  1. Same trouble with my Mum. Seems she kept hiting a volume button on the side which caused problems.
  2. If you sit at the back of the balcony on 10 i.e under the one above you are not overlooked. However you have the option to move out to the outer balcony. However it must be said the ordinary balcony on the Grand class ships, including Ventura are of a much larger size than those on Britannia so are better. Deck 11 is between two cabin decks so should not have noise from communal rooms.
  3. I agree this was very nice and we ended up in a small park with a cafe. We then walked to the French Quarter and then back to the ship. The next day we walked to the area with the large houses and the graveyard, stopped at a Starbucks for loos on the way. Nice coffee place at the end and then took tram back. The area we walked through on the way was a bit dicey though.
  4. No they don’t. That is exactly why they have Chefs Dinner in the buffet area. These are pre designated times and allow respite from the MDRs
  5. They do not sit there all day waiting for people to leave. When the line gets small the latecomers names are called to attend. Staff will go to cabins to get any latecomers. The immigration staff want to get off the ship or leave the port as soon as possible and the captain wants to clear his ship as soon as possible.
  6. At Boston they came on board, at New Orleans it was onshore.
  7. This thread may be of use to you https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2982554-live-from-35-nights-on-ventura-what-have-i-done/page/3/#comment-66724351
  8. Card ok. The machines have English. Tram stop just beyond the large circular pond in town. Sit facing the back for the best views going up. Get off tram at end of line and head north for old town. Very short walk.
  9. Such good news. Glad Frank is back home recovering and that Avril will not have to travel in the awful cold weather next week. Look after each other and rest.
  10. The Confirmation Booking Form came almost immediately from P&O with the new OBC. We do book direct with P&O, if you book through a travel agent it would need to come via them and could take longer.
  11. Sent details to stockperks on 4 Jan and approved 8 Jan. Applied for OBC for cruise on 8 Jan and had confirmation today it has been applied. Also received new Booking Confirmation with OBC from P&O.
  12. I can understand that. However I’m sure Frank can improve with the hospital’s help. Stay positive and keep looking after yourself.
  13. Everyone note as above the dates are in the American way i.e the above was requested on 8th January
  14. When we bid for Reserve class there was two different prices for M6 and M1 so you knew which cabin position you were bidding for.
  15. We also missed Bermuda in 2016 due to weather. Seems P&O don’t like going there.
  16. Maybe ask at the Excursion desk as they might have information. we took the excursion to the Space Centre at Canaveral and it was all on the flat and very interesting seeing the Apollo craft. Thanks for your report.
  17. Iona is a totally different ship and layout to Sky Princess. Check some videos on you tube.
  18. See this for where bed is https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2980071-iona-411-cabins/#comment-66614370 mini suites on Iona have separate shower, no bath.
  19. There are not enough planes around for P&O to acquire replacements. This has come about after the plans for Arvia in the Caribbean.
