For similar historical reasons, ss Rotterdam is a very special place to stay.
I just looked at the hotel We're going on a cruise, so going from one cruise cabin (hotel) to another would be too much for us! But thank you!

And Globaliser did give you a good advice too. We (living near Rotterdam) would do it that way via Leiden (special bus to Keukenhof almost in front of the railway station). My car would not drive faster than 1 mile per hour near Keukenhof on a sunny day like today..... So: 5 minutes walk from ship/cruise terminal to Metro station, few minutes in metro to Rotterdam Centraal Station. train to Leiden etc. Absolutely check the links Globaliser gave you. You will enjoy Keukenhof, I am sure.
We will be in Rotterdam next year the third week in June. Will the tulips still be in bloom? Besides Hotel New York (which does sound nice) what other hotels would you recommend? What is the best area to stay near restaurants and shopping and places to see? We will be cruising from there.

I’d like to know if there are cabanas to rent on the symphony of the seas? I’d like to know where they are? We are at this moment on the Celebrity Apex and we are sorry we did not get a Cabana for a sea day. They are right next to the pool area so it’s very convenient. I almost remember, cabanas on an upper deck, not next to the pool, on the symphony, but I’m not sure. It could be another ship. They look like little tents, and there was no breeze that was able to come through. Could somebody please remind me if the symphony has cabanas and where they are located. And if you know that, do you know how much they are?

I am very surprised that my OBC for a September cruise will not be posted until I am onboard. This is the first time this has happened to me. I cannot reserve specialty dinners with my OBC and by the time I sail, the restaurants will all be booked. Have others experienced this with OBC?

Celebrity Website and log into your account.
I think their website is down. I cannot sign in. When I change my password, a big X appears on screen appearing and reappearing.

So, I just read about the Retreat amenities. NICE!

We bought a guarantee suite. And we were immediately put into a sky suite. So is that in any bar?
-
I’m gonna have to check out my invoice. This is a surprise. Can we get a drink anywhere or just at the retreat?

Happy Hour is all day in the Retreat lounge for suite guests.
I'm not sure I understand. Is there a bar in there? Do they have a free cocktail time period? Where is the Retreat Lounge? Thank you for your reply.
-
Is there a special happy hour for suite guests? On RCCL bigger ships, like the Symphony, there is a free cocktail venue between 5-7 in the Coastal Kitchen. Does the Celebrity Apex have something similar?
-
Is RCCL.com down? They aren’t accepting my signin and before I change my password, I thought I’d ask.

Will do, I am going to try to write a detailed description of all that happens. As to our current planning we have already booked our airfare, good thing too for several reasons. The flights I wanted were not to bounce around the US before we head to Sydney. So we only have one stop Lexington to Dallas, then Dallas (Qantas) to Sydney (15 hours 45 min) also there were only 4 seats left and only 2 together, that was 330 days out! I want the Dallas - Sydney Qantas flight in that currently they are using a Boeing 787-9, never been on one of those so it too would be exciting. But before COVID Qantas was using a A380 the big double decker plane, which was moth balled in Arizona during the COVID shut down. It is rumored Qantas is working on bringing those planes back in service and the Dallas to Sydney route will be one of the first routes to get one back. I also like planes as well as cruise ships.
You and my husband. He likes planes, public transportation and firetrucks and is a hobby photographer of all. We were in Lexington on a Tauck tour a few years ago. I LOVED the horse museum. We're in South Florida so we often cruise the Caribbean as we don't need a plane ride.

There is another airline called Jetstar that has the same roll on bag size limit of 22 x 14 x 9 and allows a ’small item’; such as a hand bag or thin laptop bag that must fit under the seat the total combined weigh for both bags is the 7kg (15 lbs) weight limit. But you can of course buy more weight up to 14kg (30 lbs).
LYBOB we’ve decided not to do this until 2025. I want a full report on your trip.

