  1. It seems the port congestion issue has started when the Carnival Jubilee arrived - 6500 passengers!
  2. In Vancouver, they tried to take my small electric fan that I take on all my cruises and there have been many...I continued to argue with the security lady and finally I told her it was a medical necessity and she said " ok" if that is the reason!!!
  3. Your voice is amazing...you should go on America's Got Talent or one of those shows,,,,
  4. Princess offers two different choices of pillows - you can always exchange the ones you have for the fuller ones. WE usually sail in an aft rear facing cabin and have never had a problem.....good luck on your cruise. I can't wait to go again next month!
  5. You must have an odd cabin. We sailed the Regal in Oct, again Dec 3rd and again Dec 24th and going again Feb 18th. Our bed was perfect as were the pillows, everything in the cabin was in perfect working order. so there was a little rust on the balcony - we do sail in salt water so not a big deal. The rest of the ship was great . We had no complaints whatsoever....Love the Regal!
  6. Carambola Beach Club on St Kitts - wonderful!
  7. We never purchase insurance from Princess. it is not worth it. We use Squaremouth .com and can find multiple policies with different limitations, coverages, etc. It gives you much better coverage for a lesser price.
  8. Better to go around 1pm. We boarded on Dec 24th at 10:30 and it was almost a 2 hour wait due to security ...they had only 3 security lanes opened and then finally opened two more to speed things along.By 1pm, the line will be shorter..IMO....
  9. We do not eat beef so no comment on that. Overall the food is good . It does tend to be a bit too salty for my palate. There are always plenty of options.
  10. That is who we use also and get results sometimes the same day.
  11. There was an elite line in Ft Lauderdale in Oct for the Regal….nots in Galveston for the Regal.
  12. It is not odd at all. There were high winds. If the port authority. Cancels the tenders, then we skip the port. Pretty easy to err on the side of safety. Having done over 50 cruises on Princess, I have never heard of a captain lying to skip a port, Passenger safety is of prime importance.
  13. It was a long, long line to get on the ship on Dec 27. We arrived at the port at 10:40 and the line was EXTREMELY long. It took over 1 1/2 hours to get on. It seems the problem is a lack of security check lanes being open…we reached that area and there were only 3 lines open. They then opened two more lines and I expect that helped speed it up. If all the available lines would be open, it would be much better.
  14. My husband and I are on this trip. We recently disembarked the Regal on Dec 10th ---love this ship. I will be bringing 6 paperbacks and checking the ship library as we travel along. The Regal has a really good exchange library so I will leave my books as they are finished ... We are only 2 hours from the port so will leave on Wednesday morning sometime...after the commuter traffic is over. We will surely see you in the casino as that is where we spend a lot of time. Safe travels to all and a very Merry Christmas!
  15. You will have no problem seeing the sea witch on the Princess ship.... It will most likely be the first ship you see.
  16. You will see the ship - it is hard to miss on Harborside Drive.
  17. The Regal library is aft deck 7 next to the Vista Lounge - It has a large number of games, puzzles and good books...
  18. Yes anything is better than cruising from the port of Houston....there are many cruise lines in Galveston - Royal, Carnival, NCL, Disney - now Princess and MSC coming soon. Not the greatest ports but still a great cruise!
  19. The Regal has a great library as does the Ruby.. The newer ships like the Enchanted and the Sky do not even assign space for a library....
  20. My two requests were processed quickly - one the same day and the other within 2 days.
  21. Facial recognition has to do with disembarkation only.....I also heard that rumor about the fake passport...Boarding is not too bad.
  22. I will add another note. We disembarked from the Regal on Nov 5th on its relocation trip from FLL and they had the facial recognition at that time. I have no idea what happened to make the change.
  23. We did the express walk off - we were off at 7:15 am - no problems at all. I asked the customs agent about facial recognition and he told me it was not available for this cruise line in this port, but we walkd out and were on the road in 10 minutes.
