We have 70 photo albums from our 56 years of marriage .I also have many pictures of my childhood friends.

Thank you ,Marietta.As I told you last year my nephew died at age 41 and left three kids .Beside my great niece who is graduating college later this month her two brothers will be completing their first year of college this week.

This morning I woke up with zero vision in my right eye and a very bad headache.I called my Opthalmologist office and was told that my doctor is not working in the office close to where I live but in an office close to NYC. Two hours later we arrived at the office.I had several tests and everything was negative.I was referred to a NeuroOpthalmologist but his first appointment is May 15.I am feeling fine now but it was very scary this morning.

My granddog who predicted the winner of Survivor watched the entire Rangers game .My daughter sent me a picture.He is sleeping over in my house tonight because we are dog watching from tonight to Thursday.I am sure he will want to watch tonight’s game .

One of my great nieces sang one of the leads in Annie in Middle School.In HS she auditioned for every musical and appeared in all.After graduating she went to a College of the Arts and will be graduating later this month.She has a theatrical job waiting for her after graduation.Her father passed away 6 years ago.We are very proud of her.

As I posted several months ago my employer not only gave me free health insurance for life but free legal service and a death benefit .The latter was originally $2000.00 but just yesterday I received a letter stating the new benefit is $20,000.I assume it did not go up $18,000 but that I was not notified in previous years.That to me is an incentive to live longer.

Our next will be 57(January) In July I will be celebrating a big number birthday ending in a zero.I look in a mirror and I look so old.

Some doctors will bill insurance carriers for totally ridiculous amounts while others bill for correct amounts.I am familiar with procedure codes.Occasionally I will receive an EOB for a code for a one hour exam but the doctor saw me for 10 minutes.Frequently a Podiatrist will bill for surgery but in reality they scraped callous off my feet.If I get bills for the balance after Medicare and my secondary insurance I always call the doctors billing office and tell them I am not paying the charges billed to me. I go to two doctors who always inflate the bills.It is their billing companies and not them.

My next to last job was with an IPA.In my opinion it is a better option for medical doctors to be affiliated with an IPA than for said doctor to deal with Insurance companies and be subject to their determinations of URC. Would you agree ? I should say that I left the IPA in 1999 and there is a possibility that things have changed.

I was downsized after working 25 years for a company.I was offered free health insurance for life for not suing the company.There were no co-pays but I paid the co-insurance.Their insurance company was excellent and I opted to except it .Shortly thereafter the company ceased to exist and they were then an Aetna company .I am finding currently that many of the doctors that I would like to go to do not accept Aetna.I have a good Dental benefit with Aetna but many dentists do not accept the plan.

If you have insurance from a former employer you have to accept the insurance from said employer .The alternative is to buy your own insurance which would be very costly.

Toby’s sister is in the same situation.She is a retiree from the Department of Social Services.A cousin of mine is a retiree from the Health and Hospitals Corp and her husband from the FDNY and they all are talking about this constantly.Toby had insurance from the union representing the hospital she worked for but they switched to Aetna Medicare last year.Many of her doctors do not accept the insurance.

Thanks,Maryann.When my younger daughter (her aunt) was in college she spent her Junior year of college in the UK and loved the experience. My granddaughters father goes to the UK on business several times a year and that would mean that he could possibly see her if she opts to go to a school there. On May 14 she is going to Israel for 10 days with students from her college.She became very good friends with a student at her college who lives in Israel and came to the US to play basketball for the college.

My oldest granddaughter will be finishing her first year of college next week.She is in an Honors program.Due to the fact that her grades have been excellent she is being given the opportunity to spend her Junior year of college at a university in either the UK or Australia.
