If there are enough interested people on any toll call ,then a lead person can make arrangements with the ships coordinator via e-mail .all one needs to do is get the name & e-mail from Celebrity on land yo set up a Meet & Greet on board .Seems to me that the cruise lines should like the publicity & all they need do is set aside a area with coffee , tea ,water & cookies & perhaps a open pay your own way bar . The lead person contacts the ships on line coordinator gives the date ,time & how many in attendance & then it should be a done event for those on that sailings roll call 😄 I have personally organized private tours ,Fun Craps rolls & Slot Pulls in the Casino , cruise critic luncheons with prizes ,cabin crawls & gift exchanges . These are fun ,interesting & you meet some very nice people for long term friend relationships

The sail away gatherings are great for those who arrive early enough at the embarkation pier to get on board early . However ,that is not true for others who are then left out from the roll call .Seems to us that the Meet & Greets ,the first sea day for a hour or so is the best alternative

Still after Feb 2023 there is a huge void of HAL ships except those smaller ships doing the Panama canal transit . BTW over $800 port taxes now on these canal cruises

Yes we are aware of the change in itineraries by the seasons . what is interesting is even the Panama Canal cruise ;which we have done full transits twice is not readily available say like late October .Early November .If we did that cruise once again we would fly one way back to San Diego from Florida We are starting to look at Norwegian with their big sale now . Perhaps Alaska for the 6th time .Norwegian includes buy one get one airfare free & many other perks .got to check it out

Hurricanes don't usually happen ;but occasionally they will form off the coast of Mexico . We never get them here in San Diego county .what we do get is heavy rains if there is a hurricane off the Mexico coast . The water temperatures in the Mexican riviera are a lot warmer than the Pacific is here in SD county .That is the reason we don't get hurricanes as the water is too cold to support a hurricane

FWIW ,we booked 2 cruises on Celebrity Soltice for March 11 & 18 ,2023 from San Pedro ,world Cruise Center ,Los Angeles county , Celebrity is doing a series of cruises using this ship even including San Francisco coastal Calif

We live by the Pacific Ocean here in north county San Diego . We were thinking we might take a Caribbean cruise & spend some time after visiting & some sight seeing until I checked airfares . No longer can we see any round trip prices on Alaska airlines .Alaska does non stop flights from SD to Orlando & FT Lauderdale .Then when we prices 2 R/T coach seats the price was close to $1050 .00 & that is this years prices . When we add it all up , it is way too costly considering 10 to 12 extra land days & a car rental . We rather put it on any cruise from SD or LA or perhaps Alaska on Norwegian with their buy one get one air free plus all their other perk sale running now Bottom line is we will cruise or travel that best suits the over all cost factors .We are thankful that we sailed many cruises around the world before prices got so high with this inflation

Suggest that you look again . The only cruises we see is on Noordam & Volendam ,.The shortest cruise in the 24 day Noordam , Departs San Diego Oct 8,2023 & ends in Sydney Australia .Then there are 48 & 51 day cruises . No Mexican Riviera ,No Coastal California & No Hawaii cruises for HAL from SD after February 2023 Koningsdam comes back for one cruise ,February 17 ,2024 from SD to Hawaii & South Pacific islands for a 35 day cruise. The cheapest VH category balcony have it all on a travel agents web site is $ 8349 per person .

We all should ask why the Cruise Critic party is still suspended when most cruises are wide open from the heaviest pandemic days ; which are now behind us . Seems to me Celebrity is not wanting to do these parties any longer ,another cost cutting move ;but not customer favorable We know that we can arrange the connections Party (Meet & Mingle ) ourselves ;however ,it was really a nice touch to see the invitation in your State room upon arrival that first day aboard ship

It was much nicer when we could log into the Cruise Critic Party here on line & it was confirmed . Does any one know if or when Celebrity will resume the Cruise Critic on board parties ?😀
