We did Sunset Veranda on the Apex TA in April. As was stated, it was the same length as as an IV and the true balcony was added onto that. This was great as we had a lot of bad weather and they moved the chairs and table inside. Same furniture as IV. Was now laid out just like the IV. Did not take up any of the actual used floor space in the room. One aspect of the veranda I found interesting was the function of the sliding veranda door. The door only locks/unlocks from the inside and a warning on the inside says AC is not operational when door is unlocked. This is not unusual for this but no way to lock the door from the outside and you better hope your roommate doesn’t lock you out. I mentioned this to the room attendant and she said she always checks that no one is outside before locking the door. We will be on the Beyond in an IV as no SV available and will decide if we will do it again or cancel upcoming sailings in IV.

On recent Apex TA, no macaroons at Al bacio. Did have lemon tarts so had one of my likes.

Was looking for this information. Need to leave FCO and take a quick train ride to our hotel near the airport and wondered if I could do that. Then possibly going into Rome for the day.

That was the policy years back when we qualified. Actually had paper coupons and later was loaded to your sea pass. However we usually have a drink package so haven’t paid attention. However, did sit with others who seemed to receive more than 3 drinks during the HH.

As your investment for this is minimal, go for your flight with FBC and they will get you to the next port to board. If you have travel insurance you would be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses but you probably would not have much as FBC would cover them according to their info. I am thinking you didn’t bother with travel insurance as your cost was minimal. Carry on luggage is a good idea. We have missed sail away twice owing to weather at ship location and another time plane issue. Caught up both times (pre Covid if it means anything.)

Do the connecting rooms have an interior door or outside the room as with the S class?

I was on a ship leaving Ft. Lauderdale years back. As there was a storm I. The northeast us causing a lot of late flights, the ship left about 3 hours later. I would check to see if they would fly you to the next port if you are delayed too much.

I have not cruised with Viking and I am looking at an Ocean one in June 2025. Veranda room and $25 pp deposit. Is the final payment always due so far in advance? Chat person said due in February 2024. Been on a lot of cruises and mostly due 90 days prior. I see from this post that different promos may have different requirements and perks. Wait or reserve? This is 15 days Bergen to London. Thanks for any advice

If the food is not up to par, I tell the waiter or staff when asked and they always want to bring me another selection. I am a basic food person so not looking for gourmet food in the MDR. Want tasty and edible selection. Have returned selections to the kitchen and the wait staff is so apologetic. Not their fault I tell them.

That would be good. Easy to get to port from airport. Have sailed out of San Diego. Did an almost leave a few years back. Checked in at San Diego and were bussed to Ensenada. First stop was San Diego the next day.

An excursion I wanted was sold out. Checked back often and was available. Booked it then.

Received this response to my email concerned that smoking in casino and other areas would return. The pilot for vaping in casino is a test that is currently taking place in the casinos on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20th. It is a test at this point, and all feedback is being taking into consideration, so again, thank you. We are conducting an 8-week test on two ships to measure the impact vaping may have on the overall guest experience. Our casino players have indicated that being able to vape while playing would enhance their gaming experience. Overall guest feedback indicates that guests who do not vape do not feel vaping in the casino would negatively impact their experience. In casinos on itineraries where e-cigarette smoking is allowed, there will be visible signage designating the areas for both vaping and non-vaping guests. We have adapted the air circulation in the casino to allow the use of vapes. It is still not possible to allow vaping in the staterooms and we ask for your compliance to help us ensure a comfortable environment for all our guests. Rest assured, we will maintain things smoke-free for the enjoyment of all passengers onboard.

When we arrived post Covid I noticed that the port exit/entrance and been moved. Previously had been a shorter walk from pier out to the street. We have been located at the near and the further pier but have not seen a shuttle offered. I don’t consider this a long walk but can see if someone has issues than it may be a distance for them.

Hi Jim, in Ponta Delgado one of the docks is right in town and we have been at that one twice. The other is a bit further walk and have seen a shuttle for that one. In Malaga, there was a pay shuttle into town but it is walkable - maybe a mile. We did the shuttle but may walk next time.

You would think so. Campari, gin and vermouth are on the classic package. A Negroni made with all three is not. Why? When I asked the beverage manager the answer is that is is a “craft cocktail .” I was tempted to order a shot of each but my DH said just pay the difference.

They are very difficult to open! If you open one and want to put in a bag or carry it around, really tighten the lid. Did not and leaked into my handbag when it tipped but fortunately only water.

We have used this tour company and will be using them again in November. They have a great video with step by step walking directions to town when you scroll down the page a bit. we did that a few years ago. Was a great excursion and very convenient.

Glad to hear he is doing well. May refer to cancelling and getting the refundable portions back and a letter stating what is being returned and what is not.

Not usually a return time at night on overnight.

The drink package difference is not $20 but still charging that for the upgrade!
