  1. Too many bubbles??!! Most certainly didn't mean any disrespect.... Not many Americans are familiar with British bubbles, basically because we just don't get it here. Will look forward to testing it in December.
  2. Ah duh…. I meant the Golden Lion Not familiar with Moretti, but will give it a try.! With Guinness on tap, I don’t need much more!
  3. I've heard (and seen) lots about the refit, but have little to no info on the Red Lion....little blip on the video. Is the menu the same? What about draft beers? Beer menu? Anyone out there have any new info? Thanks in advance!
  4. OOO! Bubbles! I love bubbles, but must confess I've never heard of Gusbourne Kentish.....sounds, ah, sort of British...giggle! Can you tell me more?
  5. We've been at both the Mandarin and the Biltmore. Much prefer the Mandarin. Biltmore was interesting as a historic property, so touring the hotel and grounds was fun but our room left a lot to be desired. We had friends stop in our suite with a bottle of wine. We called for extra glasses twice and they never appeared. Drank lovely wine from paper cups....Guess I could've (should've) gone down to the bar and asked for glasses myself.... Bathtub had been refinished, but was cracking around the drain with loose pieces of the repair material just left loose in the tub....hmmm..... Mandarin was a class act all the way. Wonderful room with harbor view....even fireworks....probably because it was close to Xmas. I want to be buried in one of their bathrobes.....giggle!
  6. Wine is just like cruise lines. There’s something for everyone and if you enjoy them, then it’s the right choice!
  7. Giggle! Yes, for the most part....otherwise I wouldn't have it!
  8. Yes, we got that notice. Although I enjoy vintage fashion of all kinds, this sounds dicey and expensive. I can dig out my own vintage, should I choose to bring that look!!!
  9. I agree completely with what was said above. I've struggled to take the photos with my iphone and at check in, they just roll their eyes and take another one. Seems to me, the last time we boarded, we didn't do it and they just took them at the pier. We've just done the online check in and all went thru just fine without the photos....boarding passes, luggage tags, etc are all printed and done. Figure Cunard can sort out the photo thing......
  10. We love "duck", but also enjoy cornish hen, turkey, goose and the occasional red meat. We are looking forward to being back on the QM2 this month, but we're also cruising with Regent and occasionally Silver Sea. All are different but the same in that they offer good food, great itineraries, and lovely passengers. Non of the above are as huge as the QM2. Some people are totally loyal to one particular cruise line or ship, but we like to change the menu up, depending on destination and cost. With the track being so fast with so many choices, it depends on what you like. There are no bad choices these days.
  11. I just watched the new YouTube video and it give us a good idea of what has been done. We'll be boarding in Dec. so it was nice to have a heads up on what to expect. I didn't see anything that warrants a "WOW, that's different" sort of reaction, but everything shown has a fresh, clean glow about it, befitting the "Queen". We look forward to seeing her in all of her newly found glory!
  12. Am I really reading this right? OMG, say it isn't so!
  13. If you've got a travel agent, use them. I wouldn't think of trying to plan a fairly expensive endevour without ours. They know all of the ins and outs of travel AND they may be able to find some perks for you.
  14. AW! Love this! We're on the QM2 for Xmas this year....we've never done a Christmas cruise before and are hoping for holiday decor, and some fun! QE looks great! Hope her sister will follow suit!
  15. Thank you, Gumshoe! Really pleased with the photos you’ve posted! Thank you for taking the time!
  16. Queen's grill cocktail lounge (the most boring lounge on the ship), stern grill's hot tub area, deck chairs, any change in the Chart Room? Anything done to any of the cabins? Thank you in advance!
  17. Old Lady reporting in here.... You can lay all of the theatrics on me anytime. It's the only place left where you can get it and not need to remortgage the house. Dining is, theatrics to us....
  18. Found ours Feb.5th Grandeur, under Feb listing....... Maybe not functioning for other months?....or just in general. So far, so good for us, anyway!
  19. Check for a deposited cruise received this am and deposited within the last hour. Very happy. Would love to come back to Crystal, but we've yet to see itineraries that interest us unfortnately.
  20. Several years ago we did a Regent cruise from Monte Carlo to Rio....fabulous itinerary, but I digress... Our flights were delayed and re routed ( a mess) but made it to Nice. After a call to Regent, we had a Mercedes suv as big as a dump truck pick all 4 of us up. A ton of luggage only filled part of the truck, ah, car....giggle! We stayed at the Fairmont Monte Carlo which was so very wonderful....still some happy memories. After near panic state (can we make the connection, will we get there in time....etc.) the drive was most enjoyable and the Fairmont took wonderful care of us....we were in an ordinary, balcony cabin, so it didn't seem to matter what catagory we were in....... Long story short, I wouldn't worry too much about your transfer......
  21. Just checked our account and what's written above is correct.....at the moment, anyway! Glad to see that Dec. 31 is now "Gala"!
  22. Does anyone know if the cheese cart is still available in PG? Will be disappointed if it's gone!
