  1. I would agree with the 7:15 and 9:30, as posted above (more accurate than my earlier post).
  2. We are definitely cruising again, but we are not flying. We found a local bus company that offers five cruise trips a year. Tried it, liked it, have more booked. We have complete confidence that if they say they will transport us on June 2, they not only will do so, but they will drop us at the cruise terminal at exactly the time they advertised, and they will be waiting for us the morning the cruise is over. Since being on a ship at sea is our goal, we think we've found the perfect solution for us.
  3. Anyone else watching Dream Cruises? Nice overview of different ships and itineraries. Previously on in the morning; now showing at 9pm in our area. A Royal Caribbean ship is featured tonight.
  4. I see a few from time to time. Not sure I could call it "a thing". I prefer my plain door, so my cabin steward can see my "I'm sleeping" or "I'm out" sign, so he knows when he can go in.
  5. We have walked there and back. Maybe a mile or so each way?
  6. The shows are timed in synch with traditional dining times. We had 8pm dining, and 7pm show. I think the early dining time had a somewhat later show.
  7. I just noticed that Seaside will be sailing from Port Canaveral starting next Spring. Yippee!
  8. I might also mention that if you are there on a holiday weekend, such as Labor Day, or perhaps even on a Saturday or Sunday, the town and the park - and therefore the buses - are likely to be more crowded.
  9. We take refillable wide-mouth bottles. Mine happened to be in my carryon, and I was stopped at port security to show it. When they saw it was empty I was fine. It's easy to refill onboard - cabin tap and buffet dispensers via a glass.
  10. We did this, several years ago. The boarding spot is several blocks up from the pier. You can find it on a town map. We only did the circuit; stayed on for the entire loop. Some people got on and off along the way. If you plan to get off at any of the stops, be sure to allow plenty of time to get back to the tender to get back to the ship. If the bus is already full, additional riders might not be allowed to board.
  11. I find that I am wearing my boat shoes -- Sperry Topsiders -- almost every day. Currently wearing them with shorts or long pants, but I think I could wear them with a skirt or dress. They are many years old, but still going strong. Lightweight, and not bulky, but much better support for me than Skechers or other sneaker-style shoes.
  12. Narrow gauge railway, and museum, right across from the port. Walk to the right and up the hill, passing a couple of blocks of fabulous Victorian houses, to end up at a park overlooking the bay. Take a local ferry to one or more of the small islands. Vintage fire engine tour of Portland.
  13. I should have said that my question was meant for Coco Cay. When we did the tram circuit, there seemed to be loud piped music everywhere. On Ocean Cay, we thought every spot was a perfect spot!
  14. Two+ years ago, we were on Ocean Cay twice. I recall saying "It's just so (voice chokes up)....beautiful!" "I can see everything from everywhere!" We had several cruises booked, in order to go there again. That has not happened. Last week we sailed to Coco Cay. We took the tram around the circuit. This time all I could say what "It's so loud! It's so closed in! I can't even see the sea!" We had been there previously, before all the rides and things were added. This time we went right back to the ship for the day. I do know that lots of people love Coco Cay, and lots love Ocean Cay. We sail there again in a few months. I want to give Coco Cay a second chance, even though I really disliked it this time. Any thoughts about how to have a positive experience?
  15. We have received Viking brochures in the mail for years, presumably because we do sail on other lines. I have tried to unsubscribe, to no avail. What's the trick?
