  1. Yes, Re-positioning from Winter cruises in Africa with several itinerary changes because they not sail in the Red Sea or the Suez Canal. Heading for Barcelona, Spain and finally Southampton, Great Britain and Her summer season.
  2. The Dawn is NOT in Gambia, She is in Daktar, Senegal.
  3. The Dawn is currently docked in Dakar, Senegal. Hoping that those who want to continue the journey to Barcelona, Spain will be able to re-board.
  4. I think if they sued NCL, it would probably have to be in the Bahamas. You might be able to sue in the Federal District Court in Miami but they probably have a large backlog of cases, might take two or three years before you could get a court date.

  6. There areas along the edge of the pool deck where there is shade. There is a little shade area outside of the buffet( back of the ship Deck12) in the Great Outdoors. Deck 7, the Promenade Deck, there should be some deck chairs in the shade.
  7. Still would be pretty full. Better option would be either Taste or Savor
  8. Have you heard from your daughter in the last few hours? How is she doing?
  9. Probably packed especially right now in Spring Break cruises. Taste or Savor (MDR's) would be a better choice.

  11. You have never sailed out of Astoria, Oregon (across the Columbia River Bar-- one of the most dangerous places in the world). Bar (or Harbor) are among the most dangerous jobs in the world.
  12. Remember that this was NOT an NCL sponsored shore excursion.
  13. Prayers for you and for your daughter. I pray that she finally arrives home safely.
  14. Will still be a couple of days before they reach Dakar, Senegal, since they are not going to Gambia tomorrow. As I understand it, the ship was out in the bay and they were using the lifeboats as tenders. The lifeboats had been brought on board and stored. The boarding platform and ladder had been secured. The only way to have boarded at point would have been through the hatch like a Harbor Pilot jumping from the ship to the Pilot boat. Much Much to dangerous for passengers to try. Imagine the screams if someone had fallen into the ocean and died because they could NOT make the jump.
  15. I saw a posting after I wrote this one to say that Gunner had retired. There have been a couple other Father and son(s) working for NCL. At one time, Lars Bengtsson and all three of his sons were with NCL. Captain Zeljko Jurac has a son currently a Bridge Officer on The Breakaway.
  16. Probably will not know until Monday. At the moment the Dawn is 7 hours ahead of Pacific Daylight Time.
  17. The Dawn is scheduled to arrive in Gambia on Monday April 1st.
  18. Chefs Table has not been offered on any NCL ship in several years.
  19. What does Captain Svedung or the Gem have to do with this situation on the Dawn? Last I knew (several months ago), Captain Svedung was on the Joy.
  20. To answer your question, I am not sure any NCL ship has a regulation sized "pickleball court". I would ask once on board where you could play. Looks like it is a lot of fun and a lot of exercise.
  21. Hi, I hope the rest of your cruise goes well. How did your Officers' Dinner go? Before I forget, I pray that you have an uneventful journey home. I also pray that your Jewel adventure goes well. BIG BIG BIG BIG HUG Love and prayers always Mandy
  22. A valid US Military ID should work. I never go anywhere without my Military ID.
  23. Wonder if they would have a separate gate for crew and all you would need is your Crew Member ID??
