  1. @Hammergirl. I have cancelled excursions in the past but do not remember ever receiving a notice from Princess stating there were cancelled. Whenever I book an excursion I always print out my Travel Summary right away as it will show that I booked an excursion --- this is my proof should I ever have problems with Princess. Also, if I paid by credit card, I keep a copy of the email that Princess sends stating I booked an excursion and the cost that my credit card was charged. I don't know when you cancelled your excursions --- it does take some time for a refund. Sometimes, the refund is fast and sometimes it is anywhere from 7-14 days. Good luck, hope your refund comes soon.
  2. Thanks. Aware that it is a tourist trip. Used to live in SoCal (Irvine and Chula Vista). Meeting a friend there so wasn't sure how long of a walk it would be from the ship.
  3. So, my husband and I are Elite. We each have our own phone. So, if we sign up it would be $7.50 a day for me and $7.50 for him -- correct? We would be signing up once on board the ship so we could use some of our OBC for payment.
  4. The peppermint logs are one of my favorites so hoping they have a downtown location when we go in July and August. My spelling of the company name in my post was probably not accurate --- I apologize for that.
  5. We are huge fans of Ketchikan Kandies. Used to stop by as often as we could when in town. Last year we noticed they were not at the downtown location and didn't know what happened to them until I saw a YouTube video of Ward Cove and then I saw their sign. Hope it is true that thy might be downtown again this summer --- the trick will be to find out where downtown. Thanks for the information.
  6. For specific questions about the Ruby, I would post here. For questions about Alaska, I would suggest posting your questions on the Alaska board as you will most likely get more answers. I do agree with voljeep that you should dress in layers.
  7. I looked at the date stamp on one of our pictures and it showed we were in Sitka on 5/12/2018. Can't tell you if the time of year we went was good or not for the tour, all I can tell you is what we encountered.
  8. We are taking a coastal cruise and one of our ports will be San Diego. We are on Princess and was wondering how far is it from the dock to Seaport Village? Is it walkable???
  9. @CoralHappy to see that you were able to book the cruise. Yes, we have taken the excursion you mentioned. For us, the boat part was just "so-so" as we thought we would see more wildlife --- we only saw a whale way off in the distance and a couple of rafts of otters. We did enjoy the raptor center (we always enjoy supporting a wildlife center) and seeing the bears. Although some might describe the bear experience similar to what you would see in a zoo, we still enjoyed seeing the bears and watching their personalities. When we go in July, we will most likely go to the excursion office where the bus drops us off and see if we can get a raptor/bear combo excursion if it is not too expensive.
  10. Just received $250 for our 14-day Alaska cruise --- very happy!
  11. @startedwithamouseThank you for the detailed information, I appreciate it. I will check our itinerary to see when Rock Opera will be available for us.
  12. Thank you very much for the response, I appreciate it very much. Hope you are having a wonderful cruise.
  13. Is anyone on the Discovery Princess right now? If so, can you tell me what night Rock Opera is being performed? We will be sailing in 2 weeks and I am trying to find out the information. Thanks in advance.
  14. We received a flyer in our cabin for $150 each for casino free play. It states right on the flyer that in order to book this offer we or our travel agent must call a specific number. Also, when I have used this type of offer in the past and was going to use the offer on my booking, I told my TA that they must call the number provided to ensure we got the offer.
  15. Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.
  16. Ok, thank you for your response. If I use a travel agent, do I work through them? I know with other lines I have always had to work through the TA for a price reduction.
  17. We are new to Carnival. We booked an Alaskan cruise on January 28, 2023 for an April 23, 2024 sailing on the Carnival Spirit. While looking at some of the items posted on the Carnival website I came across something that mentioned "Early Saver Protection Form." Can someone explain what the form is all about? And, is this something I should be filling out?
  18. Thank you. Did it just show up on your reservation or did you receive notification from Carnival?
  19. Can I assume that since the stock perk has been renewed, I can now send in my proof of stock (100 shares) information so that we can get credit for our April 2024 cruise?
  20. A lot of us that have cruised to Juneau multiple times will have our favorites. We have been on the bigger boat (Allen Marine), Harv and Marv (smaller boat), Jayleen's Alaska (smaller boat) and a couple of other small boat vendors that are no longer in business. For us, we enjoy the personal touch that Jayleen has to offer. Here is her website information: https://jayleensalaska.com/. You can also look her up on TripAdvisor. My advice, take in all the information, do your research and then decide which vendor is a good match for you.
  21. I think you answered your own question.
  22. We have an Ovation of the Seas 8/18/2023 cruise book to Alaska. I can't see anything about a Premier Pass for our cruise. We booked this cruise through the Casino group. Does anyone think this might be the case we can't see the Premier Pass notification in our personalizer?
