  1. Wow, no wonder blokes who are sent out to buy some cheese come back with the wrong one (sorry blokes) 😉
  2. Yip, sure is, at the Castillo San Felipe. Your turn 😊
  3. Okay, I figure it's my turn then 🙂 Where is this dude?
  4. Alabaster Sphinx of Memphis, Egypt?
  5. Well that's confusing! I wonder if they ever get stand-offs and the maritime equivalent of road rage 🤣
  6. Shame it's not like a hotel where you could do late check-out and early check-in, and party in between 😉
  7. If they book seats individually and separately, they run the risk of the airline system moving them to accommodate a couple who have no disinclination to sit together - or worse still, one member of a couple between the two of them with the other across the aisle, talking to each other across the passenger while they talk to each other across the unfortunate middle passenger. I agree I think it's a bit selfish. Many years ago, on a long haul flight with plenty of spare seats, a woman in the aisle seat of the middle block, sat her son in the seat across the aisle, next to my daughter and I. The rest of the row she was in was vacant. Her adult son was child-like with a mental disability and he proved to be a real nuisance, using my tray table as well as his own for his coloring in and nattering to us the whole journey. It gave her a break but in such a confined environment and for such a long flight, I thought they should have sat together so she could more easily attend to him. Just my opinion.
  8. I looked at buying one when they were new. It was a good position, on an upper level of the front right-hand corner of the middle block, facing north east (ie, the side the cruise ships dock, with a view to Rangitoto). What put me off was the one bedroom (my daughter lived with me at that stage) - although she was keen to make it work somehow) and the fact they had a 50 year lease. At the time I figured I could still be alive when the lease expired and didn't want in my advanced years to have to pay a fortune to renew it 💰
  9. Yes, it was there that the ad was filmed. As well as the Hilton at the end of the wharf, there are also apartments 🙂
  10. Hahaha, we used to have an advert on TV, I can't for the life of me remember what it was for, but a big cruise ship was docked alongside some apartments. An apartment resident gets up in the morning, starkers, opens his drapes while yawning and stretching, to the horrified looks of the passengers surveying the view from their balconies 🤣 Maybe something interesting to see afterall!
  11. Shame, as your experience would leave you with a bit of a sour taste. Short sighted of Princess - as they said on United flights many years ago, something along the lines of "thank you for flying United, we know you have a choice, thank you for choosing United" - you have options, I would have thought the warm fuzzies alone would be well worth $25.
  12. To back up my post (and Possum's). I'm not sure what the visa wizard is, but make sure you use the country's official website so you are not also paying a third party agent's fee.
  13. With respect, Princess at least say in their terms and conditions that passengers will be denied boarding if they don't have the relevant visas. Also I believe that it is immaterial whether or not the passenger intends to go ashore at the relevant port, they still need to get their visas.
  14. Yes, super quick 🌞 your turn ...
  15. Woohoo, I'm as surprised as the next person, it was a bit of a shot in the dark I remembered there were a lot of flamingos and a little pond, but the pond has "grown" a bit in my memory 🤣 Okay, next pic -
  16. I'm pleased it was corrected promptly. Many years ago a TA booked return flights to the UK for me, via the States. The tickets had me as "Mr Jean" instead of "Mrs" so I asked the agent to get it changed (Jean in France is a male name). They said I'd be fine, no need to correct it, nothing to worry about. I was travelling alone and didn't want passport hassles anywhere along the journey so I insisted, they argued but eventually reluctantly had it changed. I really don't know whether or not it would have been a problem, it was before the days of people identifying as a gender other than what they were born as, or weirdly as something else like a cat 😺
  17. Me too, even when I'm happy with my cabin selection I still check every day, especially fares and deals before the deposit forfeit date, then get straight on to my (useless) PVP. Have saved thousands that way, even a hundy or so is better in my pocket than theirs. Glad @cruiser3775 got themselves a good cabin 🛳 🍹
  18. Last November on Coral we bought a bottle of a very nice NZ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wine from the dining room, I can't remember which one it was, but it was a respectable one. However it wasn't cheap, $61 or $62 - we had a generous amount of OBC so didn't mind the cost.
  19. Definitely, and a good opportunity to spend a few days in Hawaii as well before flying home. We're doing a relocation cruise in October from Hawaii to Auckland and will have a few days soaking up the friendly Hawaiian culture and sun before the relaxing cruise home. Often it's about having a good holiday even though an airfare is involved 🌞 🍹 🥳
  20. Hahaha, hubby and grandpappy are looking a bit worse for wear 😉
  21. Not a bad name for a cruise ship - if they ever pinch your idea, make sure you at least get a free cruise out of them 🤣
  22. Wow, wouldn't it have been wonderful for you if you'd been picked - being paid to cruise 🥳🥳🥳
