  1. We will never be disappointed to have Bill D. Washington as one of the comedians on our cruises. He is fantastic, as is Cowboy Bill Martin. It was interesting that the cabanas for Amber Cove for our upcoming Celebration cruise were all sold out when the prices were in the $300 range. Now that they've raised the rates to nearly $500, the hillside and beach cabanas are suddenly available. Poolside and grand cabanas are sold out.
  2. As I previously mentioned, I'll be following this review closely since my wife and I will celebrate our 30th on the Celebration at the end of June. You always do a great job providing details.
  3. Questions on Mullett Bay. I see chairs and umbrellas. Is there a certain vendor from whom you "rent" those items? What is the cost? You indicated waiting to get back to town to use a bathroom. Are there no bathrooms at Mullett Bay? We stop there on our Celebration cruise, and we've never been to St. Marten.
  4. Been to St. Thomas twice, and both times we went to Coki Beach. We obviously love it there.
  5. If you’ve never followed a live cruise review with Meghan, fair warning….warn your liver.
  6. I lived at an apartment complex just a couple of miles from DFW airport after I graduated from college. In addition to all of their work trips, I was amazed at the number of trips the flight attendants who lived at the complex were able to take on their own time. (I even was able to take a free round trip flight to Vegas with one of them.) If people are guilting you, they’re just jealous since they don’t know the facts.
  7. I thought I was the only one who doesn’t trust the cloud. It was only a couple of years ago that I hit the bullet and bought a portable hard drive to save my thousands of pictures and files. I don’t even back up my iPhone to the cloud. Does that make us strange?
  8. In 2011, we had 4 consecutive balcony rooms on the Conquest for our entire family of 14. We were able to get all of the balcony dividers opened so that we could all congregate on the balcony(s). It was my 2nd ever cruise, and the first for most of the other family members. They couldn’t fit all 15 of us at the same table in the MDR, but we made do with 2 tables next to each other.
  9. None of the other beach excursions have stellar reviews, so I’m eagerly awaiting reviews for this excursion. Either that, or I’d really like to find a good beach excursion on my own.
  10. A few years ago, I discovered that I was to be on the same cruise as the woman who has cut my hair for over 20 years. Then, we found ourselves on the very same non-Carnival excursion. It’s funny how you usually see the very same people over and over throughout a cruise, and then when it comes to debarkation, you see people who you never saw for the entire week.
  11. There are some GREAT colors in the Caribbean waters (Antigua and St. Thomas rank near the top for me), but I’m hard pressed to find anything better than the waters in the Cozumel port.
  12. True, and it’s also the Mississippi, but I wouldn’t swim in either.
  13. I didn’t think it was possible to have more nasty looking water than leaving Galveston - until I see these waters out of NO.
  14. I USED to think that Campisi’s was IT, until I ate at the new Andrew’s American Pizza Kitchen at the NWC of Preston & Plano Parkway. Now I’m not that certain. They have 5 different styles - tavern, Dallas, New York, Detroit and Chicago. I had the Detroit style, and it blew me away. They have great beer selections as well.
  15. I don’t know if everyone has the same experience (“everyone” is probably an exaggeration), but our experience last summer soured us on LFK. As much as we loved the first visit in 2017, it would take a big persuasion to get us back there after the last visit. It seemed like their employees didn’t care about us. We also booked the monkey/sloth experience as part of the overall trip. Our customer problems are below: 1. The girl checking us in at the dock at Frenchy’s couldn’t bothered to look up from her paperwork when we showed up. 2. The shuttle driver who took us to sloths told us that it wasn’t a long walk from the sloths back to the dock to take us to LFK when we were finished. The problems to that solution were (a) my wife was mobility problems, (b) there was no sidewalk on which to walk, so we’d be walking on the street with several tight turns and (c) it was raining. The employee at the sloth place called LFK to let them know we needed a ride. A taxi driver took pity on us after about 20 minutes and took us to Frenchy’s at no charge (I tipped him, of course). 3. Despite our waiter telling us to the contrary when we arrived, you can NOT order from the full menu using their food coupons. You must order their “island lunch.” He suddenly became extremely rude when we were ready to leave and that we could not use the coupons. Since we didn’t come close to using our allotted food and drink coupons, I offered ALL of our unused coupons in exchange for our single order of chicken nuggets and a hamburger. It took about 15 minutes for the waiter to find SOMEONE to agree to the offer, but he sure rolled his eyes. 4. It seemed like every other independent tour operator was immediately available to take their customers back to the cruise pier from Frenchy’s, but not the LFK employees. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a LFK employee to take us back to the cruise pier, despite the previously not-to-be-bothered paperwork employee calling someone to take us back. 5. At the time of our visit, they allegedly didn’t have the ability to take payments by credit card, so it was cash only. That would have been nice to know beforehand. Even writing the above brings back my irritation.
  16. I immediately discounted that list when I saw Jen Baxter named as one of the 10 best. Someone earlier commented about nails on a chalkboard. That certainly fits my description of Jen. We've had the unfortunate luck of having her on 2 of our cruises.
  17. Like other Celebration reviews, I'm following this one, as I will be on the 6/25 sailing. I keep hoping for a picture that shows my all-time favorite Carnival employee, Dajana. She was one of the Alchemy bartenders on our Vista cruise last summer. She's on the Celebration right now, and I've read about her being at the Latitudes or Golden Jubilee bars. Of course, she could be at any of the other bars, too.
  18. I figured that was the case, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to comment about a limo outside the place.
  19. Surely your driver is hauling you around the island in something a little more sizable for the quantity of people. If not, then you're riding in style and can actually lay down and nap between stops (yes, I fully understand that the island is small and the stops are close together on that side of the island).
  20. I guess I've never seen this sign in your previous reviews of this place, but I audibly chuckled out loud just now.
