  1. Well now I just have to go back because I didn't get to eat all the things you posted. Although, I certainly ate enough!!! 😄 We never did get around to trying the pizza place.
  2. Yes, you can ask your butler to serve dinner in your suite from any of the specialty restaurants. On our recent 10 day cruise, we had eight specialty restaurant reservations thanks to our butler. We also ordered canapes brought to our room most days. He made sure we had the requested soft drinks in our fridge and kept it well stocked. He stopped in at least twice a day to see if we needed anything.
  3. There is a clever little reading light on each side of the bed that can solve that issue.
  4. We also love Jacques. The escargot is fantastic as is the Dover sole. I also had a wonderful veal chop there. Then there is the mille-feuille for dessert. We managed to get three reservations at Jacques on our recent cruise on Riviera.
  5. That miso glazed sea bass in Red Ginger was one of the best pieces of fish I've ever had. The tempura shrimp was also fantastic.
  6. I too thought the eggs benedict in the Grand Dining Room were good. I also had lamb chops with my eggs a couple times.
  7. We were on the Riviera segment before your cruise. They had a first timers party. You wouldn't know about it unless you were a first timer, since invitations were delivered to the rooms just like the do with the frequent cruisers party.
  8. I thought the same thing. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused.
  9. I looked for you in my kitchen yesterday, but no dice. 🙂
  10. I was on this cruise and that was a ROUGH sea day. Many people didn't leave their cabins.
  11. NJhorseman, I understand what you are saying in your response to me above, I am fully aware of the limitations placed on preparing food for over 1000 as compare to a local restaurant, However, food on Oceania has been hyped as being fantastic, Until tonight, our meals have been mediocre and I am not the only one who feels that way, Tonight Red Ginger was fantastic. We ate there last week and it was not wonderful, but tonight was wonderful, The sea bass was fantastic and so was the service,
  12. We are in a penthouse, but that has nothing to do with my expectations as far as the food is concerned, We had been told how fantastic the food is on Oceania and after all, the best cuisine at sea. We have yet to have an outstanding meal. Jaques came close, Perhaps the difference in how the people feel about the food has more to do with where they are from and what they are used to, We have many wonderful restaurants where we live and I was expecting food on board Oceania to be at least that good if not better, The service throughout the ship has been wonderful. By the way...there has been plenty of strawberry jam in the Grand Dining room.
  13. I guess timing is everything, Our embarkation was very smooth, The porters took our bags and we went right in, No line at check in at all. We are in a Penthouse so there is a separate check in line As stated above, the staff is fabulous throughout the entire ship,
  14. We are on the Riviera now. This is our first time sailing with Oceania., Also our first time with a butler, Our butler is a doll and has been helpful in getting us more dinner reservations, however, we did that on our own the day we embarked, Friends who have sailed with Oceania made a VERY big deal about the food, For the most part, it's OK, Our two meals at Jaques were wonderful. My sister had a steak in the Grand dining room that she could barely cut, They did offer to bring her something else, Our meal at Red Ginger was good but not as special as we expected from the hype we had heard, Our PH suite is very nice, especially the shower. The deck around the pool gets VERY hot so keep your shoes on. I'm surprised they didn't use a surface that doesn't get so hot, The shows have been so-so. The big standout is the staff throughout the entire ship, They are so personable and make a special effort to make sure things are going your way,
  15. There were people in shorts and ratty tee shirts at the Captain's cocktail party last night.
  16. On the Riviera now, Ate in Red Ginger last night. Many people were dressed extremely casual like the man wearing shorts and sneakers,
  17. Our cruise is this Thursday, March 2. Just three days away.
  18. Just received an email saying we will now be leaving from Terminal B rather than J. Someone said it is more difficult to get to terminal B. Anyone have any recommendations?
  19. Don't worry. Same thing happened to me a couple months ago. Weekend maintenance. Check Monday and your booking will be there again.
  20. Were you trying to book a table for two or sharing? It's usually much easier to get the times you want if you are willing to share a table.
  21. WOW! That's really disappointing. I was looking forward to escargot.
  22. GregoryPaul......I was thinking the same thing as I read the very condescending post above.
  23. I don't think so since every category but one is wait listed. Seems like it will be a full sailing.
