  1. What some don't understand is that Royal is constantly marketing to so called old geezers, as I'm one of them, via the C&A benefits offered. These benefits add up to hundreds of dollars on any goiven cruise. Also, many are complaining about the quality of food, I've sailed some 9 times after the pandemic and other than a few entrees not being to my satisfaction it's been fine. When Royal announced the change in the menu beginning earlier this year, the vast complaints, especially on this board, was the reductions in choices/selections for the regular, kids and vegetarian menus.
  2. On Oasis, it seems that all of the dining rooms are also used for my MTD. In August. we had traditional at 5 (initially it was 5:30) on the 5th deck room and they were accommodating MTD diners as early as 6PM. On our October sail I requested the dining room on the 3rd deck and this room was also used for MTD guests. One guest seated next to said that he was on MTD, but yet had the same table and sat at 5:15 every night. Also, why do you care if the waiter was unhappy. It's his/her job to seat you where instructed.
  3. I'm sailing from Galveston for the first time in December. The price and itinerary were the driving force. I'm flying from Newark airport on United @5:45 AM to Bush Int'l. Although Bush is further from the the cruise terminal, it has a much better flight available both ways. Booked shuttle thru Galveston Express for $65 R/T pp. Shuttles depart every 2 hours. Have a 10 AM reserved and subsequently return at 8 AM.
  4. Mixed bags on dining. On Wednesday, I noticed that Chop's was down $3 pp and Jamie's down by $4 pp from my earlier booking. Today, Jamie's is higher by $3 pp and lunch is up by $4 pp. This is for sailings on Anthem and Symphony.
  5. Bahamas/Nassau. Got an e-mail from Royal and also there was a thread on this topic. Informed by Royal, but no notifications for my TA.
  6. Since Wednesday, Chop's is down by $3 pp and Jamie's is up $3 pp and $4 pp for lunch, respectively. This is for sails on Anthem (3.31.23) and Symphony (10.8.24)
  7. That’s the way it was before the drink allowance in essence. People never left the damn lounge.
  8. FYI, check Chop's pricing in the cruise planner. When I booked in the planner for Anthem 3/31/24 it was $54.99 pp, now reduced by $3 pp to $51.99. Saved $18 for a group of 6.
  9. I was able to book day 1 for lunch (Jamie's) on my 2 sails on Anthem and Symphony. 12 and 12:30 respectively.
  10. Have the same oddness. Jamie's on sale @$40.99 pp for Anthem 3/31/24 (Easter sail), but $43.99 pp for Symphony sail 10/13/24. Lunch both sails @15.99 pp. Ps. Saved $40+ from the original 3/31/24 booking for 7 adults and a child.
  11. We're talking about 40 years ago and not today. I haven't gotten a meal on plane in a long time, because most have been short distance. The last time I got a meal and served with wine was the last time we flew to Barcelona for 12-night Mediterranean cruise on Serenade.
  12. You must book an actual sail within 2 months otherwise you forfeit the OBC. You also forfeit the $200 deposit if you don't convert the certificate to an actual sail.
  13. That sucks, what were your other ports. Was there on Oasis a couple of weeks ago and it was pure heaven.
  14. Don't downgrade the offerings. They had some excellent appetizers on Oasis October sail. Loved the cheeses, prosciutto and other meat offerings.
  15. I'm also accustomed to Oasis and Quantum classes. I did sail on Mariner about a year ago and had a fantastic time. Better as it was a casino comp cruise. Because of the pricing and itinerary, I booked 11 nights on Explorer and I know that I will enjoy it. Explorer is similar to the Adventure.
  16. If the set-up is the same as Quantum and Anthem, there will be 2 or more omelet/egg stations. Also, on my February Anthem sail, at lunch in the WJ there were made to order pasta stations and a stir fry one. IMO. the best WJ set up in the entire fleet.
  17. No group rates or comp cruises. My question is "can a Royal booking via the Casino desk be transferred to a TA."
  18. Maybe you can enlighten me. When I get $ from the casino the on-board agents cannot apply to the booking. Only the casino desk can apply. Am I able to transfer the booking from the casino desk to my TA.
  19. My bag already has 2 gills-one smaller than the other.🤣
  20. Picky, picky. Unfortunately my father was a fisherman 🤣
  21. Based on recent pricing you are locked to the pricing even if it goes up, which t has been the case lately. If there's a price reduction, you can call CS and get it adjusted. When I transfer my on board booking to my TA, the deposit remains at $100pp.
