  1. Is free tomato juice available at breakfast on Lido?
  2. April through June cruises are now listed on the HAL website with their designated protocols. Yay for Standard on our April 8th Transatlantic!
  3. We had FCCs issued under Cruising with Confidence at the point in time where they changed the expirations from one year to no expiration. Unfortunately, we never received the email with our FCCs, so have never seen them. We have only gotten the information by calling asking for the numbers and expiration. We were told they don't expire by RCC. Now I'm shopping for a cruise to use them on and during the booking process I did the FCC lookup where you provide your name and FCC number. The result looks like the attached, however I'm puzzled by the note regarding the expiration. Has anyone seen this and can you clarify that perhaps the (1) means no expiration date?
  4. Can you elaborate? When and where were the Happy Hours? What were the problems?
  5. Also, there may be a difference when you pay for a cruise with gift cards and then cancel during a period when you can get some money back. Maybe that's when you get refunded in gift cards, not this situation where you are on the ship with OBC.
  6. I was thinking any refund would be to your original form of payment, which was the gift card? Would be nice if someone has first hand knowledge.
  7. Just a followup question because of this comment. On one of our Transatlantic crossings, I can't remember if it was on Princess or NCL, we did the stuff your bag of laundry for $xx. When we got our laundry back, almost every item lost so many years of life based on the worn/faded/pilled condition. To this day I can look at a piece of clothing and remember that it "went through the wringer". Literally! Is HAL's laundry like this?
  8. Oh my goodness, how sad to hear. We had Gene on the brand new MSC Seashore in 2021 right after she repositioned from Europe. I can honestly say no other cruise director we've had has been memorable like Gene. When I saw this thread I immediately thought, oh my gosh that was him. He was everywhere and talked to everyone. May he rest in peace.
  9. Yes, I checked again today for our April 8 Transatlantic and nothing available yet even putting in the voyage number.
  10. Has anyone heard when the protocols will be published for cruises starting in April and later?
  11. Mine too! Thanks everyone for confirming that they hadn't cancelled my cruise!
  12. Yes, our history has repopulated, but bookings didn't. They're making progress.
  13. No cruises, no points, no cruise history. Glad it's just not me.
  14. Anyone else getting this message this morning on website who DO have cruises booked?
  15. Not sure if this has been mentioned but there is a website where TAs "compete" for your business by giving you offers/bids on a specific sailing. We use this often and have booked with a few agencies based on their offer. HAL and Princess cruises can be discounted and they'll give you OBC too. You can even transfer from a HAL booking to a TA booking and they generally keep the offer they gave you even though it's not a new booking.
  16. Norwegian used to be great. However, they no longer do the Transatlantic flights that saved us so much money.
  17. This! Our original flights with American were cancelled and they said due to nonpayment. Had to fight to get new flights and the original price we had booked at.
  18. This is not unique to HAL. We were on a Mediterranean cruise on MSC in November and we had 3 changes that occurred. Instead of leaving from Marghera near Venice, they left from Trieste a couple of hours away. Instead of stopping at Split, Croatia, we went to Zadar, and instead of ending up in Marghera we went to Trieste again. They blamed the first two on weather, but there was no compensation. In fact leaving from Trieste and returning there cost MSC much more money, because they had to bus everyone to the new port because we were told to show up at the original port in Venice.
  19. It does no harm to book Flexible flights through FlightEase to lock into the price. No downside, and if they get cheaper, you can rebook all the way up until final payment. That's the joy of FE. Also, they generally don't sell the lowest basic economy fares. You'll usually get your luggage included which makes a difference in the price when comparing to other travel sites.
