  1. It was never for me, either. I did think they were dumped after each guest handled them, though. I hoped the jar wasn’t just topped up for the next guest.
  2. I do understand the reason. I also think they could just give everyone their own little snack, when requested. Then send the jar through the dishwasher…same as I would have expected pre Covid cruises.
  3. Hi, You can just do a test run on the ArriveCAN app.and it will take you all the way through to the health questionnaire. You just don’t submit it. There is a picture of a garbage can, that lets you delete the form. I just did a practise form and it does not ask for uploading the Covid test results.
  4. We usually just book the standard fare, and I am feeling a bit left out…. I get the discount for the wifi, and we stay away from alcohol, but always support the gratuities. One of us doesn’t drink coffee or tea and the other stays away from soda pop, so we are always better off with a pay as you cruise.
  5. How did that happen? Was it really a price drop, or you used some credits you had to offset the difference?
  6. Your son should have received 100.00, even if he only had the 1.00 deposit. That is what we received on a cancelled cruise with that 1.00 deposit.
  7. Is it possible for you just to bring a RAT with you, and do it here in Canada? You can then use your hotel for wifi and get the test proctored.
  8. I hope you get a hotel with a decent view, it is pretty beautiful there. I was just refreshing my memory about what happens, and it used to say on the CDN. Govt. Site that it was the responsibility of the cruise line to pay for the isolation- not you pay and get reimbursed. I can not find that section today….
  9. Some of it does seem crazy. I see they have to test negative before boarding in Seattle, for entry to Canada, which is several days after the cruise starts. So…could be as much as a week later. I’m not sure that is really helpful, since someone could have picked it up while on the ship and Be quite sick before they ever reach Canada.
  10. Thanks for your response. It worries me a bit about your vaccination and test results, though.
  11. The sock part got me. We went on a 14 night Caribbean cruise and my hubby packed only one pair of dark coloured socks… yep, he wore them every night that he had to wear pants, so… every night as we ate in the MDR.
  12. I don’t understand why you didn’t do the test upon entering Canada. If people choose to come here, they should be prepared for the request of the random test. I’m not sure you got good advise from the border staff. Watch your email, you could get a letter asking why you haven’t submitted it, as requested. Princess didn’t need to see your results when you boarded, as you should have already submitted them electronically. Or.. were you actually going to show them at the port instead? How long ago was your cruise? I am attaching bits of the information from the Canadian website. I am curious to know if our Government is doing what it says it is doing.
  13. Since I was not getting the correct answer my own question, I did not bother asking what it meant.
  14. Here is the answer I got today from the online chat feature. I’m not happy to tell you, just posting what was shown to me today. The part where she says she understands that has to do with my own issue with Princess.
  15. Well, hello! I see you are going on the Discovery shortly after we get off. I hope you are doing well and enjoying life. Maybe we will meet up again soon.
  16. I don’t know about Mary Sunshine, but more time spent enjoying your cruise, instead of looking for problems might help. Stop reminding yourself about what went wrong last time, and just staying in the moment should also help. Of course, we have had mishaps over the years, like a backed up toilet, but I don’t go on vacation to just to see if it will happen again, or remind myself of negative memories… I hope you find the right cruise line that suits your needs better, and brings you happiness. I also hope your last cruise with Princess is an enjoyable experience for you, and your family, if you travel with one.
  17. Haha… well, I’m not sure about falsifying, but they will point you towards the buffet. But…I know better, since that learned from a friend, just like the MDR is open on disembarkation day…that’s such a nice way to end the cruise, instead of the packed buffet with everyone’s luggage everywhere.
  18. You made a great decision. I’ve also dismissed those forward balconies as I’m also short and don’t see the point of a balcony, if I can’t see the ocean while seated. We love the obstructed view cabins. We lucked out and got E425 for our next cruise.
  19. It is available to pre book for our Sept. 25th cruise. I was hoping to use some OBC, which it won’t let me use now, unlike excursions…so I guess I’ll wait until we board. The cost for the pre booking is 125.00 CAD. for the UBD.
  20. We might do that as well, but in Canadian dollars it makes it over 100.00… and our flight isn’t until 4:15 pm. Maybe I’ll have OBC left to burn.
  21. I actually don’t care for that level of “service”. I feel it isn’t always sincere and can feel a bit fake. I worked in a customer facing customer service career for 25 years… you had 10 seconds to greet the customer by name or you got in trouble by management. I did like it when my room steward saw me on the hall, and said Hi. I guess he had his iPad handy, but I felt he at least tried to remember my name on his own. I am always taking notes and give the staff that deserve it credit when I complete my survey, too. I know how important those surveys are. I also don’t keep my medallion on me any more than I have to. I just have hubby carry his. Princess already knows enough about me, and your folio tells them a lot, too. Dollars spent in the casino charged to your cabin… I have cruised lots and usually used cash there, - but that is because I don’t need my husband seeing it on the folio😉but last time I used my OBC and a casino offer came about 2 weeks later. Hmmm.. Anyways, I hope you love all the attention, that’s what makes Princess great. There something for everyone.
  22. Have you ever looked at pictures of your existing cabins? I think I’d want to keep my old room, if the view was ok. We often choose obstructed views, and they are good value for money. Having said that, I’ve always wanted to try Deck 5, right near the Piazza. I don’t think I’d chance everyone moving, if I was the one who booked the cabins. Will the other people complain? That would be my luck.. 5 other cabins of unhappy people because of the change. What were the cabin numbers on the Emerald deck?
