  1. Welcome back home, where a blustery cold front rolled in to the Metroplex over the weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 90’s. Back at temps over 100 starting tomorrow and continuing for at least the next 10 days.
  2. I guess I didn’t realize you were on the Allure. You’re docked in Galveston.
  3. 1. I was about to comment that a nap would be a great idea during a thunderstorm, but then I heard that same comment on your video. 2. There HAS to be an option for avoiding the closure of I-45 tomorrow. Waze or Google Maps do a great job of rerouting me around traffic issues. 3. I can’t even fathom 971 days on a cruise ship.
  4. First LHHS and now UNT. What other commonalities do we have?
  5. I was on the Celebration on June 25. 1. Debarkation at ports is very easy if you don't rush there as soon as debarkation starts. We had the same itinerary. 2. I really enjoyed the Celestial Strings and the circus themed shows. You HAVE to get there early (you're late if you're 30 minutes early) to get a decent seat, or else you'll only see portions of the shows. 3. On the main counter, there are 3 outlets and 4 USB ports. There is also a USB port on each side of the bed.
  6. Can’t be too many people named Imade from Indonesia working for Carnival. I just checked my notes from previous cruises, and I dealt with Imade on the Freedom in 2019. edit to add his picture
  7. YES! I can eat in peace now. Maybe toss that tag in the water? Go have a few more drinks - and maybe some Pepto Bismol for the upset stomach.
  8. I have to leave soon to go to a dinner for my mother’s 80th. This better be resolved by then so I don’t have to constantly be hitting refresh on my phone to get updates. (I’m sure you want it resolved quickly, too.)
  9. While the theory that the porter thought you were getting OFF the ship sounds OK, it also doesn’t make sense. Why would a passenger give a porter their luggage after they’re already off the ship and out of the luggage area?
  10. I had to look up JG’s, as it wasn’t there when I lived there. I lived near the intersection of Abrams-Forest. My HS was Lake Highlands.
  11. I, too, lived not too far from the original Chili’s. The line to get in there sometimes was ridiculous, but worth it. Two other great burger places along Greenville Ave. were the Feed Bag and the Filling Station.
  12. No. Woody’s is a BBQ joint. There’s a location on both the southbound side and the northbound side of I-45 in Centerville - same exit. There’s a gas station on both sides as well. Woody’s is busy, but Buc-ees is entirely too busy for my taste (no pun intended).
  13. On the Celebration last week, the chat feature rarely worked. Every time I tried to open the chat function, I just kept getting a screen that said, “trying to connect.”
  14. Just got back from the Celebration, and our fan was in our checked luggage with no problem. Of course, we embarked during the fiasco of the port of Miami being closed/delayed, so I’m not sure if our experience would have been different with a “regular” embarkation day.
  15. I’m close to having that muster briefing beat. I was in the Celebration on 6/25 that was delayed by the closing or the port of Miami. Once we boarded at 9:15 PM…..yes….PM, we went to muster. The guy scanned my card and handed it back to me and said, “thanks, you’re done.” Ummmm….WHAT? He said, “you’re gold…you’ve been through this before and know what you’re doing. Thanks.” Adios, amigo.
