Hi all, a query on behalf of someone else re wait listing. My daughter and SIL, along with 5 other couples have booked a cruise for 2025. Most couples got balconies next to each other or in the same general area. One couple booked just after the main group and could only get a window cabin on a different deck. Although at the time of booking they requested to be wait listed for a balcony, it was never logged in the "system", they said the request couldn't be added for some reason. A balcony cabin has now become available but in the meantime fares have gone up and it's significantly more than what the others paid. My query with wait listing is this - do you waitlist at the price you would have paid had the desired cabin category been available when you originally booked, or are you stuck with the current rate when the desired cabin becomes available? Many thanks in advance 😊

Yes, I've got them from hotels, I only wear them on holidays - one size fits all are too big for me but I don't like being barefoot. They stay in my "cruise bits and pieces" cupboard. By the way, for clarity herewith photos of jandals and thongs 🤣

I could do, I guess, but I find slippers so much more comfortable. They're thin and flat so they take up next to no room. On holiday I only wear jandals for around pools, I'd leave them out of packing if I was very short of space.

Yes, it's Argentina, and El Petiso Orejudo is known in English as Big Ears. He's in Ushuaia Prison, walkable from the port. So your turn. He was particularly nasty, although an oddball of short stature, he tortured and murdered children. We learnt about him during the port lectures. We'd already done scenic tours, so walked to the Prison and then around town. It was good to spend as much time as we wanted there, rather than be rushed on a ship's tour. It's a very bleak place, but we'll worth the visit and taking plenty of time over the exhibits. We've struck it a couple of times, once an elderly couple who booked an inside cabin at last minute prices and boasted about it. The other time was a couple who booked the cruise, again when bargain prices were offered to fill the ship, but had booked the cruise in segments and got an overall very cheap price.

They're still jandals I think. Crocs do the shaped base with arch support style. Also Adidas, although the tops are scuff style. NZers would definitely raise eyebrows if you said you were taking your slappers on holiday with you 😳

We're in a condo, so no resort fee. The NZD400 includes the cleaning fee and the state taxes. I think I'd have a heart attack if even more was added. The condo complex has a restaurant and convenience store on site and two pools.

Slappers? For holidays I use those cheap slippers hospitals used to give you, white with a white sole. They always show how clean or otherwise hotel/cabin floors are. Princess pass the test 😊

I probably don't qualify then, the In the Park events are held at the Auckland Domain. It really was a random guess, but I've often seen those laser lights fanning out and bouncing up and down over the audience. Maybe you should post another pic since I didn't really "win".

I'm not a shoe person, comfort has always been my priority. However, it's surprising how the number of pairs taken on a cruise add up - 1. Trainers for the plane (my feet get cold, brrrr). 2. Keens for traipsing around the ship and on shore. 3. Jandals for around the pool. 4. Dress sandals for dinner - one or two pairs. 5. Slippers for in the cabin. 6. Reef shoes for the beach. 👟 👡 🩴 🥿 👠

By comparison, we're paying around NZD400 per night for a condo in Hawaii. They state it has a full fridge/freezer but sadly that refers to it's size rather than it"s contents 😪
