  1. Do Not ask for mint jelly. What you will receive is a mound of green flourescent gunge. It is ghastly. On Eurodam last year, I was in Lido for dinner and taking some lamb chops back to the table for DW. I passed a chef as I was walking and he had a bowl of 'that mint jelly'. He asked if I would like some mint jelly and I smiled and asked "Freshly out of the can, chef?" Poor guy nearly fell apart laughing.
  2. The corkage of $20 is not subject to the service charge. It is not correct that you were charged $23.60 as the fee is $20. I have read previously that this has been charged in San Diego, but not elsewhere.
  3. With Flightease you can book +/- a couple of days either side and travel to other (but pre defined) airports.
  4. I don't see why they should. You have grats included, full stop.
  5. The flights must be booked through HAL's Flightease. Flightease may use a limited number of airlines but I know that they did offer KLM flights and I did get a very good price on a one way flight Miami to AMS last year. I am also trying to find out about the air credit. Is it per person (great deal!) or per stateroom (maybe not so great!).
  6. In reality the colour mean nothing, it is just a way they have to identify the different Gala night menus. Currently there are 3 different Gala/Dressy night menus, which, I believe operate fleet wide. The menu posted above is the Silver menu. This is the Gold menu: And this is the Blue menu:
  7. It is really strange to have a Port day as a Dressy Night specially with Malaga and many people travelling to Granada and La Alhambra. Tiring day!
  8. Jacqui, I thought that Silver was the first dressy, Gold the second and if a third was offered then it was Blue. Can you try to cancel Canaletto? I cancelled our 'free' PG only 90 minutes prior, when on Rotterdam and the booking was available again for another night.
  9. Nicely presented cheese plate (bit short of cheese though!) Good to see crackers available too.
  10. Deck 8 Aft cabins are VC category, all other Aft verandah cabins are VB category. In theory they could upgrade you to a VA or V category, which are all mid-ship cabins. They could even 'upgrade' you to a VT/VQ at the front. It is unlikely, though slightly possible, that they would upgrade you to a suite. If the 'Aft' is where you want to be, then I would say 'No Upgrade!'
  11. Is anyone else having trouble with this thread? When I click on the title, instead of bringing me to the latest unread post, it continually brings me to post #154 (Girona images). It is only with this thread that it happens! Every other thread brings me to the latest unread post. Weird! 🤔
  12. If your port is Belfast, then you need British Pounds. If it is Cork/Cobh, Dublin/Dun Laoghaire, Killybegs, Galway, Bantry etc, then you need Euros.
  13. Jacqui, so glad that you are onboard and settling in. Just looking at the sailaway images makes me slightly upset that we were not able to make it. I suppose you wont be doing to much 'zapateado' or 'golpe' at the flamenco show, but we really hope that you can still enjoy a very special cruise.
  14. I have found (personal opinion here!) that the service in Pinnacle Grill since the start of HIA is not deserving of any additional tip. Sometimes it is not even worth the included 18%. There is no problem using the Beverage Pack in PG, but if they should say otherwise, then get up from the table, walk out to the closest bar and order there. Do not put up with their inadequacies.
  15. I believe the specific disembarkation time for Luggage Direct is because of the possibility of Customs examination. We have used it numerous times (when flying on the required airline/destination) and have never got off that early. We always do a leisurely disembark at around 9am.
  16. OK, I know I am an 'outsider', but did I not read somewhere that Port Everglades does not have Global Entry (anymore) and all immigration has gone to Facial Recognition? (Apologies if I am talking out of place 😁)
  17. Cans or cartons and depending on size, it can be 12 or 6. The permitted amount is 6 litres (ie 12 cans of 500ml each or 6 cartons of 1litre each). Or, I presume a mixture of both! From HAL's current FAQ Items such as sodas, energy drinks or other non-alcoholic items are not allowed on board in any form. Plastic water bottles are not allowed. However, an allowance of six liters, twelve (12) cans or cartons (500 ml in volume or less) or six (6) cans or cartons (1 liter in volume or less) of water are allowed per stateroom. Any amount in excess of this allowance will be not be allowed onboard. Water in plastic bottles will not be allowed onboard in any quantity, including in ports of call. Guests will be asked to discard open beverages in plastic containers prior to boarding.
  18. There is an agreement between Ireland and UK known as The Common Travel Area, which give reciprocal rights to travel, residency and employment. It predates Ireland and UK joining the EU and has been continued since the UK leaving EU. But enough Geo-Poli discussion for a Saturday night!
  19. That was enough excitement for one night 😁 Hope to make it tomorrow night for NA Thanks to all! 👍
  20. Twenty three (23) toots of various length. That ship knows how to make an departure.
  21. That is good to know. We must call youngest son in Vancouver over the weekend, so tonight will be better (for us!) as we won't need to stay up so late 🤣
