  1. We recently were onboard the Sapphire Princess from LA to Buenos Aires. We missed at least 3 ports. One due to civil unrest, 2 because of weather another was delayed due due to weather. Do I hold Princess responsible, No. Received a portion of the fare as FCC. Booked again for this year. Hope we make all the ports.
  2. Last year, October, we took the train from Montreal to Quebec. Booked Business Class at a great price. Luggage was stowed in the same carriage, beverages, snacks and dinner included. Only disappointment was half the trip was in darkness. No Business Class available on earlier trains. Cab from hotel to station in Montreal, walked earlier in the day but decided with construction and uneven payments cab was the way to go. Quebec hotel was one block from train station and a couple of blocks from port. We walked. Would I do it again, in heart beat but earlier train.
  3. On another subject, several of the local tV stations used a camera showing Emerald pulling into port today and all commented on the hull of the ship. I walked down to see the ship today and agree with a touch up is needed.
  4. I feel more comfortable doing a sponsored tour that takes you from point A to B. We have done several weekend trips from San Diego to Guadalupe. Starting to rethink this getaway in the future. This past weekend there was a cartel shooting on the outskirts of Ensenada. An off road race stopped at a gas station where they were caught in a cartel hit. 10 individuals lost their lives with many injured.

  6. I would not walk around some parts of Ensenada. On the other hand, highly recommend the Princess excursion to the Guadalupe valley. We have done it several times and enjoyed visiting the wineries with tastings and light snacks. Very enjoyable.
  7. Flights for our Norway trip in August were definitely ticketed in February according to Travel Summary. Will see if the 10 digit ticket number changes.
  8. Sorry my error. The only refund on our shipboard account was the port fees. The 20% FCC is labeled Goodwill and has a hard use by date. Fortunately we travel 3-4 months a year so no problem using it.
  9. We received similar compensation for our Antarctica cruise in December. 20% of cruise fare, port fees and taxes went back to our shipboard account. Very happy with the compensation.
  10. I book directly with Princess and always receive at least one reminder. First is usually 21 days out. Sounds like your reminders are going to your TA and they are not passing along.
  11. Our local grocery store in San Diego is having supply issues. White wine selection is 75% of late last year. Even Costco has less available. Sapphire Princess over the holidays had a major supply issue. Extremely limited white wine, no limes, majority of gins not available. Fortunately we bought limes onboard with us in LA and they lasted to almost BA.
  12. Our last flights in January on American from Buenos Aires were ticketed at 30 days out. October cruise was ticketed at 32 days. Upcoming August flights on BA to Heathrow have been ticketed for a couple of months with final payment not due until 21 May. No rhyme or reason. Best guess is American is ticketed around 30 days
  13. DH caught RSV on the Caribbean Princess in November. It took almost 4 months for the symptoms and coughing to resolve. Nasty infection.
  14. On the Sapphire over the holidays we were seated several nights backing up to a servers station, the red wine was definitely out of a box. At the bars always asked what wine they were pouring.
  15. Our flights for an August cruise out of Southampton have been ticketed for at least 2 months. Flying business class, seats selected on BA. Final payment has not been made.
  16. I was able to make reservations for our family of 8 in the Crown Grill for June cruise. Just needed booking numbers for all guests. Could be the number of guests, bookings not paid in full or Status.
  17. Cruise is 7 days, this is the pricing for the same cruise. All tied back to incorrect status level for the two different prices.
  18. I posted earlier the app shows me as a first time cruiser and husband as Elite. We have 2 booking numbers for our next cruise as we are taking the grandkids. These are screenshots from our bookings indicating one is elite.
  19. Make sure in the Medallion App you are showing as Elite. I am having an issue with the sea witch showing blue instead of black giving higher pricing no 50% discount.
  20. We sailed on the Sapphire in December 2022 out of LA to Buenos Aires. The Sapphire returned to the West Coast last week after the South American season and is currently in dry dock on Portland. I have not seen a South America round trip for years.
  21. Even marking your booking no upgrade does not mean you will not be upgraded. Read the contract everyone signs. We have been moved several times and unable to get our original cabin back.
  22. We had similar packages on the Sapphire over the holidays. Thought they were poor selections.
  23. We usually take the Riedel glasses from Vines to dinner and then return them after dinner.