We did the Ultimate Australia land tour in January 2023 before getting on the Majestic Princess for an Australia and New Zealand cruise. It was fantastic.
A text above was concerned with the luggage. My carry-on is the size that is allowed on most American flights. Will that be allowed on these interior Australian flights? As we arrive at each airport, do we have to find our checked luggage individually or does Princess take care of it? How many people were on this journey with you? I’m so glad that you went on this. I may have many questions. I hope that you will be kind enough to respond.

I'm sorry I was not clear. Princess offers a cruisetour that includes land and cruise. We will not be doing any of this on our own!
1 hour ago, KYBOB said:As to the luggage the info provided
KYBOB - We've done the cruisetour of the East coast that includes D.C. all the way up to NYC where we got the ship to Canada/New England. This year in September we will be doing the Canadian cruisetour from Toronto to Quebec on land and then the ship to NYC (we love this itinerary. 6th time doing the cruise part!) I have to go back to the information. We've never had to fly from place to place, so I'm wondering about collecting our luggage. It actually makes sense that the individual would have to get the luggage off of the plane. On our journeys, Princess took care of the luggage.I''m looking at the measurements that you have given for our carry-ons. You're right!.Much smaller. That is a major concern. What date are you going? We would prefer going in February, but have never been on the Majestic. We have been on the Regal which is the same as the Royal. This year our cruisetour will be on the Caribbean.
-
I've many questions. Has anyone done this? How was the Australia land tour? Was there an excellent guide?
There are two ships - Princess Royal and Princess Majestic. I just read the Majestic was built for the "Chinese Market." Does that mean to cruise in china or does that mean for Chinese people? (If that's a stupid question, I'm sorry.)
Which ship would you suggest? Any info on this cruisetour would sure be helpful.

As far as individual customs, that will depend on port and if they are using facial recognition.
Does Ft. Lauderdale use facial recognition? I think they do.

On the day of embarking, is there a specialty restaurant open for lunch? Is the Luminae open for lunch for suite guests?
On the day of disembarking, what is the latest time to leave the ship and how long does customs usually take?
Thank you!

My girlfriend just got off of the Beyond and said the rock and roll dance band doesn't start until 10:30. In which venue are they? Is this the same for the Apex? What time do the production shows start?

We were also on this cruise and just canceled our upcoming Marina cruise. This was our first Oceania. I understand the change of itinerary. I don't understand why my TA did not advise me when i sent an email and I will discuss this with her. BUT, what really annoyed me about this trip was the lazy cruise director who provided no extra entertainment for the guests. Extra music and games, culinary experiences and lectures could easily have been arranged. Of our 41 cruises, this was our worst. Never again!

It is not self serve buffet
O staff serve you
Some will even carry your plate to the table
If worried go to Waves & order then they will bring the food to your table
On embarkation day, doesn't Waves have a long line? And is the Terrace crowded or easy to get a table? I find buffets difficult, especially with our carry-ons. And so, one of us goes at a time and it's just not fun. (This is our first time on O. On other ships we usually pay for a specialty lunch.)
-
Wow! That's interesting. Too bad. I use the bathrobe all the time, but my husband only uses it the last night to put our luggage in the hallway. None of the other cruise lines collect the bathrobes.
-
I looked online at the amenities for the suites and I did not see bathrobes listed. Could someone please tell me.

O asks that passengers do not go to their cabin until the announcement is made that their cabin-category is ready. While some passengers do this and claim the staff doesn't care, they do. Suites will be available earlier than the other cabins.
Lunch is served at the Terrace Cafe and at Waves. They are both quite nice and the mood is festive.
If you are in an owner's suite you may have lunch served in your room.
Have a fun cruise!
Thank you. I was getting our cruise ships confused. Please tell me if the Terrace Cafe has table service? I just looked at both and it looks like at Waves, you order at a counter or it's a buffet.
Unfair Sanctuary Practice

I am unfamiliar with the Sanctuary. It looks like it is completely enclosed like the Solariums on the RCCL and Celebrity ships. Is that accurate? Do people mingle up there or is it a quiet place?
