  1. We have cruised on Princess 7 times and I have NEVER heard of Princess referred to as a "booze cruise"., nor habe experienced this. Carnival, and RC- yes. (which we do not cruise on) Believe me, if Princess was a booze cruise, we would never have sailed on this line or returned. So... Maybe a 4 nighter is more of a party atmosphere? I would not know. Sorry; no hairy leg contests, no rock climbing walls, no water slides...
  2. We se a TA with a big box store. We typically are rewarded with a huge cash "refund" shortly after our return. Cabin availability is excellent through them and we book a favorite aft cabin. It does not hurt to look around for an arrangement that works for you.
  3. The reason for booking arrival at LHR just one day ahead of embarking and leaving the day of disembarking, was the nightmare we endured last May regarding covid testing. Never again.
  4. This will be our second time to England and we plan on a another one in 2024, so that will present the opportunity again. The reason for booking arrival at LHR just one day ahead of embarking and leaving the day of disembarking, was the nightmare we endured last May regarding covid testing. Never again.
  5. I booked our flights basically on day one of availability, getting them at at least $2,000.00 less than they would have been now to re-book. However, I appreciate your suggestion.
  6. Our experiences have been that you choose a boarding time. Then you arrive at the port and they will sort you. Handicapped Elite Platinum Suites Everybody else So it really does not matter.
  7. Exactly... We visit the International Cafe each morning for our fancy espresso and cocoa drinks. We typically grab some bottles of water each morning to take for our shore excursions and to keep in our cabin fridge. I do not worry about bordering nice wine in then evenings.
  8. I hope you LOVE your British Isles cruise! It was fantastic!
  9. We have cruised Alaska 5 times, 4 on Princess. I will tell you right up front that we love the Grand and Crown. MANY love the Sapphire but we have not had the opportunity to cruise on that ship. Skywalker's is a true gem. It is a great quiet area for viewing, reading, playing games. You can just step outside for viewing as well and pop inside to warm up a bit. We always book (try to anyway) an aft Caribe balcony and so love it! The views and covered decks are lovely, as well as more privacy. We have only been on one of the newer ships and loved the Regal! It is true, the buffet is huge. However, that may have changed a bit since covid.
  10. Our flight from LHR departs at 4:15 pm. We will be docking in Southampton as well. This is just too close for comfort for us, as much as we would like to visit Stonehenge someday.
  11. We have cruised Alaska five times (4 with Princess). You booked our favorite place... a Caribe Deck Aft Cabin!!! You have an excellent beginning. And.......... You will have Skywalker's on the Sky deck. Many passengers use this area for a quiet reading/ game area and viewing area. During Glacier days, it is a great place to be because you can go outside for viewing and when too cold, take a quick duck back in to warm up a bit, without sacrificing any views. And of course, your aft cabin will give you fantastic panorama views without getting wet. Even though there is no loveseat in C752 or C753, we book one of those. The balconies are huge! Do research on the Alaska Board and join your Roll Call. There may be a Meet & Greet organized which you may want to attend. It is typically on the first sea day. Pack layers, appropriate shoes, boots, water repellent jackets, hats and a bathing suit. It was 78 degrees one time when we pulled out of Ketchikan, just beautiful! All of our shore excursions are typically through a private company. Once on a while we will book through Princess, depending on the circumstances. Room service has worked well for us (2022) and it is mostly delivered in a very timely manner- it is usually two glasses of wine and takes about 10 minutes. We typically purchase the Princess Plus package because after doing the math, it is worth it and we do not worry about getting a large surprise at the end of the cruise. Crew gratuities, WiFi, morning coffee, later in the day wine, fresh squeezed OJ, etc.
  12. @azbirdmom "By the way you said you will be there in September. If conditions are right you may get lucky and be able to see the Northern Lights and your balcony would be the prime place for viewing since you won't have light pollution up there. It has to stay dark above the bridge so that would be a bonus if it happens." Yes! Our first Alaska cruise was during the last week in August and we saw the Northern Lights. Our 2 daughters were with us making it even more special. However, we have cruised Alaska three times in September and they did not appear.
  13. We were on the Grand last September for an Alaska 12 night itinerary. We departed the port about 10:00 pm (about 6 hours late), due to an engine issue. The Captain and crew did all they could and were able to fix the issue. The Captain had to make a decision to miss one of the ports. However, he graciously gave each passenger $150.00 in OBC (per passenger, not per cabin). I did not hear of any grumbling, only kudos for the gift AND that they got the engine part they needed!
  14. Actually, when they know your cabin number, they can see if you have Princess Plus, Premium or a drink package and can bill accordingly if needed.
  15. Ice Cold Lemon Drops! Also, the original recipe for Mai Tais.

    Sangria

I think you would be able to ask for some good red wine with added fruit juices of your choice, over ice.
  17. Thank you @wowzz for your posts! We will be on the Sky this June along with @Mary loves to travel. As long as they keep Alfredo's, IC, and Vines then that is great! We would also be interested in menus, shows, and is the coffee any better in the IC (Princess is supposed to be switching to Lavazza). Also, please tell us about your shore excursions. Thanks and have a great time!
  18. Maybe our chairs were not tied up at night because the Lido deck is two decks above the Bridge. We were not on the Marina deck.
  19. We were in L103 on the Regal (not a suite) and we so enjoyed this cabin! Our deck chairs were NEVER tied up and our sliding door was never locked. We only needed to be mindful of having our drapes closed at night and the porch light to be off. If our inside lights were off, we could step out onto our balcony. It is a fabulous location!
  20. It is not clear that you have booked through EZAir. Regardless, we have found that there really his no real.discount in booking with EZAir for domestic flights, but there is quite a difference with international flights.
  21. What are you looking for? Last December, we booked a TA for November 2024.
  22. Well, I am allergic to eggplant and do not care for green bell peppers. I do enjoy the red, orange, and yellow. That s a very SKIMPY and unimaginative menu.
  23. Thank you for the review. We loved the Regal in the Fall of 2018! My sister and BIL were with us and we had so much fun!
