  1. I'll give them a call. Check in about 4 hours.
  2. New Jersey is the diner capital of the US. Broadway Diner is at 1075 Broadway in Bayonne. 2.7 km from Tropical Breeze. NJ Transit bus service is available or you could have your Uber driver take you there. Empanadas Cafe is walking distance from the laundromat. Should be good pizzerias nearby as well but please do not patronize Pizza Hut or Domino's or any chain brand being you are in NJ. Shop Rite, across the street from the laundromat, should have pre made sandwiches and is the supermarket to stop at if you want to bring treats onto the ship.
  3. I was not given my item on the ship as I was disembarking. My item was confiscated in the terminal & I was instructed to claim it in the terminal. As I posted, I did not bother to claim the item.
  4. IHOP is walking distance from your hotel. The Jersey Gardens mall will have food options too.
  5. This. The only time I had an item confiscated, it was my responsibility to claim it in the terminal after disembarking. Since it was a pocket knife/utility tool I had found (and not knowing it was not allowed) I did not bother reclaiming it. I was not given a claim check.
  6. It has been more than a decade since I sailed from MCT, so others will be more current but I would suggest after exiting the Lincoln Tunnel go up 10th Avenue not 12th. Left onto 55th street then at the light go across 12th to the road leading to MCT. I made the mistake of going up 12th Avenue on my first sailing from MCT. Waited so long at a traffic light to turn into MCT that we got out of the car and walked to the terminal because it was faster. Second time, following directions above, there was no waiting at a traffic light and no walking the streets, pulled directly to the drop zone.
  7. Parking is $30 per night at the port, 9 night cruise will be $270. All the parking lots adjacent to the terminal charge $30, there is no $20 rate. If the site you found is advertising as "adjacent" and at $20, that should tell you something about that vendor and I would stay away from them. There is NO reputable alternative to parking at Cape Liberty in Bayonne. There used to be an alternative in Bayonne. At various times they operated under different names from the same lot they rented from a nearby business. That their shutlle vehicles had no NJDOT markings was another indication of how they operated their business. If you are driving and lodging overnight look into Trinity Reservations (located in Hamburg NJ) for sleep/park/shuttle packages to the port. The price they advertise includes taxes. Trinity is a reputable business.
  8. There are no hotels in Bayonne. There is the Hudson Plaza motel which has hourly rates. The same Hudson Plaza motel you posted as a lodging option. The same motel you stated you would stay at rather than a EWR area hotel (either a Hampton or Hilton due to its isolated area).
  9. The listing in the app for Oasis which departed on Friday July 7 shows the solarium bistro serving breakfast at 7 am for only 1 day during this cruise. The other days list solarium opening at 9:30 am for brunch. In the app on the screen that shows the silhouette of a ship, calendar and a person at the top of the page, click on the image of the person. The next screen will list 'select different cruise'. Scroll to the end of the next page to 'browse our ships' which will lead to an alphabetical listing of all Royal ships. Oasis has 3 more July sailings.
  10. I have used cruise packages twice in Baltimore but not at these locations close to where I live. My first experience in Baltimore, all went well. The second time (at a different hotel) there was only 1 shuttle run on the day of boarding and disembarking. It was more than a 2 hour wait for the shuttle after leaving the ship. Best for you to call the hotel and inquire as to their shuttle schedule. Fairfield Inn in North Bergen NJ also has a MCT package. There have been few reports on Fairfield as they started their package just before covid. The reports on all 3 of these locations have been positive.
  11. There are 2 hotels in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey that have cruise packages which includes hotel, parking and round trip shuttle to the MCT in NYC. I think they are the Hampton and Hilton. No public transportation involved.
  12. I certainly understand how nuance leads to misinterpretation and being wrong. You should reread the original post in which 'rich friends' was posted and you should reread my post using that term along with an emoji. By reading that poster's second post you will learn they did not conclude it as being an attack, yet somehow you did. You originally blamed me for your use of the uncalled for & insulting term, due to the 'nuisance' I read into it which you now admit was in error on your part. You now falsely accuse me of an 'attack' due to your interpretation. I am so glad you wanted to shake hands resulting in an ending, rather than continue or escalate.
  13. It was not an attack on your character and I am at a loss as to why you would draw that conclusion. Dressing up is a common expression still there was no need for you to label others who standards of dress do not meet your expectations as "dressing down". That was a poor choice of words at a minimum. I am glad you retracted that expression and through dialogue we both have the same conclusion as to dressing guidelines issued by the cruise line as opposed to the expectations and wishes of fellow cruisers.
  14. Still you termed and compared people "dressing down" to purchases of photos where there is no relationship between the two nor any need to.
  15. And yet you chose those exact words to convey your 'centrist' point of view. "Perhaps dressing causal would have been a better choice". Perhaps, really?
  16. As a good friend I suspect you will brace your rich friends for the critique they will incur if cruising, from fellow passengers whose meal has been ruined based on the clothing attire of others.😁
  17. Superior without a doubt (in this specific example)
  18. How 'centrist' of you to label others as 'dressing down' in comparison to your choice of dressing. Once the study of the 'dressing down' people eating in dining rooms has been conducted by other concerned passengers of the center viewpoint & their photos taken perhaps a buy one get one photo sale will entice the dressing down crowd to purchase. How are your camera skills?
  19. Photos needed too. Don't forget the photos!😁
  20. Same on the TA I did in 2019. Announcement at noon each day that the clocks were moving forward. I appreciated not losing an hour sleep on consecutive multiple days & I am sure the crew enjoyed it more.
  21. Check hotels in the Mahwah & Ramsey New Jersey areas. From the Thruway take exit 15 (follow signs for I 287 & route 17) then onto 17 where it splits from I 287. You could check hotels in Paramus NJ which is the shopping mall capital of NJ. Garden State Plaza mall is the largest in NJ. Paramus Park mall is on par with an outlet mall if you are up to shopping after your drive. Gas prices in NJ much cheaper than NY, note that it is illegal to pump your own gas in NJ. From these areas you could chose the George Washington bridge option to MCT (most direct) or Lincoln Tunnel option based on traffic conditions.
  22. I once disembarked before 7 am. I consider that to be 'a lot' before 8 am. If I had disembarked 'not a lot' before 8 am, I would have missed my flight.
  23. Doubletree at EWR is in an isolated area with 1 restaurant in walking distance. Doubletree NPS has a free shuttle and is close(not walking distance) to Newark's Ironbound section known for its Portuguese, Brazilian & Spanish cuisine.
  24. On a port call in Boston last year I found the area pedestrian friendly with sidewalks, crosswalks and traffic lights. Public bus stop in immediate cruise port area and another a short walk away on a main street.
