  1. Had 2 bids in for July 23rd Joy sailing and last night I noticed that 1 had expired while the other is pending. I understand that the expired bid means it was denied and while I have hope for the pending bid (which is on the low end), I know that most likely won't happen either. I guess I'm just surprised that the bid that expired (a balcony) happened 47 days before sailing when there's in excess of 120 balcony cabins still available. I'd think it would get denied much closer to my sailing date. No big deal. I was always happy with what I booked and just took a chance on the upgrade process.
  2. 100% doesn't make sense to pay for parking there for a 10 day sailing. $45/day is crazy! I won't do it for a 7 day cruise. We took a car service last summer from about an hour away on Long Island and will do the same this summer for our next Joy sailing. As far as embarking is concerned, I'm an early arrival person. My group of 13 will be arriving by 8:30AM. We'll wait a little for security to open and then we'll wait a little to board, but I prefer that so that we get on board as early as possible to get our chores out of the way and to start enjoying the cruise.
  3. My daughter is disembarking Escape this morning and she had a wonderful week! She liked the entertainment, food and service. I'll have more details when I pick her up at the airport.
  4. I don't think so. When I go into entertainment for my upcoming Joy sailing in July and click on Footloose, it says the same as above. Apparently it's just the 6/11 sailing that will be without Footloose.
  5. My July 23rd sailing on Joy to Bermuda still lists departure as 4pm.
  6. I'm sailing Joy July 23rd and Footloose is still showing as one of the theater shows. I wouldn't miss it as I sailed Joy last summer and already saw it, but I have newbies coming with and I hope they get the chance to see it. I believe they will.
  7. Thanks for posting these. My 23 yo daughter is embarking today with her bf and she's been down in Miami since yesterday, so I just sent her these. We sailed Escape in 2018 so she's already pretty familiar with the ship. Hope you had a great week!
  8. I know you can rent chairs at Trunk, but what about umbrellas?
  9. My daughter is sailing on Escape this Sunday and I've given her instructions to check out the Grey Goose part of this discussion. She'll definitely get back to me on it, especially if she wants me to pick her up from the airport. Lmao!!
  10. Yep! COM was definitely the best show we've seen on a cruise ship. We saw it for the first time on Escape in 2018, when they did it in the supper club. That was the best one, as it was my wifes birthday and I got them to call her up on stage for the serenade. Also, being in a small venue was great!! I've seen it twice since then on Encore in the theater and it was fabulous too. Just not as intimate.
  11. KS Watersports did a good job last year with my daughter and her bf. We sailed into Bermuda on NCL Joy at the end of June and they did a jetski tour with KS and loved it. You can do solo or tandem and they meet up right off the pier. Check out their website for details.
  12. We were in Bermuda last summer, June 26th sailing of NCL Joy, and we visited Horseshoe Bay as we always do. I'm going to say it was June 29th or 30th. There were signs up as we entered warning us about the Portuguese man o'war and you could see them in the water and I saw a couple of dead ones on the beach itself. It got so bad, that they closed off going in the water after a couple of hours and we heard that there was upwards of 100 people who were stung just that day. With that being said, we've visited Bermuda many times and never had that happen before and I believe last year was an outlier and not the norm. We're going back in July and I hope it's not a year where these jellyfish take over again.
  13. Love the outside Cavern bar! I like it for pre dinner drinks when we're sailing too. Beautiful sunset while sipping a cocktail.
  14. Last summer, on Joy, there was Footloose, Elements and 2 comedians you had to make reservations for. There was always early and late showings, usually like 7pm and 9:30pm. As soon as you board, go to the Social and they have a sheet with all the shows and their times. You'll be able to easily make reservations for everything then.
  15. Also, I loved the entertainment on Joy. Especially the musical acts. There was so much live music and that's my thing on vacation and at home. With that being said, Footloose was just ok, while Elements was really good. On Escape, you have Choir of Man, which is the best show in the fleet (in my opinion) and I love the dueling pianos which is such great fun! I've missed that, a little, on Joy. Bottom line. All of my sailings on Joy, Escape and Encore were a blast! 76 days till Joy!!!!
  16. And I love the OL. Actually went there a lot on my Encore sailing out of Miami in 2020 as it has that great circular bar that was never crowded and had a couple of very fun bartenders. That was a little gripe of mine on Joy. Loved the space, but it had only a walk up bar. Of course they had servers, but I like to sometimes sit at a bar and be a little social. It was my go to bar on Encore for a pre dinner drink and on Joy I switched to the Mixx bar for that.
  17. On my android phone, it appears to show total including all fees and taxes. On my computer, it is showing the price without taxes and fees, even if you click on the breakdown link. As I said previously, this was even a surprise to my PCC, who's been with the company for 10 years.
  18. I've sailed Joy and Escape and I'd give the edge to Escape for a warm weather sailing, especially if you're someone who likes to hang out on the sundecks. With that being said, Joy was great last year and we're sailing on her again this summer.
  19. That is interesting. It hasn't done it that way for me in about two weeks.
  20. Yep. Discovered this approximately 2 weeks ago. I saw an opportunity to upgrade after final payment and contacted my PCC to make it happen. We BOTH learned that day about the new way ncl was displaying their pricing and my potential upgrade was no longer a good deal. Very sneaky if you ask me.
  21. It must be a NY thing, because we do the same. Lmao!! And, on any cruise ship I've been on, there are so many different stations plus there's duplicates of every station. I don't really remember ever having to wait more than a split second to get virtually anything that I wanted.
  22. Thanks for informing us of the revolutionary, adult decision you made at 15 and how the rest of us are just brainwashed and dumb! Since we're sharing, at 15 I was hanging out in the park drinking Colt 45 and hoping my gf would kiss me. I do miss Colt 45! Lmao!!!! I found this quote below and thought it was applicable. "Condescending people tend to be very judgmental and intolerant towards anything that doesn't match their high standards or beliefs. They will always be looking for ways to prove that others are wrong and inferior."
