  1. Realized I confused Avis with Enterprise. Enterprise is closed on Sunday and does not provide shuttle to Cape Liberty. I am unfamiliar with Avis. Archies flat fare from 34th street light rail to Cape Liberty is $12, Uber quoted $16.
  2. Avis in Bayonne is closed on Sunday but I think Jewel departs on a weekday. There is no shuttle provided by Avis. Taxi service is provided by Archies Cab and Bayonne Yellow Cab (same business, different phone numbers). Uber/Left option but like!y more expensive than taxi due to surge pricing as was on my recent Cape Liberty cruise, so have Archies number. If flat rate is charged, expect $15 minimum as rates have increased since I used Archies in 2021.
  3. Hotels in Jersey City will provide spectacular views of lower Manhattan with fastest and easiest transit to NYC via PATH trains. Hoboken and Weehawken NJ hotels are also close to NYC. Downtown Newark hotels are close to the Iron bound section, known for its Portuguese and Spanish cuisine. Transit to NYC via PATH or NJ Transit trains.
  4. As of May 1, parking at Cape Liberty will be $30 per day up from $25. Cruise boarding times are no longer being enforced, I suggest you arrive no later than 10:30 to avoid traffic congestion the closer you approach the terminal. There is a 1 lane road that widens to 2 lanes within sight of the terminal. All vehicles must pass the luggage drop zone before parking. There is a parking garage which is no more than a 2 minute walk to the terminal entrance. There is also a parking lot across from the terminal which is another easy walk. Starting in May, 3 ships will be based out of Cape Liberty requiring all possible parking spaces to be utilized. What this means is you may not be parking in the garage (preference given to handicap) or the nearby lot. There are other parking areas at Cape Liberty and some are quite far from the terminal to the point that a shuttle was provided from these areas to the terminal in 2022. I suggest dropping luggage & passengers at the luggage drop zone should you be directed to these distant parking spots. If parking in the garage, you pay at conclusion of the cruise so bring the parking ticket with you onboard. Last year some who parked in the lots reported having to pay on boarding day, some reported paying on disembarking. So have cash/credit card with you after dropping luggage should you pay on day 1. If you are traveling NJTP, use exit 14A. The best route to Cape Liberty is via Chosin Few Way. Stay left at the toll booth, go left up the ramp & then right when 440 & Chosin Few Way split. Ignore the small sign pointing to 440 for Cape Liberty.Chosin Few Way (no lights) to the end. Left on Goldsborough Dr to the terminal. Chosin Few Way, Avenue E & 440 all lead to the terminal. CFW is the fastest & best.
  5. Exit the terminal to your left. Outside, go right. There will be a metal canopy with hanging numbers indicating zones 1 through 10. This is where you meet car services except for taxi. There are a few benches in this area.
  6. Anthem's spring ta has never sold well. Strangely, This year Enchantment is doing a ta from Cape Liberty the day prior to Anthem's and it sold better, probably because original prices were offered at low prices.
  7. 201 858 8800 is Archie's phone number. They are located in Bayonne NJ and also operate under the name Bayonne Yellow Cab with a different phone number. I have used Archie's with no issue, though only in Bayonne not from Newark. If you use Archie's both ways ask if on the return from Cape Liberty their cab can meet you in car service zones 1-10 outside the terminal entrance(the zones are marked by overhead hanging numbers). If they tell you that you must meet them in the taxi zone, which is an unpaved lot, you will have to walk to zone 10 then using the crosswalk in the road go across 2 lanes of traffic to the unpaved lot. If for any reason you use taxi on your return, ignore the signs inside the building directing exit to the left. Instead, exit right towards the parking garage. Go left upon exiting the building, walk alongside the terminal to the crosswalk at zone 10 which is near the glass entrance doors to the parking garage. This is a shorter walking route than exiting the terminal to the left.
  8. Don't know why you would make this claim. I recently switched to a travel agent who has saved me hundreds of dollars on individual bookings due to his ability to offer group rates. Not every cruise I presented him with has group rates. Every cruise I have booked with him has had group rates, less expensive than cruise line prices. I consider myself fortunate to have found him.
  9. People confuse Long Island with LIC. I learned by having relatives in Queens.
  10. How refreshing, an apology for misrepresentation of information intentional or not. A nice settlement. Well done!
  11. 1 of those ships will be at the Brooklyn terminal. I do not think you would have issues getting to EWR by noon. The poster njhorseman is more familiar with MCT and can be more helpful.
  12. Good news....part of the road has been repaved. Not all but a significant amount. The section of road closest to the terminal still needs repaving.
  13. Poster needs a ride from the port to EWR not from EWR to the port.
  14. The only signage is on the wall behind the facial recognition area & its purpose is to direct taxi & car service riders to exit left. Once outside, there is no signage for the taxi area. When you board, check with traffic personnel outside the terminal if the taxi area is still in the unpaved lot across from zone 10. If so (assuming it is), the shorter walk to zone 10 upon disembarking is by exiting to the right & the parking garage, as I detailed above. Using Google maps street view you can see the crosswalk you need to use. It is by the glass door entrance of the parking garage. The crosswalk leads to the taxi lot. Archie's Cab & Bayonne Yellow Taxi are local cabs, though I think they are the same company using 2 names. You might want to have their numbers & prearrange as the taxi dispatcher in 2021 was not doing an effective job.
  15. Cannot help with Manhattan hotels. If you find prices higher than you want to pay, look at hotels in Jersey City, New Jersey. PATH trains from Jersey City will have you in Manhattan in 15 minutes at $2.75 one way. Hotels in Jersey City provide spectacular views of lower Manhattan. Residence Inn is close to a PATH station
  16. I am not sure taxis will be waiting as there were no taxis in December 2021 as there were pre covid. Taxi pick up zone is now in zone 10. Use the crosswalk to go across 2 lanes then into an unpaved lot where a dispatcher is stationed. This was the procedure in 2022 as well though I did not use taxi. Not well organized as people were waiting up to 30 minutes whereas others, myself included, were assigned taxi minutes after arriving. If you use Uber or car service, after passing facial recognition in the terminal exit left. Once outside go right, there will be overhead hanging numbers to identify each zone. This is the authorized pick up zone for car service. Should you use taxi, the shorter route upon exiting is to exit right towards the parking garage then go left. Avoid crowds paying for parking. Walk toward the road, the crosswalk to the taxi lot will be in front of you.
  17. Uber not taxi. Weekday morning commute into New York City is unpredictable. If you are good with early/very early, arrange for pickup between 7-7:30. You can find places to eat or have coffee if you get there before 8:30.
  18. The train/tram you are referring to is the monorail called 'air train'. It is free to ride between terminals. All hotel shuttles meet guests at station P4 of the air train. It is not an imposition to use if you decide not to use taxi/Uber.
  19. A soap bar for hands & a combo body wash/shampoo gel that I think they might use to clean carpets. Definitely bring your own shampoo!
  20. As Princeton said, easiest is car service. If saving money matters & you can handle your luggage, take a shared shuttle/taxi from Cape Liberty to the light rail station in Bayonne(2 miles from the port). Light rail to Exchange Place in Jersey City, transfer to PATH train into New York City.
  21. That is a great price for a flight, cheaper than what I have seen & much cheaper than hotel cost. I would have to add transportation costs to Philly & unfortunately the cruise port is not in Orlando but Cape Canaveral.
  22. When you find round trip air plus hotel and transportation for under $300 to cruise in Florida, please post as cost is what has kept me from cruising out of Florida.
