  1. I MUST find your other reviews!!! Help me find them!! You have me cackling. First - egads, no the swinger thing is NOT a Texas thing. We sailed out of PC years back and there was one boarding our ship after us - they chartered the entire ship. OH MY - the stories our cabin steward told us! YIKES Yeah, we have done Harmony twice but Voyager and Freedom class are our faves. Although we do love Coastal Kitchen.....The lack of a pool in the Solarium is such a boneheaded design decision. Fie on those responsible! I hope Wolf's sweet doggie keeps up the good work. I lost my beloved Taquito a few weeks ago. He had the same coloring and masking. We still have Taco and Tamale to continue as chi parents. Yes - we had a theme with the names. Don't judge me. I did well in the casino on Harmony last December. Wheel of Fortune was consistently generous and let me play. I hope it treats you well. Now...about those other reviews......
  2. The easiest one is Ft Lauderdale - the port is just minutes away from the airport. Port Canaveral is fine but you have to fly into Orlando and shuttle service is great, you are looking at 45 minute transfer - without traffic. And the Orlando airport is insane with all the Disney/Universal people. I haven't done the others but my two cents would be FLL.
  3. Dog hog, I'm sorry if you didn't understand my sarcasm. Tone is often hard to interpret when reading. Of course we didn't "enjoy" seeing her being a jerk. The staff handled it beautifully and we are always impressed at how gracious they are to passengers at ANY level who treat them poorly. I totally agree with all of you saying that bad behavior has nothing to do with tier levels and cabin categories. But when a passenger uses their status or cabin as a weapon to bully staff, then yes, it does reflect poorly not just on them but on the status they love to boast about. Kindness and respect should be a priority for every passenger. Out of over 30 cruises, we have seen very few rude passengers but it has been our experience that most of the time it has come from people old enough to know better and from those who are regular cruisers.
  4. I was being sarcastic. VERY sarcastic. She should have behaved better. We saw she was one of the top cruisers on the sailing so she should have been much nicer to the staff - and to other passengers. It's that type of behavior that gives ALL the Pinnacles a bad rep. Those that were with her should have stepped up and controlled it. I would never associate with someone who treated the staff the way she did.
  5. We mainly cruise out of Galveston and I have definitely seen the P's attempt to take over the Suite Lounge but not every single time. We have also seen the bad entitled behavior as well as friendly delightful people. I did notice a huge difference on Harmony last fall when only the top 30 were allowed - the SL was always busy but no circles or furniture being moved. We still laugh about a certain P "lady" who demanded my 6'5 husband move away from the elevator buttons so she could press the button to close the door faster- sometimes almost on people. When we were the only ones left on the elevator and it was obvious we were all going to the SL, she barged off the elevator and managed to slam the door to the SL in our face. We "enjoyed" seeing her berate the staff all week. What a gem she was! Be interesting to see how the Mariner SL will be this spring.
  6. This was a mistake on your part, not Royal's. I'm sorry that this happened but they are in no way liable for your mistake. Major Emotional Damages- sorry ruining your own vacation doesn't seem to qualify. And welcome to CC.
  7. Thanks for taking us along. Roatan is probably our favorite port. We've even stayed at Infinity Bay for a week after falling in love with Roatan on cruises. We did Mr Sanchos a few years but the last time - spring 2023- it was so grossly crowded and our service was so bad, we went back to Nachi Cocom last month. We too feel the drinks have gotten weaker and the food quality seems to have slipped a bit. Still a good time but overall, we found Nachi was a better fit after switching for about 5 years. We were on Harmony last month and had a great time and terrific service at Coastal Kitchen and SL/Suite Deck as well!
  8. We were on the same cruise on Harmony and had no issues getting seats in SL. Our group of 6 were there every night from 4:30-5:30. Plenty available at that time. Yes only 30 Pins allowed in during happy hour but they had access outside those hours. I think around 160 pins on that sailing and they love those name tags. We especially enjoyed the lady who told my husband to move on the elevator so she could push the buttons and then made sure to barge ahead of us to get in the SL and slammed the door in our face. Since we got off with her and were a few steps behind her, there was no way she didn't know where we were going. But then we saw her bossing the staff around in the SL too. Gotta love the entitled ones. I'm guessing they are not treated "special" in the real world!
  9. Always enjoy your reviews - have a wonderful week. I am grateful that we board her sister ship this Sunday!
  10. Thanks for taking us along. We board 11/26 - our 2nd time on Harmony.
  11. As usual, Royal's IT department seems to be behind the times. I see no way to redeem the gift cards online. I was ready to buy onboard credit in advance and it was available last week. Now, no longer on website. UGH.
  12. Anyone know who the concierge are on Harmony? Tried the search function and looked for the old thread that listed all of them but no luck. We had Elaine and Abba last year and they were great. Hoping to see them again on our 11/26 sailing.
  13. Tell me about it. Several years back, the hold was on my card for 6 weeks. Bank refused to release it - said Royal had not released it and they wouldn't do anything until Royal released. Long story short, I was on a conference call with the credit card and Royal and listened to the two agents yell and insult each other - each one blaming the other. Fun times. Needless to say, I don't use that card anymore.
  14. Yep, agree with Pompey. I've started to bring most of my gambling funds as cash. The holds on my card have stayed for up to 3 weeks which is a major hassle. And you're right - the final charge is on there but then I have anywhere from 3-5 other holds as well. I get that they want to make sure the card is still good but 2-3 weeks is ridiculous.
  15. Thanks Beach, I knew you had to play a percentage of it. I always play it of course. Degenerate gambler that I am. πŸ˜‰
  16. We've been over Chops for quite a few years now. Overpriced and just not that great. We have eaten in Jamie's on Harmony and enjoyed it a lot. Going back in November. We haven't done 150 but it is definitely a more formal atmosphere than Jamie's if that helps make your decision. Have a great time.
  17. If you go to the casino cage to get gambling money on your seapass, they charge the 5%. If you put your seapass in a slot machine, it's just an onboard credit. As others have stated, unless you are Prime or higher at the tables, they will charge the 5%. It should also be noted that if you use the seapass in a slot machine, you can't simply turn around and cash it out. You must play it through - not sure if you must play the entire amount or not. But you don't want to try to use it as an ATM - they will catch you at it.
  18. I did see that memo a few days after I posted this. Ah well, not the end of the world.
  19. Very good, thanks for all the answers. I'll probably make the request and emphasize that if it's not allowed, we understand and are perfectly fine. "never hurts to ask". Yeah, I know they vary by ship and even by who you ask, Royal is consistent in their inconsistency! πŸ™‚
  20. We are sailing this fall with friends and are doing Jamies on Thursday. We won't be doing a specialty restaurant until then. Is the BOGO still limited to the first two nights or are we able to use it that night? We are in a GS so I could ask the concierge but I don't want to be "that guy" and put them in an awkward situation if it's still only to be used the first two nights. Would love to save the money but I'm also a "rule follower." πŸ˜‰
  21. harry, I meant where'd you go as in no posts for several hours. πŸ˜‰ Enjoying your style.
