  1. That's what I have! Runny nose and a wet drippy cough. I don't know if it is a souvenir from the cruise or something I picked up here.
  2. Not yet. But I don't see why it wouldn't work. IHealth monitored seems to be off the table for now. We have a lot of 'free' covid tests that are FDA approved and listed as acceptable by them. If testing is still required in September, that is probably who we will use.
  3. Funny, quick story. Many years ago, on Song of America, we were on the shuttle bus back to port from one of the Mexico port stops. The Activities Director boarded carrying this huge (kind of heavy) box, that he put down in the seat next to him. He was right in front of us, and I asked what it was. He said, "Mexican tiled sink". After further conversation, he had collected about 30 of them, and he was storing them in an empty crew cabin next to his own. He planned to sell them when he returned to the UK. I've always wondered how that turned out.
  4. We are looking forward to hearing more about your cruise. How was dinner with your new friends? Hopefully you are out enjoying the evening as well.
  5. The first 2 are legal because you are sailing and disembarking at a foreign port. Then embarking at a foreign port and returning to (the same ) US port. There is no transporting between 2 different US ports. If there was such a thing, you could sail from Seattle to Vancouver on one cruise, and then Vancouver to Seattle on your next.
  6. I believe it would be acceptable. San Juan is specifically mentioned in the PVSA as an exception and for some reason gets to skate on the requirements. Our last Panama Canal cruise was San Juan to San Diego and our most foreign port was Guatemala. The others were Mexico. And obviously the NJ to San Juan with ABC stops is a legal sailing. Nice itinerary!
  7. Tag the poster. @the fish Or maybe someone else knows the answer.
  8. Always take the refund if that is an option. Cash provides many more opportunities of your own choosing rather than a future cruise credit. RCL was providing a 25% bonus on FCC's for a while, which lured many into accepting them.
  9. That does sound really bad. The ones we have participated in have always seemed to have friendly participation. I never really paid attention to the card thing. And I can't imagine taking all that money to another game. It should have been redistributed.
  10. I never thought about it, but it doesn't really matter to me. I never earn enough points on my own to receive any perks, so if my buy in helps someone else receive benefits, that's fine with me. Or each person could insert their own card for their play?
  11. Don't say it like that. It's not your fault that it is so contagious. I'm just sorry you can't spend the cruise with Mike. And I hope it is not too boring in the cabin. It really would be nicer if you were already at home and feeling crappy. I feel very sorry for you.
  12. OH NO Renee! That's terrible news. I guess you will have the definitive word on the soup containers.
  13. So, Twangster sticking his hand in the Serenade Solarium pool for you and posting that it is heated is not evidence enough? Gosh, you sound pedantic. Enjoy your cruise.
  14. If it is not on Edit Check-in on the app, you can ask them to change it when you physically check in at the pier.
  15. Try sleeping with a pillow in between your knees. They make special knee pillows, but I just use a regular old pillow. It really helps.
  16. It is just such an unusual concept for us. I mentioned it to Bill about whether we have anything that is similar. He said, <jk> We could go to the casino and see the indigenous people? That would be truly different to have large communities with such a different lifestyle and way of life.
  17. Out of curiosity, what does it mean when you go see the Amish? Do they have crafts or stores or something of interest? They look very interesting, and they don't have communities here.
  18. The Solarium pools were heated when we were in Alaska on Serenade. IIRC they had 2 hours of "family" swim time every afternoon where they relaxed the solarium age rules.
  19. Congratulations! I was all excited that you found it, but Tortola is only 7AM-3PM. I will have Bill take a look at it.
  20. I would much rather have it at home and not onboard.
  21. The other thread with more testing experiences (including ours) is here:
  22. I think they don't have enough proctors for demand. My husband had a problem when he took his test and the proctor never returned to review his results. The company is very near us, and I was able to get in contact (callback) with customer service and we worked it out. But their customer service is only 8:30-5 Pacific time. I wouldn't count on being able to contact them from other locations.
