  1. Ship is docking at 7:30 a.m. We have until 1:30 in Key West.

Would like a recommendation for a good breakfast place in Key West, and then we want to just walk around Duvall Street and Mallory Square.

Our ship docks in Outer Mole, so I was told I need to take the shuttle into town. Any one in particular? Cost?

  2. We only have a few hours in Key West (7:30 am to 1:00 pm) and I thought we would just walk around Duvall Street and Mallory Square. How far is it from the dock to Duvall Street? Can we just walk there?

  3. OK, that changes my question a bit.

Please recommend a good restaurant on Miami Beach (is that also South Beach?) for dinner Sunday night, and then a restaurant within walking distance of our hotel in Miami for breakfast on Monday morning.

    Thank you!

  4. Daughter and i are staying pre-cruise at the Miami Beach Intercontinental. Can we please have some recommendations of restaurants for both Sunday evening and breakfast on Monday morning, within walking distance of our hotel?

Daughter is a vegetarian, but I will eat pretty much anything. We do both enjoy great cocktails and a good wine list for dinner.

    Thanks for suggestions!!

  5. I'm reading the pros and cons of FttF and I see people discussing having to drag their luggage around until their room is ready if not choosing FttF.

I have not sailed Carnival before, but have cruised other lines, and this confuses me. Does Carnival not allow you to check in your bags when queuing up to board? Does one need to haul your own luggage to your room?

    Confused . . .

  6. I am interested in hearing an answer to this, as well.

My 25 yo daughter and I are going to Paradise Beach as soon as we get into port, until 5 or 6, but want to know what to do after that, until 10 pm?

  7. Thank you very much for the info. Paradise Beach looks like the way we will go.

Do these beach clubs ever fill up and turn people away? Just wondering since you cannot make reservations.

  8. I am looking at leaving on a cruise Feb 16 out of New Orleans, because I'm getting a CRAZY low price for it.

Am I going to be sorry, because of Mardi Gras? When do people start arriving for the upcoming Festival?

I've never been to New Orleans, so I don't know what to expect. Do you think the cruise will just be an extension of Mardi Gras, on the ship?

  9. Please use this format for posting your cabin reviews. Feel free to add photos or links to photos also.

    SHIP: Equinox

    CABIN #: 7253

    DECK #: 7

    CLASS: Veranda

    AREA: Aft

    BED NEAR: Bathroom

    QUIET?: Yes, very quiet

BALCONY VIEW: Good. Lifeboats 2 levels below, but not a problem

    BALCONY SIZE: normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: 2 decks almost directly above 5th deck smoking area. Smoke smell was constant and a problem for us.

  10. We are in our first port day (Villefranche) on the 13 night Equinox Med cruise. I happy to report the ship, service, food and beverage package are exactly as I remembered Celebrity to be. We have a sommelier at dinner who attends to us wonderfully. There are fewer glasses of wine that exceed our premium package than there are included. I am a happy cruiser!

  11. Thank you for trying to get to the bottom of this on behalf of those of us that bought these packages in good faith. I agree with the bolded.

Just checking, but when Celebrity Cruises posts here on Cruise Critic...are we sure it's really them? I mean, can't it be anyone that decides to use that as their user name? Just wondering...

I was wondering the same thing. However we have people on the ships who are confirming this, right?

  12. OK just heard from her. I showed her the communication from Celebrity on this message board. She was thoroughly disgusted that no one had communicated this change to her. She is going to move this up the chain and call our ship (Equinox) as well to see what their understanding of the new package is. She said the "$9" per glass wine limit looked like a typo. I assured her it was not. She communicated that she probably would not be ale to get back with me until after we board, because of having to go through a bunch of channels. So I really have nothing, other than letting everyone know that now the Omaha office is aware of the change in the Classic Package. Unbelievable that WE had to let them know about it.

  13. On the assumption that the person you speak to tomorrow has no idea who "celebrity cruises" is, please get the reps name and post it so "celebrity cruise" can find the rep. Or send the name to Andy who can forward the csr name to the celebrity cruise person. Maybe we can help celebrity communications inside their own hq.

Already have that. The reps name is Kara Scott. She really was very willing to help me out and was absolutely agreeing to how frustrated we all are about this.

  14. The Celebrity rep posted on each of the threads discussing the Classic package. One was started by me. I'm not on the computer but my phone but I think it was around the 19th May. If you do a Member search using Celebrity as the user name then click on Celebrity it let's you see all the posts they've made. Then you should find it.

Lucky the ship service is better than the land service.

Found it, Pushka. I also found the post where Celebrity said they were working on the Premium package and should have something for us soon (8 days ago).

I'll post tomorrow after I speak with her at 9 a.m EST.

  15. You are going to be the first to tell us lol When you board post on CC and give us first hand info ! You will probably beat X ! You are going to have a great cruise and maximize your Premium Pkg! Think Dragonfly at the Molecular Bar! I have to wait until Oct:(

I think you may be right! I'm sure I'll have a great time!

At this point, it's more the principle of the way Celebrity is handling this whole mess. It's unbelievable to me that their CSR's have not been informed about the changes to the Classic Package. Makes me think I will need to print the "official" Celebrity statement on things and bring them on board with us.

  16. I have the celebrity csr calling me back tomorrow morning. She would like me 2 walk her through the cruise critic message board and pinpoint where celebrity posted the new classic beverage package because no one in her csr office is aware of any changes. It is unbelievable to me that celebrity didn't even notify the customer service representatives of the change. Can someone point me to where Celebrity posted the updated classic package information?
