  1. I thought insurance began with embarkation or EZ Air. I know they will cover trip interruption, but unlikely 5 days before the cruise. Maybe FCC but probably not medical.
  2. I wear my hearing aids and place it in the mute mode. Often I add a protection of wadded up tissue. Protect your ears…it’s louder than necessary in many venues beginning with the Piazza and ending with Princess Theater.
  3. Great suggestion and I would like to expand on this... Leave inside the safe (in a zip lock bag): label bag with your name passports a credit card meds for a couple of days and any other small personal item you may need
  4. I discovered that a medical incident that happen when I was out of the United States was 100% covered by my medical insurance company. I still purchase PVP. 8% is worth the peace of mind.
  5. Thank you for reporting in. I believe you got the Platinum PVP for the price of standard. I'm not sure if it is twice as much. Regardless, I always make my sisters purchase Platinum. AON has been good for me too.
  6. That original thread is on Part 4. I wonder if CC members/moderators will use Part 4, or start Part 5. Waiting for all the reviews.
  7. I have no reason to download. Waiting for CC gurus to analyze and evaluate.
  8. I thought the release date was December 1 ???
  9. Last update: My AON claim is closing out. It’s unbelievable how fast my claims were processed once denied by Medicare. Just received reimbursement from secondary insurance and a notice from AON that I will be receiving the $28 paid to the medical center for my Medical History. I will get all that I spent returned. As I mentioned in a previous post, onboard account was cleared with non-refundable OBC. I am pleasantly pleased that I will get back my $28 non-medical expense. Money in my pocket. I do question why I would need to purchase PVP if my secondary insurance will cover me outside the United States. But not willing to tempt chance. PVP covers more than just medical. I highly recommend some kind of travel insurance. The one time I didn’t (early cruising days), I needed it. I have since purchased it and have had to cash in my chips for a variety of different reasons.
  10. If memory serves me well...don't count on it... Aren't there "mistake" cabins? Those that don't have doors wide enough for wheelchairs/scooters, but modified showers?
  11. I would reconsider you cabin choice. Plaza Deck/ocean view/far forward/under theater are some of the worst cabins. As you move closer to the bow, the curvature of the ship DECREASES the inside of the cabin.
  12. I am surprised that maintenance would make such a late night call. Whenever I have contacted customer service via chat or a phone call late at night, I am always asked if I will be awake in 30 or so minutes. Usually it is an “emergency” and let them know that I would like the toilet, air/heat fixed ASAP and I will stay up for x minutes. Yes, bring it to someone’s attention. But next time, either bring an adapter (for CPAP and lamp) and/or mention what you are planning to disconnect to your steward.
  13. My TA has always reminded me that the coupon offers were only good per stateroom. You may order a bottle of wine for suite speciality dining on embarkation night. I was the only one to use the casino free play coupon. And, of course, the free 8x10 specialty portrait was not available for a 12 day cruise….studio was not manned.
  14. Medicare was the hold up. even though I knew it would be denied. AON knew it and secondary insurance knew it, but i needed a formal EOB denial. I wasn't sure second would pay if Medicare denied. Good to know I am covered outside of the US.
  15. Looking good in the islands up to 12/22. high: 80 / Low 70. The low of 70 is "cold" to islanders. I needed to throw on a jacket at 73...lol. Recommend a wind breaker rain repellant jacket + umbrella for Mauka/mountain morning showers. We just had 4 days of rain with a Kona/southernly front. aka sheldon cooper....we shouldn't get any more rain for a few months!
  16. Covid Reimbursement Update December 8, 2023: Medical Center visit for Covid - July 30, 2023 (covid probably caught in Norfolk, VA) Isolation - 2 nights End of cruise - August 3 Used non-refundable OBC as my "Get Out Of Jail" pass Filed claim with Medicare/AON - August 8 Medicare returned claim 60 days later...needed itinerary - re-submitted November Medicare finally denied (I knew it would be...duh) December and submitted to secondary insurance Within 10 days - full reimbursement for Medical Center Visit AON reimbursed isolation credit - October 4 direct deposit ******* Waiting on AON to see if they will pick up Requires Medical History cost -$28 AON has been most patient as they waited for Medicare to get their act together. Processed what they could work on. Have been responsive to my emails and uploads. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
  17. I've brought back foods many a times. Only once was it confiscated (plate lunch/NCL Kona).
  18. Glad to see a review of the Royal Class Window Suites. Interested in your take about distance to Concierge Lounge...did you frequent...and ride so high/forward. Amazing view...
  19. Hot chocolate in the buffet comes from the bar…with a charge. You can get hot chocolate and chocolate milk in the MDR at breakfast, no charge. They also have lemonade in the buffet AND MDR!
  20. You are absolutely spot on with regards to Lahaina. Rent a car at both Hawaii Island ports. Hilo has lots of gardens. Kona actually has 3 National Parks. It is the drier side of the island with not much within walking distance.
  21. Refundable deposit? Insurance? FCC expires or has to be used by?
  22. It is important to bring an ample supply of your medications in addition to over the counter drugs like Pepto, Tylenol, aspirin, etc. if your doctor will prescribe Paxlovid and prednisone that will be helpful. The best laundry detergent would be the ones that are in sheets…dry, flat, and easy to transport. Bring various sizes of zip lock bags. You will be lucky if you can find two outlets in your cabin. An extension cord (not power strip) and/or adapters and/or multi-use travel units with outlets and USB ports. Don’t forget to pack your scale (aka Sheldon Cooper)
  23. I read your post (I think carefully). At first, I thought you were doing a back to back from Vancouver. Then... US port to Vancouver, then Vancouver round trip...acceptabble. US port to Vancouver, then Vancouver to a different US port...unacceptable. Options: 1. Get off in Victoria / get back on in Vancouver...but not sure that would really work since itinerary would be the same. 2. Get off in Vancouver / enjoy Vancouver for the night / Hop on a ship/train to Seattle. Doable. But, those repo from Vancouver to Seattle are usually 1nighters. 3. Do a round trip to Alaska from Vancouver. 4. Write your congressman/congresswoman to get rid of PVSA (good luck).
  24. The least of my worries would be someone intentionally taking your scooter. Others have "marked" their scooter with a very identifying object. The ship is a contained environment. Not many places can "hide" a scooter. As for the back of the theater. There are passengers who will take advantage of "any" open seat. It would be best to arrive at the theater at least 15 - 30 minutes early. If it is just you and your scooter, no problem. On a side note, on one of my cruises (to Hawaii), a lady on a scooter arrived after curtain. It was dark. I don't know what she was thinking, but drove her scooter down the stairs. It wasn't pleasant. They stopped the show and had everyone leave to attend to her. Your biggest concern will be the elevators. Plan on taking the forward elevators if you can. The forward elevators will take you from Lido to Deck 5. The aft elevators will only take you to Deck 7 (except for the aft dining room on Deck 6). Then you would have to do some fancy Deck hopping to get to Deck 6 and 5 midship.
