  1. Thank goodness that all of the desserts aren't fabulous. ..I would really roll off the ship. Some people. are expecting the Ritz even though we aren't paying those prices.

Some of my favorites: oatmeal raisin cookies-hands down the best ever

My friend had chocolate decadence in the main dining room and gave me a taste-mmm

    creme Brule

    chocolate croissant

on the Gem the ice cream in the buffet, especially coconut

    berries in Cagneys

I had something lemony in the Italian Restaurant that was wonderful

hope we have helped. There are truly some very good desserts!

  2. Possibly the extra fee for the suite passengers is for the staff at Cagneys (or wherever the suite guests eat). The breakfast and lunch service is truly exceptional. I usually tip them extra. I never mind the service fee. They deserve it.I if there weren't service fees, I am willing to bet that some folks wouldn't tip.

  3. I really shouldn't reply but of course I will. STOP!!! The o p asked a simple question and the old nickel and dime song gets replayed. If everything was no extra charge our cruise fare would be a lot more. I prefer to have the choice of what I want. If I want it that bad, I will pay extra for it. I have been on two other cruise lines and we still had to pay for extras. This is not exclusive to NCL.

  4. Unless I'm missing something here, you should go right ahead and book your nanny an inside. If you're aboard the Gem, there is no special Haven restaurant, or bar, just a small pool, hot tubs etc. You can bring your nanny any of the restaurants aboard ship, and pay a fee if necessary, its really no big deal. I'm guessing they'll require a Credit card for the nanny's inside room charges, just something to think about.

I suggest you contact the shore-side Concierge in Miami and prearrange an extra key card, and any other issues you can think of before boarding, and keep copies of emails confirming specific arrangements.;)

They are probably thinking of the perk of breakfast/lunch in Cagneys.

  5. Sue and Harriet,

Thank you so much for your ideas. I loved them.

We usually do drinks at sail away. Last time I got volunteers from several cabin categories to show us their cabins. That was a blast. We ended up in mine and snacks provided my the butler. Everyone hung out for an hour.

  6. I love everything. I usually stay in a balcony. I love reading on the balcony. Last May I got A great deal on a forward Penthouse under the bridge. Total heaven! We have booked the suite a few doors down for this coming May. It will be very hard leaving the suite life after this. Even though we didn't ask for much our concierge Carlos, Butler Jason and our wonderful steward Roberto kept us happy and pampered.

Love all the categories on Ncl, even the insides.

  7. You will have a great time! The ports are great. I have sailed NCL twice in Europe and loved it. The entertainment was great. I am a chef but pretty low m maintenance. The main diningroom food and the food in the other venues are fine. On. my 4 Ncl cruises I have done the Specialities maybe 9 times - very good. On my last Ncl cruise my friend and I stayed in a forward Penthouse Suite. The benefits are great. We even got to use their Dvds. I bet that the kids will love the butler and the snacks that they provide. I loved the concierge benefits. After our Meet and Greet I arranged a cabin crawl and we saw a 2 bedroom suite. ..wow!

We enjoyed the suite life so much that we re booked the same trip.

I have been on the other cruise lines and enjcoyed them however I keep on going back to Ncl. The crew always makes me feel so at home.

    Just enjoy every moment.
