  1. Is this really a big issue for people? I am not rich by any means and a cruise is not a small expenditure. Most of us are spending thousands on a cruise. People go on about the unlimited dining, drink package or a cabana that costs over a thousand dollars for a few hours.

I tip a dollar a bag or so. Never had an issue with any of them. Do you know what they do with the luggage carts when they wheel them off? Can we really judge that they don't work hard enough? We will tip a bartender when he mixes rum and coke together. I don't agree with the ones that have an attitude but I have never had that issue. In the grand scheme of things does a couple of dollars really affect the cruise?

I just booked Symphony for June 2020 last week and saw the cabanas were $899. Two days later they went up to $1299. I can’t imagine what they’ll be next week. For just a few hours?? 🙄

I think the $899 was too much. I guess it is all relative. Many people must still be purchasing, if not they wouldn't raise the prices. We were there on Mariner in July and did the water park and explored the rest. There is so much to do there even without the water park I don't think I would want to be tied down to a cabana. The beach is still nice. The bay is a nice calm beach area. The pool is great with plenty of in water loungers. Good food selections.

That's a shame, perhaps the new ships will all have these from now on, they should if they want to attract families.

Years ago  after that  happened at White water, I read where a couple brought on one of those small blow up pools which they filled up at the shower on the pool deck and emptied it there after they were done.   Perhaps older ships should offer those for parents with smaller children.

I think that while they may put up with a blow up pool, I don't think they would promote them. Imagine the pool deck area with blow up pools all over it. I'm practically tripping half the time over all the chairs that are moved around.

  4. I haven't found it dangerous to rent a car at all. Rented Jeeps twice and a Volkswagen buggy last time. Love driving around the island. So many places to see. Lighthouse, bars beaches etc. I might think differently if I was driving and parking downtown. Punta Sur Park is awesome. Private beaches, Food, Salt water crocks, cheap boat tour in the shallows.

I'm probably the only one excited but... Bionic Bar is in :classic_cool:

I like the Bionic Bar. We stop there a lot to grab a drink on the way to the MDR. There was one time that the robot forgot to close the lid and just tossed my drink all over the bar and the bottles. It was pretty funny to see but the attendant was not pleased.

  6. Cruised on Brilliance a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. It was my first cruise on a smaller Royal Caribbean ship and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I have sailed on other smaller ships since then but that made me open to the idea.

It was a four day cruise and wasn't a "party barge" at all. Maybe a little rust but nothing that affected me or the cruise.

  7. If my wife and I are within four decks of our destination we use the stairs. I think if able bodied people would use the stairs for one or two flights I think the crowding would be greatly alleviated. The crowding after muster or after shows is hard to avoid able bodied or not. I don't think a person with a disability would be able to get through the crowd to a certain elevator during those times. If people were more courteous to others around this would not be as much of an issue. Just my feeling.
