  1. I’m thrilled! I’m a bona fide over packer and the laundry has helped so much. I need to take myself in hand and get a grip Haha! Not sure I can do with out the trailing piles of baggage but will so welcome it!!!!
  2. It oh … stuff happens but that’s too much stuff. Sorry to hear that.
  3. While I'm sure Canadian currency is nice for them, they will readily accept US. The amount depends on all the variables like were they excellent? How long was the excursion, did they make your tour special in any way? That's too hard to put a price on, but you'll figure it out. We also give something to the driver, who is just as important as the guide!
  4. After included drinks, the laundry service is the BEST PERK EVER!!!!
  5. Me too! Hoping someone might know where she is!
  6. She is a much loved sommelier but I have not heard a word about her of late. Does anyone know if she's still with Regent? Maybe headed to the Grandeur?
  7. Geez, not very impressive. Is that custom air, per year? Per cruise? sigh ….
  8. We’ll make platinum on our upcoming cruise. Anything special gonna happen? or just another glass of champagne?
  9. As a so called “ old bi**ch, (giggle!), I totally agree with your music critique. I’d LOVE to hear more updated music any where on the ships! Most especially on the pool decks! Maybe a little Bob Marley? Coldplay? Adele?Dare I say Taylor?(omg! did I actually say that? Giggle!) You catch my drift? If the future if Regent is looking to the future, they could think about that… They don’t need to throw the Rat Pack or Elvis overboard, but maybe something a little more contemporary? Hey! I’m not dead yet! Haha!!!!
  10. With chocolates, tomorrow’s program and often reminders of time changes. Lower lights, and that comfy bed…..we call it “the cloud “!!! Mmmmmm!
  11. We've stayed in the concierge level before and I don't think dry cleaning is included, however the laundry service is wonderful. Couldn't ask for better! Everything comes back pressed on a hanger, or folded and wrapped like a present in tissue paper!
  12. We've flown Icelandair several times, from Newark to Iceland and don't mind it one bit. Yes, the seats don't turn into beds, but hey, we fall asleep all the time watching TV in our recliners at home (giggle!) I think their food is second to none....always interesting and very tasty. Adult beverages in every category are plentiful and quality. We will be flying with them in September for the Splendor "round Great Britian number... We were originally given an insane flight schedule on Air Canada which we said no to (Newark to Toronto, Toronto to Paris, Paris to Copenhagen....geez!!! I don't think so) I knew we could get Icelandair out of Newark, so I asked for them.... Long story short, we like Icelandair very much and are happy to flying with them.
  13. Although I haven't chimed in much on your reports, I've enjoyed them thoroughly! We'll be boarding the Splendor for a spin thru the British Isles on the 12th. Can't wait! Thank you for taking the time to take us all along on your adventures!
  14. Just an aside to anyone flying business from Reykjavik,(I'm guessing most), the Icelandair Business lounge is a trip! Very unique and ultra comfortable. Huge as well! Not to be missed if possible.
  15. So far, out of all of the Regent ships, the Navigator has the very best auditorium, by a long shot. Wonder how we'll do with the Grandeur?!
  16. So very glad you're having good weather. We've only been to the Faroes once, Torshaven. It goes down in our books as one of the coldest places we've ever been. Damp, cold and wind that was blowing the dog off the chain! When we tried to buy some hats, scarves, there was a problem with our credit card, as it didn't have a chip. Wound up in the local bank getting Faroese krona (?). Got our hats (OMG, bring money and lots of it!!) but later found that we could not use "their" money in Denmark....go figure that one. Anyway, once warm, loved the place!
  17. mmmm! Raspberries and FT Elderflower with Hendricks sounds wonderful! Did I say mmmmm?!!!
  18. I'm not a "professional" g&t drinker as I like other things as well (like a glass of good champers!) but I've had g&ts served in a couple of different ways. On Cunard (think very British) a g&t is usually served with the gin over ice and a bottle of tonic on the side. In our local establishments, granted in the wilds of NY, it comes already poured, mixed, etc. It doesn't really matter so much to me, but after requesting a certain type of gin, the next important part is the tonic.....really like Fever Tree. I also like either cukes (Hendricks) or a couple of wedges of lime......but that's just me....hahaha!
  19. We've had that experience also. Dinner was offered in La Veranda. That was several years ago, so may not be the case now, but I wouldn't be suprised if dinner was offered somewhere on the ship, especially if the excursions involve a lot of people.......
  20. OH NO! You mean no Fever Tree? I love a good g&t, preferably with Hendrick's, my fav.......ut oh.....!
  21. Thanks Gilly... I have a feeling that she's probably not onboard and may very well be going to the Grandeur. Is she's on the Splendor, she'd be very visable and spinning around CR!
  22. Thank you! It could very well be I Kadek. I was wondering about Georgiana…
  23. A quickie question! Who is the head sommelier at the moment?
  24. As an aside, I just read that the QM2 had a very rough time yesterday. High winds broke her bow line and they lost at least one? maybe two? partial gangways. Fortunately no one was on either. All seems to be well now and there were no injuries of any kind. phew! Must've been pretty bad to cause a big girl like "Mary" to have problems or maybe her size WAS the problem! Carry on!
