  1. Roger graduated a year before me .I only had two years to watch him play.Connie Hawkins played in a park that I frequented and I had the opportunity to watch him play many times. Mike Woodson ,the current Head Coach of Indiana University has often said in interviews that Roger was his favorite player when he was growing up. One of my granddaughters is a student at Indiana. She has a very close friend who is on the Women’s basketball team.My granddaughter and her friend are going to speak to Woodson to tell him about my friendship with Roger .Perhaps he will be interested in conversing with me .
  2. I was also involved with another sports documentary. My best friend passed away from Covid on April 4,2020.He was a Hall Of Fame Handball player.A filmmaker from NJ was in the process of making a Documentary about my friend .He obtained my e-mail address from my friends wife. We had numerous e-mail conversations. He began filming in July 2019 and his last interview with my friend was in March. After my friend passed away he decided not to complete the film.Instead he took the footage that he had compiled and made it into a short film only to be viewed by my friends wife and children. My friends wife asked that a copy be sent to me.The film maker sent it to me and gave me permission to share it with anyone I knew who also knew my friend.
  3. Thanks Bonnie,we will be 13 adults tomorrow,1 teenager,2 toddlers and 1 dog.Thursday we will be 6 adults,1 teenager,1 toddler and 1 dog.
  4. I am glad that you liked the film.Roger and I were friends in HS.For some reason when male students were seated in the assembly they were in height order.Roger was 6’4 1/2 inches and I was 6’5.For two years every Wednesday we sat next to each other.I was at the March 15,1960 basketball game that was discussed in the film.It was the greatest game I ever saw in person. Fast forward to 2010,a documentary film maker in Indiana wanted to make a movie about Roger but knew very little of his early life.He got in touch with the President of our HS alumni assn and asked who he should talk to and she said Lenny…….She e-mailed me and asked if she can give the guy my e-mail address. We had 45 hours of conversation ,e-mail and phone. When the movie was finished he sent me a DVD and a very nice hand written letter.
  5. A zissen peach to you and family,Bonnie .We were supposed to be going to one of my daughters but instead everyone is coming to my house .
  6. In the early 60’s I went to every weekday game of the Knicks. For $5.00 I sat in the row directly in back of the Knicks players.Several would turn around and talk to the fans .I became very friendly with Len Chappell.
  7. Google Undefeated:The Roger Brown Story. It will bring you to a PBS on line video. If you are interested I will tell you after you watch it how I became involved with the making of the film.
  8. I graduated Brooklyn College .In hindsight I wish I had gone to an out of town college .My oldest daughter also graduated Brooklyn and my younger daughter went to an upstate SUNY college.None of us experienced what my granddaughter who is finishing her first year of college now.I am living the life of a college student through her. I have 6 great nephews/nieces who all are in college now out of town.

  13. My favorite basketball player of all time is Roger Brown who played for the Indiana Pacers and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2015.
  14. I have 300 VHS movies and two VCR’s .I do not think that VCR’s will come back.A few years ago the only appliance store in my small town offered a free VCR with any purchase of a large screen TV .The store owner who is a neighbor said that nobody wanted a VCR.
  15. When I was in HS there was no such thing as women’s basketball.Every player on every basketball team in my HS went on to play college basketball but only one made it to pro basketball. At 6’5 I was the tallest student in the school but had no interest in playing which made the Coach very angry.
  16. I only watched the last 3 minutes of the game.I expected Conn to win.My only mistake was not picking them in the pool I was in.I picked Indiana .
