos which are mix and match and do not wrinkle...they are very reasonable at consignment shops or ebay. The dinners are billed as dress up or not. I chose "not."

You two enjoy every moment. By the way the entertainment is very good.

Antmaril, I bet that that your friend says yes. Please keep us posted. After my husband also died from pancreatic cancer I too realized that an experience is much better than a gift wrapped box. I took my college roommate who is a two time breast cancer survivor on a cruise. I wanted to go and if I was paying the supplement I might as well pay a little more and take her. We had a wonderful time. She was not insulted at all when I asked her. It took her 5 seconds to say yes.

Glad she said yes and I bet your friend will too!

What kind of suite on NCL? I would take a 2 bedroom suite over 2 rooms unless if they were connected. Ncl knows how to treat suite guests.

What kind of suite on NCL. I love the suite life. The private dining room for breakfast and lunch were great. Very relaxed and quiet.

That's not weird food------just comfort food. I like ketchup on my mac & cheese. Maybe that's weird.

We had a very deep tub in our forward Penthouse on. The Gem. I slept very soundly.
