  1. I've used Google maps for this. Shuttles (or cabs) should be available to get you into town and back.

    K-ETA

Thanks for finding that notice, clears up some confusion. Note that the exemption is for the K-ETA form, not visas (which are not required for those countries anyway).
  3. Right, we’ll be on the 2nd itinerary after the refit.
  4. We're using a car service to go from Haneda to Yokohama. The price was ~$65 when I booked it a few months ago. I found it on one of the booking sites. In the other direction (Yokohama to Tokyo), we'll take the train.
  5. Definitely good business. Okay with me. Maybe they'll use some of the profits to provide better and cheaper wifi.
  6. This looks like a smart move on the company's part. People might bid more than what they would accept for a fixed price upgrade offer; or they might bid on an upgrade when previously they'd have been happy with their original purchase. So either way, more revenues for the company. Customers will like it because they'll have more chances at upgrades. Popular upgrades may end up going for close to the rebooking fares, though.
  7. Hmm. I’d want to know a stateroom number before bidding.
  8. Akita sounds more interesting that I thought. We might catch the cherry blossoms there, too. Definitely worth wandering there. Thanks for your posts!
  9. Oh, I'm with you on that. The best travel is when you see and experience new things. I started a roll call. Would you mind posting your thoughts about some of the ports you've visited?
  10. It is! And no, no roll call that I can see. We're planning to be on our own except in Yatsushiro and Akita. If we can't catch a shuttle into town I'm assuming there will be taxis at the port, and we'll call an Uber if not.
  11. Thank you, @maybealexislost! I hadn't seen that information. Are you excited about the cruise? I am. We booked it originally for early 2020. I told Mr ALC that if we have to cancel it I will immediately find another, and he said it's my white whale. He's got a point.
  12. Sounds like the cruise we’ll be on. I can’t answer your question definitively but am very much assuming a shuttle to town will be available. Uber is another option.
  13. April 17. And you're right, I just checked - this is really specific to Japan and QE. I'll wait to hear back from Cunard.
  14. I don't see a roll call. Wondering if anyone who sailed recently under this requirement could say. I have a call into Cunard, too.
  15. Adding to my own post - we do have time in Yokohama the day before boarding to find a test station if needed.
  16. We are booked on a QE cruise in Japan next month that is on the enhanced requirements list. Specifically, "All guests regardless of age are required to take a self-administered Lateral Flow Test within 24 hours OR a PCR test within 48 hours of embarkation..." plus vaccination. We travel with our own tests and we planned to use them the day before we embark to satisfy the requirement. But a thread on another forum indicated that Japan could restrict port entries if covid cases exceed some threshold. So it seems that Cunard would reduce the risk of being turned away by requiring certified test results. Can anyone confirm that a self-administered home test result is acceptable?
  17. We uploaded vaccination records, though, per instructions on the quarantine page. Was that unnecessary? I am also preparing for the many-times rebooked 2020 cruise. Mr ALC calls it my white whale.
  18. Daylight savings time here AND officially spring, and snow forecast for Saturday night. Oof. It won't last long, though.
  19. What a great model! I love watching the pilot boats escort us in and out of a harbor. One boat I remember had a dog on board, who was clearly enjoying the breeze.
  20. I enjoy your garden updates. I imagine a verdant Utopia outside your windows. Good luck with the new trees and you are right to ditch the nursery.
  21. I guessed they could get to Heathrow around 9-10 am. Is the train in and out of London reliable? Making notes for the future....
  22. Oh, and we used Twelve Transfers (?) in October for Heathrow to Southampton and it worked very well.
  23. What about going to Heathrow early, leaving your luggage in a locker, and heading into London for a few hours?
