  1. On the apex sunset veranda there is only a locking handle on the inside. Had not see this on a veranda. Actually discussed with room steward about getting locked out. She said she checks to be sure no one is outside. Also noted that there is a sign next to door that says no A/C if the door is not locked.
  2. Have read postings that the weather prevented some from stepping onto the Antarctic as these had to be cancelled due to poor weather or sea conditions. I would be disappointed to sail on an expedition cruise and miss this experience. Have you encountered this?
  3. Appreciate the info. I was thinking it might be window washing machinery in front of veranda.
  4. I hope it was a good one without any issues. Says it 5% obstructed. Surprised a suite would be offered with an obstruction. We did move up and got that cabin from IV. First time in a suite on Celebrity.
  5. Would you share your cabin number? We in that area also next month.
  6. Your photos are amazing. What camera are you using? We had this planned for next week but decided not to go. Maybe in the future and maybe on a small ship.
  7. We will be on in April for the TA and then again in November. Will be interesting to see if any cabins or facilities are updated/remodeled.
  8. We did our first celebrity cruise and it was our first time in Europe for our 30th and now have been back many times. We did it in November and the weather was great for touring. We Only go spring or fall. As we had not been before, went to a travel agent and did Rome to the Greek Islands for 10 days. Was wonderful and 15 years later, we have done 7 Transatlantics and 6 euro cruises. I would say no matter what you select, it will be great and you will want to return!
  9. We have had great updates from various captains when we have had weather adversely affecting our sailing across the Atlantic on recent voyages. . Always appreciate detailed info and maps explaining the situation and the deviations.
  10. In my experience, shows are at 7 and 9 or 7:30 and 9:30. Have experienced both. 7 and 9 are most likely on Celebrity.
  11. You changed your booking to a suite guarantee from your current booking. Did you have to cancel current booking and rebook? Are you not in final payment? We are sailing mid April and made final payment on different ship.
  12. Very frustrating. Did you book online or with a rep over the phone. Did you receive a confirmation when you booked with Celebrity? I book directly via phone and don’t let the rep hang up until I can review and be sure it is correct. Have seen discrepancies in the past and they were corrected immediately.
  13. We are opposite - like the sun on our Veranda!
  14. We had a SV on an Apex transatlantic. Weather not the best for about 5 days so did not use veranda during that time but still liked the actual outside. Thought it was very odd that the veranda door could not be locked/unlocked from the outside. Notice said that A/C won’t work if door not locked. Had IV for the first time on a Beyond TA and again weather not so great for a while. Was locked during these days. Only hot the last 4 days so could enjoy weather from our cabin. Not sure our window was ever cleaned in 14 days on ship. We will be doing our first Caribbean sailing on an IV in February. In past, always had traditional veranda. We do like the quiet of our own outside area at times when decks are busy so we will see how this goes with IV. I have the considered the porthole cabin but it seems that while not the same as IV, it seems very enclosed. Would like to actually visit one before booking.
  15. Years back it was 3 drinks at the Happy Hour and we would get the coupons. Then migrated to your card. Now unlimited.
  16. Her vacation started on October 30. Was on the TA sailing to FLL with her.
  17. We had prepaid it as a first night discount so had not in the past received a slip until that night. Had done this numerous times. Not an issue until that cruise.
  18. When dining in a specialty locale pre Covid and pre 20% add on, we were told by waiter that gratuity was not included but we were under the impression at that time it was. This was the first time we had been told by a waitstaff that it was not included. To get the proper information, we inquired at GS who passed us on to other departments, as to what the actual answer is. Could not get a straight answer and none of the parties we spoke with had the same answer. Was somewhat frustrating. This was after the meal so was only for our curiosity. Since the gratuity is now added on to the cost, this is a moot point and clearer!
  19. I book directly with celebrity over the phone. I only end the call after viewing the confirmation. Have had errors in the past that are corrected on original call.
  20. If you require a special diet, I have seen diners receive special or modified meals. You must make the waiter aware of this along with letting Celebrity know prior to your cruise. There are many people who have done this and will probably let you know how to handle these requests. There are many who don't realize they can get menus to match their dietary issues and then are not happy after.
  21. End of February 2023, my DH self tested positive at start of 2nd leg of B2B on Equinox. I tested negative. Contacted medical and they checked him out and gave OTC drugs. Presented our tests to the staff. Confined only him to cabin for 5 days. Delivered meals and called everyday. Not a bad case and fully recovered. No charge to us and refund for 5 days (only for him) Wonder if protocol has changed. Always travel with covid test kits.
  22. I don’t use travel agents but for those who do, do you receive the actual booking confirmation pdf that is sent to those who book directly? It contains all the pricing information and date booked.
  23. In my IV cabin, Tv could not be moved.
