  1. Fabulous information! (Although I am certain some contributors will provide comments with better suggestions) 😁
  2. For the longer cruises it only says "required ". No where does it say that the masks must be worn. 😁
  3. Ouch. Im sure the OP did not mean to be condescending. 👎
  4. If it is a cleaning issue, i guess we were lucky in early January to do the whole NZ schedule
  5. The NSW version, Sydney Weekender a few days ago featured the Norwegian Spirit, if i'm not mistaken. Infomercial at its best. (You get a free set of steak knives when you mention the show, when you book!)
  6. I envy people who can jump on ships at moment's notice or book years in advance....
  7. That seems expensive! Celebrity was charging USD 10, which is reasonable, as it is quite a distance.
  8. We made the mistake to go on a cruise on a ship based in SIN. Big mistake. It was such nonsense that we SERIOUSLY considered jumping ship in Bali. Horrible, (sorry, but) low class Asians. Shouting, smoking, spitting. Throwing all sort of matter in the toilets, causing blockages. Terrible food. So much so that the waiter one night told us "sorry, i dont know what that is" as he dilverred our food. (Wasnt on RC)
  9. Happy Australia Day. (Or Invasion Day, for some)
  10. A lot of people seem to have the problem that they can't sleep wheb they drink tea at night. MY problem is that i can't drink tea when i sleep at night.
  11. Our cabin attendant said no. Lots of confiscated kettles (and irons, curling wands and other electric stuff) on a table when getting off on AKL about 2 weeks ago...
  12. On January 4th, they were selling Myki cards from a counter in the cruise terminal. There was a lenghty queue, but it seemed to be moving quickly.
  13. That's a bit cheeky. I understand that the "norm " is to charge for corkage if you want to consume your stuff in public areas (and therefore would have waiter service). If you drink your wine in your cabin, there would be no charge. (Or take a glass of your wine with you from your cabin. Nobody would know...) A inspection desk must be new. Peehaps they were looking for people trying to take hard liqueur in a wine bottle?
  14. Just returned from 2 weeks Celebrity to NZ in Concierge. Little value as far as i am concerned. Cabin was on the arse end of the ship. A long walk to everything. "Golf " umbrella was just a small thing. Binoculars never materialised (no drama for us, as we brought our own). "Delectable Delights " were just plain weird. Assortment of random things from the buffet. Delivered around 1.30 to 2.30 pm, so by the time you would want them, when getting ready for dinner in the early evening, the stuff would have been sitting there uncovered and un-chilled in the room. "Concierge desk" was pretty useless. Could not even secure dinner reservations. "Hand-held hair dryer" had all the power of an elderly smoker breathing at you. The only two nice things were a wine tasting/lecture (in the MORNING!!🤷🏻‍♂️) and a helicopter deck sail-away from one port. "Enhanced " breakfast menu? I found nothing that was remotely enhanced and out of the ordinary. Is there only cold stuff on the "regular " menu? We ordered only once. Half the stuff was missed and tea water was of tepid temperature. "Premium" orange juice from concentrate. 🙊🙉🙈
  15. Ok. Just returned from 2 weeks Celebrity Sydney to NZ. "Always included " package from Australia. Included were all gratuities, "basic " Wifi package and standard drinks package. We upgraded to premium drinks package. No further charges for any additional gratuities were made So with that already included beverage package, what's the stress about "free elite drinks" or cocktail hour???
  16. Same for Celebrity. But other lines may drop their pax some place else.
  17. For something a bit different, penguin related... 🙊🙉🙈 https://eshackleton.com/2015/05/20/recipe-2/
  18. What OzKiwiJJ said. We just returned from a cruise that had a Wellington stop. Celebrity had a super efficient and free shuttle into town. Yes, 2 stops. No more than 15 minutes ship to town. They had friendly tourist information people at all stops.
  19. It sounds like that (and its probably true for every cruise line) they feature ethnic restaurants, such as Chinese, Thai, Japanese etc, but then stick their stock standard Philippino or Indian chefs in the kitchen.
