  1. Haha! Okay that at least makes me feel better. Sure wish they had a user friendly app, I dislike using websites.
  2. Yes I was thinking it might be because there are other bookings with different promotions and that is why the 2 beverage packages are shown. But why does it give me a price for picking the package I am already supposed to have included at no extra charge? Not just an option to upgrade? In fact, I can’t find anything in my online booking which indicates I have a package at all. 🤷‍♀️ Glad I have a hard copy showing amenities. But thank you, I’ll have to call.
  3. Hi all! First time Oceania cruiser here. I just booked a cruise for October under the New Years Sale with the Simply more promo. My invoice says “simply more house beverage package” under amenities and gifts, and yet when I go to manage my account I see “view and shop beverage packages” - then I have a choice of “House Select - wine + beer by the glass w/meals” (for a tidy sum!) or the premiere package (for an even tidier sum! Haha!) Presently “none” is selected. 😳 What the heck? Is this a website glitch? Anyone else? I was able to use my shore excursion credit and all selections appear in my account. So confused.
  4. https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/powerhouse-typhoon-bolaven-will-impact-alaska-and-have-downstream-impacts-on-us/ar-AA1i6WB8?ocid=sapphireappshare Oh jeeze! This doesn’t sound great.
  5. Well that would certainly be a more acceptable reason IMHO. I hope it is true! Thanks for the info! 👍🏻🙂🤞🏻🤞🏻 (Either way and based on anecdotal information, we are ready for some wild seas. 😬 I am perfectly fine with weather related schedule changes)
  6. Wow. Patronizing much? 10 pm. Mid October. Alaska. As far as I’m concerned the ship already lacks entertainment and I was looking forward to seeing ONE theatre production. Now cueing you to say “Go sail xxxx - more room for us!” As seems to be the norm here when anyone voices a criticism. 🙄 (Oh, and I don’t drink beer)
  7. 😳 I’ve been on ships in really rough seas and I actually love to be rocked to sleep, but I’ve never been slammed out of my bed! Yikes! That would have shaken me up also! Leaving on the Encore to Alaska this weekend. Now I’m nervous. 😬
  8. So would we assume they are changing performing groups and the last 2 Alaskan cruises just get shortchanged during the interim? Does NCL ever bring in one-off entertainers like other cruise lines? Doesn’t seem so….I’m annoyed. Go to the box office to book what??
  9. These are the 2 last cruises of NCL Alaskan schedule. Probably something to do with that. (Contracts). I doubt they are cancelling the show on other sailings…. I’m still bummed. Music here and there in small spaces and game shows sure don’t make up for losing a big production show in the theatre. 😤
  10. Ah crap! I was hoping it might have been a one evening “issue”. 🙁
  11. Yep. On same cruise. Just received the notice of cancellation. Hope this doesn’t mean that we won’t be seeing it at all (but I suspect that might be the case) Disappointing because i was already thinking the entertainment on this ship seemed pretty dismal. (I enjoy production shows on ships).
  12. That’s what I get for skimming threads! 😬 Feel rather foolish now! Haha! Carry on!
  13. I might be an outlier but I look forward to some kind of show production or one-off guest performer in the theater each evening on a cruise ship. Disappointed that our sailing will only have one big production. I don’t care how sophisticated this new game show thing will be - classified the same as bingo and trivia in my books - which is a big ol’ blech! 🤷‍♀️ 😣
  14. This would have been ideal for us sailing on the Encore. We plan on visiting my brother in Victoria after the cruise, but not willing to jump through the hoops to get off the cruise early in Canada. (Didn't even know this was a thing). We have booked a hotel in Seattle and will take the Clipper ferry back to Victoria the next morning.
  15. Oh yuck! I refuse to watch game shows on TV - sure not interested in any on a cruise.
  16. We’re on the same cruise with the same issue with a NCL excursion in Ketchikan. Tour time stated 10:30 - 1pm. (Ship to depart 1:15pm) I’m sure Norwegian will get us back to port on time. Wish we had a bit more wiggle room though, suspect the excursion will be curtailed a tad. 🤨
  17. So a non-refundable deposit isn’t returned even if the cruise line cancels the cruise? I will certainly keep this in mind. 🫤👍🏻
  18. Oh I know passenger rights by law are country specific (and I’m rather envious of my European friends because they seem to have more protections than those of us in the US) BUT in this case the cruise line cancelled the cruise - how in the heck can they keep ANY money?? 🤷‍♀️
  19. Absolutely! There has got to be something more to this. If NCL cancelled the cruise how can they keep the deposit?! 😳 Passenger’s country of residence shouldn’t matter. 🤨
  20. I apparently can book it for $129 each - so $258! (Oh wait, minus the $50 excursion credit - so only $208) Are you flippin’ kidding me?! That is ridiculous. 😐 We don’t have Latitude status.
  21. We had booked airfare to Seattle for a family visit in Mid-October. Unfortunately plans have since changed and we needed to find accommodation for the first week - so I booked an Alaskan cruise. Mid - October! 😳 I still can’t even believe any ship is sailing that late in the season and there is a cruise after us! (Norwegian)…expecting horrible weather but we are treating it as a reasonably priced hotel. I doubt we will be able to see/do much of anything. 🤷‍♀️
  22. Totally agree with this. Port specific VAT tax info would be helpful. (This issue isn’t unique to Spain - we are cruising Alaska from Seattle and I’m still unclear about additional taxes 🤷‍♀️)
