  1. And I was told by a "reliable" Floridian. To the OP...you will have lots of time to get to the airport, if you use UBER or Lyft.
  2. I have also found that international air fare is usually better with EZ Air, along with the benefits of the fare being flexible/changeable. Please keep in mind that: EZ Air does not turn the booking over to the airlines until it is ticketed, either at final payment or 45 days prior. You can still log in and do everything with the booked airlines. You can request early ticketing, but that will lock in your fare. Often times, EZ Air has no control of the airlines making changes to equipment or schedules. I often have a flight changed due to the airlines making these adjustment. Be diligent and keep a watchful eye on your account. It will have big red letters if there are changes. Sometimes, they send you/TA a notice. EZ Air will work with you. Just be patient. It takes them time. To be on the safe side, I would book an overnight stay incoming. This time I have days booked at both ends.
  3. Your best bet is to take your bag to the garage (one level below the street). There will be porters there to collect your bag. If you are being dropped off by a car service (uber/lyft/taxi), be sure to have them drive down into the garage. Most will want to drop you off in the front of Canada Place (Pan Pacific Hotel).
  4. Lucky you! Enjoy. Hard to go back to other staterooms after you have been spoiled.
  5. I want to thank cruise critic poster for their sage advice...to ALWAYS get a copy of your medical records while onboard if you visit the medical center. It will cost you $28 and alleviates a lot of headaches later. I'm sorry my post won't help you now. I hope you will be able to find some department that will be able to produce these records for you.
  6. My travel mate was going to try to get on a California Coastal out of LA with just a driver's license. I made her drive home to get her passport. At the cruise terminal, I asked the agent about JUST a driver's license and he told her she would have been denied boarding. Some closed loop voyages may allow a driver's license AND a certified birth certificate if the passenger was born in the United States. Too many ifs/ands for me. I'm glad we drove (in the opposite direction) to pick up the passport she left at home.
  7. Alan often works as a SFPD officer manning the port. Like any other US port, you will need: Your medallion Photo ID Go through security, again in order to re-board the ship after check in. I can see that any carry on luggage maybe be the issue. Princess has done away with timed arrivals so as long as you can check in - in a timely manner, you could probably leave the ship and return. If this were the case, I would drop EVERYTHING off with the porters and just take a back pack with you.
  8. I was advised that taxi's from Port Everglades were regulated. Not so on my last cruise. There is a long queue and you sort of get whoever drives up next. His meter "didn't work". I would take an Uber the next time.
  9. Unfortunately, this will come at a cost of $5 since you have to pick up the phone to place your MDR order. I was finally able to get a definitive response from onshore office through an email. Seems to be another Princess failure. No charge for tea service though, if Elite. Not sure about suite.
  10. Depends on the airline you choose. Go to their website to check on cabin category and baggage fees. Japan Airlines from US to Japan/Economy: 1 free bag ANA from US to Japan/Economy: 2 free bags Also check to see if this is a code shared flight. Normally, the rules apply to the airline that owns the "aluminum tube" since that is where you will check in.
  11. Princess has yet to replace the really good Room Service Chocolate cake with butter icing. The MDR doesn't even offer a good plain old chocolate cake. How hard could it be to bake a chocolate cake with butter frosting?
  12. Even Grand/GEM class ships will have a concierge (not lounge) available for suite guests. Laundry is same day express ...if in by 9 AM/returned after dinner. The Enchanted Princess will have 360 dining, but not sure if it is still complimentary for suite guests. First night embarking specialty dining is complimentary. IF you do not have the Plus bundle, you will be charged $5 for picking up the phone to order from room service.
  13. Is it a refundable deposit? Is the FCD (Future Cruise Deposit) still valid (not expired)? Are you before Final Payment? Are you working with a TA or "own" your booking? Then yes, sort of. You cancel the cruise and the FCD is rebanked in your account. It may take a few hours/days.
  14. Agree with you regarding outlets. Most passengers today bring multi-use outlets (non-surge protectors, cubes, extension blocks, etc). Yes, Covid is still around. Did you report it to the Medical Center? If you have insurance, you would have been given a prorated credit for "isolating" in your cabin. Thank you for sharing your review about the Caribbean Princess. I hope your case was mild and you recover soon.
  15. BUT, your casino account balance will NOT. You will need to cash out, down to the last penny, or you will lose any thing in that account. Be sure to take care of this before the last night of the cruise. There are a few instances where the casino is not open the last night before disembarkation.
  16. @Cloudyrain thanks for the weather reporting. Not many lives include a weather report. I know the weather will change, but good to see "weather over time" during one day.
  17. It all depends: 1. If you booked with TA/Princess (as mentioned above) 2. If you bought standard/75% or Platinum/100% PVP (Princess Vacation Protection) minus insurance cost. 3. If covered by covered medical reason - refund 4. If covered for cancel for any reason - FCC (Future Cruise Credit) You will need to submit a doctor's report.
  18. There are a lot of single solo passengers. Join your roll call. I have not had much success with the solo get togethers. Either in a really noisy venue or lack of interest. Lots of opportunity to meet people/small groups in the buffet, at breakfast or at lunch in the MDR. Be "friendly forward". Ask if you could share a table with someone you see in the buffet or IC area. Talk to the. person next to you at the entertainment/lectures. I travel with a friend, but often are out and about on my own. Have no trouble striking up a conversation with strangers. Sometimes, I get the weirdest looks have meet really nice people that I can share my time with on the voyage. Good Luck.
  19. Has this stopped future calls? Is it after x number of calls, they can be fined?
  20. Flying West is much easier on me than flying East. LHR to the East Coast "shouldn't" be that bad. I fly LA/HNL all the time. It's coming back to California with DST that's a killer for me. Disclaimer, I was once a teacher....And you know how first days work. It's how many days before the weekend? If you get everything in order before you leave, it will be a cakewalk. For me, I would take an inside with Plus or use the money for excursions. I've done Hawaii (10 sea days) in an inside.
  21. Not specific to the Regal but generic enough that it may cross over to other Princess ships departing from Southampton. Looks like you embarked at the Mayflower terminal. 1. Does it make any difference if you have a Medallion in hand or not? 2. I think Mayflower has seats before check in, then security. Is there priority check in/waiting area for Elite/Suites? 3. What time did you arrive/get on the ship? 4. Is smoking in the casino allowed? Many, many thanks for taking the time to reply back. I do hope that the weather allows you great sailing.
  22. Was this on the 787? I've been watching a lot of youtube videos of both planes. Thanks for your review.
  23. I am flying in Virgin Upper Class. There was more space in the Airbus 350 than the "coffin" layout in the 787 Dreamliner. Also not a huge fan of Boeing. No problem....I will be able to compare the two since my return flight is on the Airbus. Why do you prefer the 787? Thanks
  24. Thank you for the translation. @Worn out mailman invited a friend to go along. Asking friend to pay tax and port fees. (very generous offer). The questions is: is OP also asking friend to buy a Plus bundle or will he pay this cost so that he could keep his Plus? Scenario: 1. She pays for Plus package (original question: "Will she though be required to also purchase the plus package?") 2. He pays for his Plus and also pays for friend's Plus since both need to have it if traveling in the same cabin. 3. If she doesn't want to pay for Plus bundle, then he can't have it either....pay as you go, share wifi (single or 4 device), each pay their own crew appreciation. I hope OP returns with their decision. Plus can also be bought on day of embarkation.
