  1. You can host a meet and greet. Although I don’t know if carnival actually gets involved anymore. But yes, people plan them through the roll calls. yes I do think the steak house is worth it, and yes there’s a free bottle of wine the first night. yes you can bring a bottle of wine per adult. I’ve never been on the pride so I cannot comment.
  2. On Mardi Gras this past January, we had an ocean suite. We boarded with the Diamond/plat/suites group, so early.. we went directly to our room. Our intention was to leave our bags and get lunch. But, our room was ready with the keys already in the mailbox, so we stayed. No one had an issue with it or said anything.
  3. It can be a mad dash depending on what your needs are. Do you want an early arrival appointment? Those seem to go the fastest. If you don’t mind arriving at noon or after it’s probably not as urgent. But if you’re after one of those highly sought after 10:30 or 11am time slots, I’d suggest to check in ASAP.
  4. On the Mardi Gras I 100% can confirm that if the balcony door is open the air conditioner doesn’t run. So I think maybe it’s a newer feature. But if you’d prefer the ocean breeze/sound I guess it’s not hurting anything but the temperature in your own room.
  5. Yeah, they check boarding passes when being directed to the priority lounge. So I think they would have to be I. Your cabin with the boarding document that says priority. When boarding the Mg in January, they checked our boarding pass probably 3 times. Once entering the terminal, then we were directed to the priority lounge where they looked again, and then once boarding was called they checked before we got to the gangway.
  6. I was in a suite on Mardi Gras in January and I used the regular line. The sign didn’t say suites so I wasn’t sure if I could, so I didn’t. The sign said diamonds, platinum, fttf.
  7. It’s a nice hotel and there’s a pool. We’ve stayed here pre-cruise and we enjoyed it. They’re very nice rooms. Totally worth it IMO. Greg, safe travels home! Have a safe flight.
  8. In the future, you could have tried to get a day room at the hotel in the airport. Not sure what it would have cost, but they do offer them. You could have at least gotten a nap in!
  9. Yeah I’m a surgical scrub tech on a labor and delivery unit. I’m not working from home, ever. I’m happy for people that do that, but that’s just not me.
  10. I’m going to try to keep this organized. But I have questions that keep coming to mind. My twins are 4 right now and we already have another cruise booked in 2024 with carnival that we aren’t willing to cancel. Ok, so here goes… When does Disney post sailings past 5/2024. We already have carnival booked 6/2024. Does Disney have rooms with 2 tv’s? Are connecting cabins easy to come by? Does Disney offer a drink package? We’re not big drinkers but we like everything paid for ahead of time! Finally, does Disney ever do discounts or kids sail free promotions I should look out for? Thanks for the help, I’m just completely clueless with Disney.
  11. I’d love to do one, but I could never get away from work that long. I just feel like carnival’s primary demographic is too young to be able to get away to do it.
  12. Yes but think of how many children are on board that are much smaller than the 150lb average.
  13. This past January on the Mardi Gras I was able to on the premium package no problem.
  14. Yes, as others have stated, room service drinks aren’t included on cheers. But I thought it would be a real downer and it just wasn’t. We spent way more time sitting at the bars than we thought we would. And occasionally we did bring drinks back. But as others said, you can always do a bottle of wine or a bucket of beer and take that back to your cabin.
  15. I saw this hotel offered a shuttle to the port. Can anyone tell me what the shuttle costs? Also would an Uber be cheaper for 4 people and 4 luggage from the hotel to the port?
  16. I too wonder what will happen when the emergency declaration ends. I know Biden has stated he will end it, I forget when. But, with that ending I could easily see it going back. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to do it the old way, but I see it coming.
  17. I know they’re not hand cut, but I liked the new ones on the Mardi Gras a few weeks ago. To think of the amount of work that likely saves on, I’m ok with it.
  18. We were on deck 14 midship by the elevator where 11308 would be. We never had any issues. No noise, foot traffic for sure went by my room but we never had any issues. It was convenient and saved a lot of steps. I wouldn’t hesitate to book that location again.
  19. I’d personally like the family harbor suite if it also has a balcony. The convenience of the family harbor lounge is so nice!
  20. Thank God!! There’s nothing worse than the old muster… the new one is so easy peasy!
  21. I’m reading along! Thanks for sharing your vacation with us!
  22. Ok, and if we would decide to drive and that’s a big IF. Is the parking garage near the port secure? Like trustworthy? I don’t want to come back to busted windows and a stolen catalytic converter. (That’s probably just paranoia)
  23. Absolutely! My husband is cheap and he got exactly what he paid for!
  24. Somehow a Carnival Mardi Gras hurricane glass ended up in my suitcase this past cruise too. 😬
