  1. No….mine was medical. But AON impossible to deal with
  2. @venussuzWe FINALLY got our reimbursement after filing complaint with the state insurance commission. What an ordeal. I hope you get yours soon
  3. @inhogheaven Just file the complaint with the state. That’s the only way they will address your claim. The customer service people are located in The Philippines. The claims department is in New Jersey. There is no way for a customer to speak to the actual adjusters in NJ. The agents in the Philippines just read from a script and always end with “Please give us another 30 business days”. It’s almost like you are penalized for calling. After I filed complaint, someone from NJ called and said they had had all the documents since August. Very apologetic, but couldn’t explain what happened.
  4. @GeezerCouple Hi, just received check from AON. I took your advice and filed complaint with state insurance board. They called directly after the complaint was filed with many excuses. They admitted they had all documents since August. They could not explain why they asked in November for duplicate documents. I will get a complete report from the state and let you all know what it says. I would advise people not to buy insurance from the cruise line.
  5. Hi GC, I called them and they told me to file a complaint. I am going to wait until 6 months has past, which will be around 3/1/23. I'm just hoping that they will process it before then. If not, I will do the complaint process and let you know what happens. The state did say that the insurance company is required to respond them in 10 business days. But the consumer just gets lip service. Nuts
  6. I’m still waiting……no response from AON since November, when they asked for documents that I up loaded in August. Anyone else get any results yet?
  7. I am still waiting for medical reimbursement from NCL cruise in July 2022. Submitted claim at the end of August. Included Medicare denial for both ship medical center and Bermuda Hospital. NCL is no help at all. Bought “Platinum” insurance coverage when booking the cruise with PCC. Such a joke.
  8. I’ve decided I’ll wait until 6 months have passed since the August date that I up loaded all the documents to AON. So tired of them and their useless customer service. Then I will file complaint with the state of NH insurance department . The state did tell me they must respond to them in 10 business days, but not the customer! Duh. I will never buy insurance from a cruise line again. NCL itself is no help, even though they sell this substandard product
  9. @fairie1960 ….I’m in the same boat😎. Filed in August, submitted all documents twice because in November they asked for one that was previously submitted. Status is still in progress. The state of NH recommended that a file a formal complaint with the state. They said company must respond to them in 10 business days. Guess I will do this if I don’t get any results this month. Just ridiculous if you ask me. I called AON….complete BS. They can’t answer any questions. I usually use Travelex. More expensive, but get what you pay for. Lesson learned.
  10. @venussuz Have you had any luck? My husband got sick on The NCL Joy in July. We bought insurance through NCL which is AON. He is claiming just medical center expenses and the hospital charges in Bermuda. It wasn’t COVID, something totally unexpected. Submitted documents end of August including Medicare denial. On 11/4 they asked for the documentation from the ship. They said they had the Bermuda hospital documents. So, I uploaded everything again. The call center people can’t tell you what documents they have….so frustrating. I called NH insurance department, they recommend that we file a formal complaint because AON required by NH statute to respond to them in 10 days. UGH… Seems crazy BTW…. He’s fine now….but a frightening experience
  11. Not to date myself…..😬…..but I cruised on the SS Norway
  12. Do you think they use the bidding system to fill cancellations?
  13. Hi, If we miss the Haven lunch on embarkation day, which is a possibility, what do u recommend for a snack around 230P? I know it’s a crazy day for the butlers etc. Thanks
  14. @bkrickles1@lx200gpsYes…..thanks….we’ll do 2pm….first cruise since pandemic, never cruised from NYC. Just want to relax and enjoy that NYC sail away. Taking Acela train down the day before…Enjoy your cruises!
  15. I’m sailing on Joy 7/17. Do you know what the latest check in time slots are? I’m thinking of just going to pier after lunch, maybe avoid the chaos.
  16. There were places on the haven Sun deck that were windy, but I was always able to find a protected lounger. It was always comfortable in the area one level up from the pool. One half seemed to be shade, the other sun. It was a Caribbean cruise.
  17. Ha ha! Thanks@njhoreseman. So each application is unrelated….you must wait for 2 approval email notifications…..ugh. Got it. BTW, thanks for all the info that you post. It’s helpful. Dr B
  18. Hi Ms Kats, Regarding the Bermuda Travel Authorization….Does each adult have to submit a separate application? So, for a party of 2, each person up loads vaccine card and pays 40$. I’m trying to understand if it’s 2 completely separate transactions. I do get the new requirement of bringing negative test to pier, no uploading. Thanks, Dr B
  19. We are going to use the Inspire video proctored home rapid antigen Covid-19 test for our upcoming Joy Bermuda cruise in July. Chose this since there is a link from the NCL page to the Inspire site to order test and make appointment for your video chat test call. This would be within 2 days of embarkation. inspirediagnostics.com/ncl/
  20. I booked Getaway 14 day transatlantic NYC to London 2024…..I’m hoping the test for air travel back to US is gone by then. A transatlantic is on my bucket list. This is a nice itinerary with Paris and Brussels included.
  21. Hello, I just want to thank you for this great review. Also glad you are both getting better. My brother’s family booked this cruise for July, having never cruised before. He asked my DH and I to join after he booked a haven access penthouse. We are sapphire and haven’t cruised since the pandemic. So, we decided to go for it, got a haven family suite. Your review has helped all of us so much. We plan to take a van from Hartford area morning of cruise. Never cruised from NYC. My question: Is there just one initial line for security, then another for document check? Is Haven check in after this? I’ll follow the threads and see how the process is working on the upcoming cruises. We are trying to figure out the best time to arrive. Part of me thinks 2pm to avoid the chaos, but we usually like to arrive between 11 and 12n all the best,
  22. Loving this review……Is there a page missing from the bar menu? I’m looking for the gin selection.
  23. Thank you very much….feeling relieved that the process works.
