  1. No problem, all I can think is because we had done the deviation which covers the non gateway part! We were surprised too! Especially surprised when they told us the 30 day plus or minus rule.
  2. Still laughing about the rug. Hopefully George made enough at the Casino to pay for it! Sounds like a great tour. What was it called?
  3. I did the TA this past April. Paid for a deviation so I could go a day early to Miami, and come home 15 days later after the cruise. Traveled in Spain and Portugal before returning home. Learned you are allowed to deviate up to 30 days with Regent air deviation, and they had no problem booking me from an entirely different city. Very nice. I had Economy to Miami on American. Regent put me on Iberia Business class for all flights home! I happened to go Porto (was on a river cruise after the TA) to Madrid to LAX to Tucson. Both my Porto to Madrid and my LAX to Tucson (AA) were business class which I wasn't expecting! I really like Iberia (great 1-2-1 flatbed setup with very good food and wine), but I would look for at least a 3 hour layover in Madrid to change planes. 2 hours was barely enough.
  4. @Cruise Critic Chris I just read your thread on Azamara Onward, and would be interested to know after you experience the Mariner if you think someone used to cruising on Regent would be happy on Azamara. Thanks.
  5. We did the Douro cruise in April 2014 on Viking Hemming. That is a lifetime ago in cruising! 8 years plus covid.
  6. Definitely used magnets over the desk on Splendor in an F2.
  7. Only the transfer from the hotel to port is attached to the hotel stay. Transfer airport to hotel is attached to the air, and is not provided if you arrange your own air or take a deviation.
  8. Agree with you about Iberia. Regent booked it for me from Porto, Portugal home to Tucson, and I thought it was great. Funny, I thought the cabin was a little warm too. No self controlled vent.
  9. Bon Voyage! We will love to hear from you all whenever time / internet permits, but port intensive cruises are very tiring! Just visited Portugal 6 weeks ago and loved it!
  10. So sorry to hear this! Prayers for all of you. Hope the cruise will be healing for you. But,.... Thanks for taking us along! We haven't had a "Live" thread in awhile.
  11. We chose a Swan cabin on the Scenic Azure on the Douro. I am short, so could not see out the window. Also the cabin on this ship is smaller than a standard French balcony or balcony cabin. The twin beds could be made up separately, but not physically separated. The person on the window side bed could not walk between the bed and the wall. The bathroom was very tiny, especially the shower. We spent all our time up on the upper decks, which is not unusual for a river cruise. I think this cabin would work fine for a single, but it felt very tight for two people. My conclusion is that I definitely need a full size window when I sail, and my travel buddy needs a larger bathroom. (We visited a "regular" cabin and found the sized much more to our liking.)
  12. Here is the complimentary wine list on Splendor in April. Post #38
  13. On our April TA on Splendor, they expected us to bring our reusable water bottles on excursions.
  14. When Regent booked me from Portugal to Tucson, they had me on Iberia the whole way, which was a non-stop to LAX from Madrid. If you do pay for the deviation, ask them about using Iberia. Loved it.
  15. On our Douro river cruise with a pre-cruise extension, even though our TA kept reminding Scenic that we would be leaving 3 weeks beforehand, they never did send the documents and backpack before we left. Came while we were gone. That said, all travel documents were also emailed to us, and none are necessary for traveling. The Scenic transfer was waiting for us in baggage at the Lisbon airport just as the email told us he would be. Is there something in the documents that you think you need to have in hand?
  16. Bill - American Airlines just gives you an inexplicable error if you try to book to Japan right now! I tried to change a flight from June to December, got the error, called customer service, they tried, got an error, and finally determined they aren't booking ANY now. Martha We will now return you to the Topic of the Post!
