  1. You can mix and match. I did on Solstice in April.
  2. There was priority boarding for Elite plus and Aqua class in Los Angeles when I cruised on Solstice in April. I do not know what they do in Florida.
  3. The terms and conditions of the summer sale state it is for new bookings only. Many have reported that they were able to reprice their cruise to take advantage of the lower price. Is Oceania not enforcing the new booking only provision? Or did the folks getting the lower price initially do a onboard booking, which I understand allows you to claim any future price reduction.
  4. One problem with allow vaping in the casino is that it will encourage more smokers to sail on Celebrity. Many of those smokers will not be able to resist vaping in other places, like their cabin or the veranda.
  5. You can see the special lower prices for the summer sale on many TA online booking sites. The prices are much lower than listed on Oceania’s website.
  6. So the sales are continuing even with SM. I have received emails from two TAs today that mention a Summer Sale with up to 40% savings.
  7. We have been on cruises before where we never got off the ship at any of the stops. It was nice being onboard without crowds.
  8. I have been on many cruises with stops in Mexico, and never had to show a passport when in port in Mexico.
  9. We had a nice table for two by the window on Solstice in April.
  10. They actually do not look that bad. Maybe it is good to know the facts before complaining about changes.
  11. We are booked on the same cruise, and I have been watching pricing for the last month or so. The difference in price between a Penthouse suite and an Oceania suite has been about 5K per person w/o airfare. So if they offered much less than that this far out from the cruise, it probably was too good to be true.
  12. How does this work if it is all refundable at the time of deposit? Do you just insure the deposit amount? I assume you have to insure some amount so that the pre-existing condition waiver is in place.
  13. No visa necessary. https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/info/do-i-need-an-e-visa-if-i-am-on-a-cruise-ship/ According to the Law on Foreigners and International Protection which entered into force on 11th April 2014, those foreigners who arrive at sea ports and intend to visit the seaport city or nearby provinces for touristic purpose are exempt from visa provided that their stay does not exceed seventy two (72) hours. However, if you arrive in/depart from our country by air for your cruise tour, you must obtain a visa.
  14. What does this actually mean? Is it 10% of the fare, or just $250 pp, or possibly both? It literally seems to say the penalty is 10% of the fare minus $250, which does not make much sense.
  15. Most salmon is also farm raised. I was at Costco today, and frozen farm raised salmon was $11 per pound, while frozen farm raised tilapia was $6 per pound. So tilapia is significantly cheaper. We are booked with Oceania for our next cruise.
  16. We also like HAL. Have not sailed with them lately, but we have always enjoyed the food in the MDR.
  17. As mentioned above, Oceania does not list actual prices for the ESS promotion on its website. I was able to find ESS pricing on several TA websites. The ESS pricing is often significantly lower than the other promo prices listed on Oceania's website.
  18. Who needs luggage? https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/airline-traveler-ducks-baggage-fees-doing-this-fishing-vest
  19. As mentioned above, this would be a violation of the PVSA, which prohibits foreign flagged vessels from transporting passengers between two different U.S. ports, unless the ship also stops at a distant foreign port. Cabo is not a distant foreign port.
  20. Aren't virtually all decisions that for profit businesses make calculated business decisions?
  21. Celebrity switched to "Always Included" pricing in November 2020, in which most fares included a beverage package, gratuities, and internet access. There were always some fares that excluded AI, such as last minute discount fares. Earlier this year, they dropped AI for all cabins except for suites and Aqua class. They still offer AI as an add on on all other cabin categories.
  22. Yes, you can. But you can also just pass on the OBC and get a discount on the cruise fare equal to the amount of the OBC. This is what I did on my recent booking.
  23. No, it does not. I was in a cabin next to an infant on a Celebrity cruise many years ago, and I could not enjoy my balcony due to the crying from the infant. On my next Celebrity cruise, there was an infant next door. I went to the reception right after heading the crying, and convinced them to move me. The cruise was not very full, so I do not know what would have happened if there were not a lot of vacant cabins.
  24. How are the bathrooms on the R ships? I read that they are small, but that they are better than they used to be. Almost sailed on an R ship when it was new. R filed for bankruptcy about a month before the cruise.
