  1. Obviously better than nothing but why was my first thought that they're only going to replace one of the two chairs?!
  2. I'm following opinions on Arcadia very closely as I have a large chunk of her next world cruise booked but I'm very torn on whether to spend that kind of money on something that may not be a top of the range experience. Snaefell, you confuse me. You seemed to enjoy sailing on her but can't help referring to her as a ferry on more than one occasion! Not helping my decision!
  3. Do you know which airline you're flying with yet? If you're a member of qantas flying club which is easy enough to join you get 30kg. May well be the same with other airlines, I think they appreciate that Australia isn't a fortnight's package tour.
  4. The problems are not with CPS. A major route into the city from the New Forest side needs repair work to the underside of the bridge across the water. Traffic is having to find alternative routes and if you add in train strikes, football, busy ship days etc it has been a nightmare for quite a while. Just have to allow plenty of time and hope for the best.
  5. It was a Select booking made some time ago and I chose Freedom dining. In view of some of the delays I've seen reported I thought I'd try changing it to fixed. Thanks for the info, I'll try phoning as it doesn't seem to be fixable online.
  6. Is it just Freedom Dining on Arcadia now? I can't seem to find an option for first or second sitting.
  7. Football on Saturday, single lane traffic for those coming in from west via Totton direction - people will be in desperate need of their holidays!
  8. The fact that the details of the refurbishment haven't been specified when it's obvious to a blind man and his dog what's needed leads the cynic in me to suggest that it's just public areas that will be tarted up.
  9. Exactly. As the staff don't start work until 11am you're bound to have a problem if everyone decides to turn up then.
  10. Traditionally there is an area at the front of ships for the crew to get fresh air and exercise or relaxation which can't normally be seen when onboard but can be viewed better from ashore.
  11. Maybe. I was just interested in when the ruling for P and O became so relaxed while Princess are still very hot on it. I got a slap on the wrist from Princess recently for applying a week too early!
  12. When did it change from requesting once final balance has been paid? Princess still insist on not applying until 90 days before sailing. You could have sold your shares long before sailing the way P and O are currently administering this.
  13. Exactly. We're adults and perfectly capable of making our own decisions.
  14. Big problem on this voyage appears to be the lack of testing after large numbers of people boarded in Sydney. Spoken to several people who flew in from NZ who felt they picked covid up on flight. Testing a couple of days after they boarded would have helped immensely in my opinion. Some people have been less than honest but a lot were totally unaware they were infected. Captain spoke today and implied that numbers are under control and going down but no hard facts obviously! Yes, it's not been the cruise we were expecting on the second half - we've been on since Fremantle - but we've still enjoyed it through being sensible.
  15. No info before boarding in Fremantle. At that time it was just masks when walking around the ship but protocols have gradually increased. Now spraying communal areas and enhanced cleaning too. Majority of people happy to do what's needed.
  16. Yes, currently on board Queen Elizabeth. Can confirm we're back to masks, 4 in the lift, 2 in the launderette etc. Obviously quite a few cases on board after a large number of pax joined in Sydney but not sure how many as no-one ever tells you anything!
  17. Will any of this compensation be passed on to the pax whose holidays have been cancelled do we think?
  18. My guess would be that you have been short changed as you are only taking a small section of a longer cruise. We are on the complete cruise Q231C which goes from Perth to Perth over 25 nights but is spilt into several smaller sections. If all of them had at least 2 gala evenings I think we'd be in our finery every other evening which might be slight overkill!
  19. You're being offered the chance to see what you're missing?! Fabulous...
  20. Have to give credit to the genius who came up with the idea of taking thousands of pounds from people for a "cruise" and then just not allowing them on the ship! Wish I'd thought of it...
  21. Legally they should but to date I have asked them 9 times to provide a copy from when I booked and they still have not done so. They come back with further questions every time I ask for them and then take a month (or more) to answer every email. It's absolutely disgraceful the way they have handled the whole covid issue and could very easily cause them major problems in the future if enough frequent cruisers such as myself follow through with our vow never to cruise with them again.
  22. Yes, I know. It's also the address for Cunard. I wouldn't mind betting it all goes to the same office (under normal circumstances). As the OP was getting increasingly frustrated I thought an alternative way in may be worth a punt.
  23. I've always used shareholderbenefits@carnivalukgroup.com. Hope that helps.
  24. Yes, all very useful content. I have actually formally requested the T&Cs applicable on the date I booked my problematic cruise 5 times in the past few days but they will not give them to me. It appears that it's easier to send them if they know why I want them. The words 'global circumstances' have been thrown at me many times as I apparently have to bear this in mind when I consider why I need to know what my rights are... Think it's pretty obvious who's in the right from their reaction!
