  1. We were on the Edge in July.

They made all vaccinated people wear these annoying blue wristbands that you were not supposed to remove, even though some did.

We will be on the Constellation in November, are the blue wristbands still be required, for anybody ?

  2. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE !!!

Please check your expiration date for your BinaxNow test kit.

Apparently, after conferring mine with Abbott, there are 3 versions.

    1.Over The Counter

    2. Home Test (RX)

    3. Professional

    Each has different expiration dates.

There are letters circulating around with lot numbers for each, I have seen letters dated April, May and September.

Please make sure first, you are using the correct test kit to cruise, Home Test/RX.

Then confirm your expiration date, better to be safe than sorry.

I would hate see someone be turned back from a cruise for using the wrong or expired test kit.

  3. We were a group of 4 on the July 3, 2021 Edge.
We love the Martini Bar on other ships but not the Edge.
It was always crowded just before dinner and the closeness of the band made it very difficult to converse, even with the waiters.
It was late into the cruise we discovered the Eden bar which nearly empty.

My husband and I just booked Constellation out of Tampa Feb 5. We took the “ always included” rate. I understand we can upgrade to the Premium alcohol pkg for $12/pp/day. However my husband does not drink alcohol.  Can just one person upgrade?

    NO !

Traveling together if one upgrades the other must also upgrade.

I took the test Wednesday for a Saturday cruise. You take the test at home, with a supervisor watching you by vudeo. So you see the results yourself, they develop over 15 minutes and you show the supervisor your card and confirm the results with them. It looks like an at home pregnancy test, one pink stripe negative , two pink stripes positive. The test supervisor immediately sends official confirmation of results to the Navica app and your email.

If you get a chance, follow the links other people have posted here that show the process. That will explain it better than i can.

Thanx, I saw a video and appears that the test was conducted by someone in the Philippines, there was a delay in the video transmission and communication.

Overall the process we smooth, as far as I can tell.

I wanted to share my good experience. My husband and I have an Edge sailing Sept 4. After having trouble booking tests , then having Walmart/quest cancel and CVS say results are 2-3 days minimum, Celebrity came through and gave the ok for people to use the  Abbott BinaxNow COVID-19 Ag Card with telehealth supervision.. I ordered a 6 pack from eMed . They were delivered the next day ! Now that we had tests in hand, we decided why not sail even sooner!?!

We just tested today. It was straightforward and not time consuming at all. We used our phones, didn't need a computer . You basically are in a video call with the person monitoring your test taking. At 8 am EDT I had no wait to speak to a test supervisor.  At 9am my husband had a 9 minute wait. There are some videos out there showing the process, as well as written instructions on the eMed and Navica sites.

The results are available in multiple formats, and show all pertinent information. I will give an update when we board.

So we are negative as of today, August 25 , and just booked the August 28 sailing! Since we already had Sept 4 booked, so it may become a b2b or we may just cancel Sept 4 and move the FCC to our January cruise. 😁

So, my question is what day did you take it and what did did you get results ?

  7. We will be cruising out of Tampa later this year.

We will be arriving to Tampa on a Sunday and embarking on Monday.

We will be making plans and backup plans to test before we leave.

It would be great to know if there is a place, even if I have to pay, to test and get quick results in case we do not get our results in time.

    Any suggestions ?

  8. I'm not a wine expert, I only play one on tv, lol 🤣

Anyway, we cruise with friends and one is a sommelier, she knows wines !

She has sent back wines after tasting what were served.

Our last cruise in July on the Edge we had a wonderful sommeliers in both Tuscan and Cosmopolitan.

  9. We were on the Edge, 7/3/21.

    Capacity was 41%.

Most places were not crowded at all, except the Martini Bar, martini Bar is small and and very loud. Theatre was not crowded either.

    Social distancing was not honored.

If you are looking for a nice quiet place for cocktails we found Eden was very nice !

Of the 4 MDR restaurants we found Tuscan was the most occupied and Cosmopolitan the least.

The pool was never full and plenty of lounge cheers !

I think it's very possible that the earlier time slots could be filled.  But with folks boarding that late, it is unlikely that sailaway would remain at 4:00 PM.  Remember, everything is pretty fluid these days (I wish it weren't) so a delayed sailaway could easily happen.

How did you get a boarding time for a November cruise ?

Yes, but in much of Europe, they're (technically - legally) working to very specific measures in a glass (e.g., 100ml wine, 30ml booze)!  Here, you won't find a line with numbers on much of anything, shot glasses are often filled and 'overflowed', and no laws to enforce pour size, so those extra tips can lead to better pours!

Why are people so concerned on what you tip to cruise staff ?

Your money, do what you want, my money I do what I want.
