  1. I cruised on a knee scooter, not a motorized scooter. I really did not need any special lines or special treatment. I will say that the crew was very accommodating ans helpful when I left my knee scooter and used my cane when I got in line for the buffet or taking my seat in the main auditorium.
  2. I thought Sprite was a Coke product. Carnival only provides Pepsi products, right?
  3. I've been on cruises where I didn't know who the CD was. I have cruised with a couple of big names, Matt Mitchell and Dr. E a couple of times. CDs really don't make or break a cruise for me.
  4. I have had a few facials on the ship and they are great.
  5. The Hubs gave me 200.00 for Christmas to spend at the spa on our upcoming cruise. Not sure what I'll spend it on yet, maybe a facial.
  6. Please read the fine print and see exactly what is covered and how much. We have never bought cruise line insurance. We have bought Alliance on previous cruises. We purchased a policy with Nation Wide for our upcoming cruise. It might be a little bit more, but you give so much more extensive coverage.
  7. Guys for breakfast doesn't appeal to me at all, not that anyone asked. 🙃 There are so many other choices. I recently discovered Blue Iguana for breakfast. A breakfast burrito, who knew??
  8. We did stay for the entire meal. Awkward! I apologized, of coursed, but she was having none of it. I am not a big person, but I did have on a full skirt. There was simply not enough room between tables.
  9. The table are ridiculously close together. On an elegant night we were shown to a table with just a few inches clearance on either side. I had on a full skirt and actually dragged a woman's plate across the table when I was trying to get seated. She was irate and I was terribly embarrassed.
  10. Was this with Carnival? We have always done YTD even before the Hub àpp and have never heard of this.
  11. When my kids were growing up, we never went to Disney. They never really voice a great desire to go. There are plenty of big theme parks locally. They took their children Disney and they were one and done. They have virtually priced the average family out. Things are super expensive everywhere, but affordable family vacations is still available. We're cruising with my son and family for the first time. They are successful people and are struggling with the price for a family of 4.
  12. I still get all excited with the first sight of the ship and with my first Fun Ship Special. I hate it, but a lot of the rest has lost a little of the luster.
  13. True, but you're not stuck with them in the middle of the ocean.
  14. If I'm not happy with cruising, I should find something else?? Gee, I wish I thought of that. 😉 My first cruise was 2009. Not so long ago I guess, but I've seen some major changes. Don't get me wrong, I don't give a darn about the omlettes, but I do miss some other perks. I'm not saying I'm through with cruising, I'm just not as enamored with it as I once was. We've done some pretty great road trips the past few years and had great times.
  15. We never cruise in the summer or around spring and Christmas breaks to avoid a lot of kids. We absolutely avoid spring break booze cruises because of the college kids. We haven't observed any fights, but we have witness our share of rude passengers..
  16. I failed to mention supply and demand. I get it. The nickle and diming is annoying. But, again, the allure of cruising is just not the same. From unruly children, fighting, and the entitled attitude of many passengers has me rethinking cruising. I'm not trying to speak for others. (I hate that) For us, cruising is just not what I fell in love with many years ago.
  17. The omelette post got me to thinking. With all the changes in cruising, along with the price increases in the cost of bookings, the increase in specialty dining, cut backs, etc., what is the future in cruising? We used to order a bottle of vodka for our cabin at around $85, now it's way up over $100/. It used to be a very affordable vacation. It's just not the same. I do realize that costs are up all over, but the cruise industry is having a boom season so why all the increases?. They keep building mega ships with the anticipation of filling all the cabins. Have you seen the prices for the newest RC ship?? I just think it's sad.
  18. I haven't paid much attention to this thread because the omelettes are a non issue for me. Out of boredom I started reading some of the posts. It seems to me that the more the cruise lines cut back the more people cruise. This year was a record year for cruising and next year is predicted to beat out this year. So it seems the cut backs are having little effect on cruising. We haven't cruised since 2019. We had 3 cruises canceled in the following year or so. We decided to take a few years off and do land based vacays. Coming back to cruising, it's obvious cruising isn't what it was. After our booked May cruised, I doubt we'll be cruising yearly like we previously did.
  19. We've seen the show Flick twice on two different cruises. The last time we cruised was in 2019 before the lock down. I see they are still showing Flick on current cruises. Time for a change.
  20. We always get a Funship Special as soon as we board. That's our we have arrived moment.
  21. Same for me. We're big Cloud 9 spa people and my first "whiff" if the spa makes me happy.
  22. I've only sailed out of 6 ports. As far as my favorite sail away, I would have to say Miami. As far as a convenient port, it would be Charleston.
