  1. In your first post you said you were told this. Now you are repeating it. Where is this ranking of cruise ships that you refer to?
  2. Your ship will dock in Brooklyn on a weekday morning. NYC Ferry (South Brooklyn route) is perhaps a 4 minute walk from where the ship docks. It will be 20 minutes on the ferry to the Pier 11 stop. Then about a 1 mile walk to the 9/11 memorial.
  3. Did a double take recently learning of a drama show titled "She Wrote Murder". I hope it is not an updated version of Angela Lansbury solving crimes dressed inappropriately.😁
  4. Perhaps you missed it but earlier in this thread a 'warning' was given that allowing shorts in the mdr for dinner was just the start. Next would be dripping bathing suits and if still not bothered, it was only a matter of time until nudity was permitted.
  5. Fairfield Inn in North Bergen NJ has a cruise package as does Hampton Inn in Ridgefield Park NJ to MCT. I am certain Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield Park has a MCT package as well.
  6. Parking at Cape Liberty in Bayonne NJ is $30 per day. In December parking will be in the garage not the outside lots. If you look on the 'East Coast' board, someone posted that bus service from Pennsylvania to Cape Liberty is resuming. Anthem of the Seas has 2 indoor pools, 1 for all ages the other for 16 and above. By using the forward elevators, you could access both indoor pools without walking outside on the pool deck if the weather is not to your liking. Of my 3 December/January cruises from Bayonne, all had the outside pool deck closed on the last sea day. On 1 January cruise, a snow squall hit before the ship sailed. On the other January cruise it was in the 60's on the morning of the first full day at sea. Don't let the weather/temperature put you off. Anthem has many indoor facilities & activities if you do not want to be on the outside pool deck. Anthem's itinerary is to Port Canaveral, Nassau & Coco Cay. Coco Cay (in Bahamas) will be the best port call.
  7. Hampton Inn in Ridgefield Park NJ has a sleep/park/cruise package for the Manhattan Cruise Terminal wiith round trip shuttle. I believe Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield Park has a package as well. There is 1 other hotel in NJ, I know it is in North Bergen, that has the sleep packgae. I think it is the Fairfield Inn.
  8. Called to ask. Washers have 3 prices $3.75, $6.50 and $8.50. Dryer is 48 cents for every 10 minutes. Detergent is for sale. Credit card, debit card and notes accepted but not coins. Drop off wash and fold is $1.25 per pound. Walmart is a mile walk from Super Spin otherwise no where else close by to utilize your time. Another laundromat (Tropical Breeze) is 3.5 miles from Cape Liberty and is a 1 minute walk to Shop Rite (supermarket). Tropical Breeze has a website.
  9. The hotels on International Boulevard in Elizabeth NJ near Jersey Gardens mall will not allow non guests to use their laundry facilities. The closest laundromat to Cape Liberty is Super Spin located at 81 Lefante Way in Bayonne, almost 3 miles from the terminal. They do offer drop off wash & fold service.
  10. Hotel shuttle service at EWR is from station P4. I know car service is allowed at each terminal. I would think Uber/Lyft and taxi service is from each terminal as well.
  11. Ashland directed you to Hampton Inn on International Boulevard in Elizabeth. There are 3 or 4 hotels on that street, all offering pay shuttle to Cape Liberty. Why Elizabeth is recommended rather than EWR area hotels located in Newark is that Newark airport area hotels are in isolated locations with limited and in some cases no dining options other than delivery. Downtown Newark hotels are a better choice than EWR area hotels but they will not have cruise port shuttles. Whatever hotel you select, you will meet their airport shuttle at station P4 of the air train(monorail).
  12. It is the FIRST stop using the ferry.
  13. There are people on the dock who have wheelchairs to transport cruisers to the tram station & back. There is also a ferry that travels between the dock and Columbus Cove (only). Be aware, there is a short walk, at times uphill and on rocky footing, from the Columbus Cove ferry dock to Columbus Cove. I found Columbus Cove mostly free of seaweed.
  14. "got to make the best of (best of) a bad situation (bad situation) " Apologies to Gladys Knight & the Pips.😁
  15. As Ashland pointed out, you need to define what 'best' means to you if you expect others to assist.
  16. I have never felt disrespected by a person wearing shorts, daytime or night. I know the difference between sleepwear & shorts. Thinking that people wearing shorts is bizarre is(in politest way possible) extreme.
  17. "in the evening". Do you mean in every venue or only in dining rooms?
  18. You state that you want to spend 2 nights in NJ & transit to NYC. The closest location would be Jersey City (PATH trains to NYC), with Hoboken & Weehawken also close to NYC. Due to their location, these hotels will be more expensive than those further from NYC. I doubt any of these have stay & park packages but you could inquire. Trinity Reservations offers stay/park/shuttle packages. Their Newark hotels would be closest to NYC via NJ Transit trains or PATH trains (but not as quick or convenient as staying in Jersey City). There are 2 hotels in Ridgefield Park NJ that offer packages but I am certain their shuttle is to Manhattan Cruise Terminal not Cape Liberty. Hotels in Secaucus NJ, especially in/near Harmon Meadow Plaza would have bus service to Port Authority bus terminal in NYC. There is a bus stop almost directly in front of the Hyatt Place Secaucus/Meaadowlands. Other NYC transit options would be driving to North Bergen park and ride for bus service into NYC or driving to Lautenberg train station in Secaucus for NJT trains. Both would incur parking fees. 1. I would feel safe leaving my car at hotels. Possible exception being some Newark locations but there have been no reports from cruisers of issues. 2.In stay/park packages the parking is included but it adds to the package price, you are paying a fee. 3.Doubt you will have space issues on the shuttle but you would have to ask the specific hotel what their procedure is such as signing up upon registering. Do ask the times of the shuttle service. My most recent experience had a single drop time at the port with a single return time upon disembarking. It was a 2 hour plus wait for the shuttle after leaving the ship. Shuttle will be included in price of sleep/park/shuttle packages. Hotels in Elizabeth NJ on International Boulevard have fee shuttles. Paying for 4 will be much higher than Uber/Lyft. 4.Cape Liberty has a $30 daily rate (7 night cruise is $210). There is a garage & parking lots. Sailing in July you likely will be in a lot as garage is reserved mostly for handicap plates when multiple ships sail from Bayonne. 5.Lodging location will be impacted by your transit tolerance into NYC. The Harmon Meadow area in Secaucus is a good choice for a family. Having your auto will allow you to drive to other locations in Secaucus, Rutherford, East Rutherford for dining choices if the mall offerings are not appealing.
  19. Do you not comprehend my use of the emoji?
  20. Also said on the May 4 Liberty cruise (same itinerary as yours) which held true the first 5 days. Towards the end of the cruise, 1 staff member was awarding the standard prizes at every trivia he hosted.
  21. I feel violated having paid $12 pre tip for a 2 mile ride compared to your bargain Lyft rate 😁
  22. How recently did you do this? I ask because 5 weeks ago Uber was charging $16 from the light rail station in Bayonne 2 miles from Cape Liberty. You got an outstanding rate from Lyft from a location much further away from CL. Taxi rate is $12 from the light rail station in Bayonne. I don't want anyone to falsely believe the fare is $10 because for accuracy, it is not "about $10". Any cruisers from Bayonne in the past 4 weeks can inform if the price dropped, doubtful that occurred.
