Question about testing.

They say you don't need a protoctered test anymore, they say a pic, of results is sufficient.

So I assume that you take a home test and just take a pic of the test apparatus ?

Someone please educate me.

If you have ever had fresh ground Wasabi versus prepared Wasabi its a huge difference !

This was my experience.

I am not a long time cruiser, I think we have had 8 cruises, all on X.

Ever since 1st cruise I have taken a 3 way adapter, plain 3 way adapter.

I didn't get bags same time wife got hers, cabin attendant told me to go to the naughty room.

Sure nuff, security pointed out my 3 way and confiscated it.

WHAT ???

But, they did not mention my 5 way USB hub, lol 🤣

This is not for me, wife wants to know.

Is there Bingo on X ?

I try to read the dailies but never noticed Bingo.

We dined at all 4 on the Edge.

In our opinion we enjoyed Cosmopolitan !

Only because our wait staff was fantastic and our sommelier Dragon was a wine witch !

We are about 2 months away from cruising on the Silhouette, 17 November, 2022.

I have been on 3 cruises during Covid and the self serve buffet was fantastic !

Has X gone back to self serve in the buffet ?

We booked a back to back cruise with X on the Silhouette 17th November-2st November and 2st November-1st December, 2022, keeping same cabin.

Since X has changed their Vaccination and Testing protocol leaves me with questions.

So, since we won't have to test for the 4 day going in to our 10 day cruise, will X test us before 2nd leg of our Back To Back ?

I realize that it's all fluid and changing, just need some advice from the CC Community.

Yes !

If you are a longer cruise, I would say 9 or more days and you drink in the same location, I have experienced that your server will recognize you and will not ask for your card.

This is my experience only.

I guess you can take it 2 ways.

I assume most don't tip directly to cabin attendant cuz they pre pay gratuities.

I pre pay also but I also tip cabin attendant in cash.

And shame on those who don't tip at all.

I was told by a very frequent X cruiser that if you have a beverage package you can bring wine onboard and you are able to indulge in you in the MDR without paying a corkage fee.

We are so glad that we were able to test with Binox Now, very easy !

The only issue we had was trying to understand the proctor.

Not sure which country they were in, I'm guessing India, a bit difficult to understand.

My suggestion is turn off tv, put the dog outside, go into a quiet room.

The other issue is I'm not sure if it was just me but the I could not connect with iPhone or iPad, I had to use my desktop iMac and had to manipulate the monitor so as to show proctor.

We are not veteran cruisers yet, so we never paid attention to "Tier Status" and the perks you get.

We were notified that we are approaching the "Elite Tier".

So, I looked it up on X website and noticed that there are 2 interesting perks.

Daily Breakfast Coffee Lounge ?

Captain's Club Elite Cocktail Hour ?

Do these perks really happen ?

Anybody ever use these perks and if so tell me about it, thanx !

First, let me say this, I love children, I have a few of my own, adults now.

Personally, I like cruises with only a few kids onboard.

No, unruly, kids, no adults not monitiring their charges.

If I wanted to cruise  with children I would cruise on NCL, Disney or RC.

I have seen this posted somewhere previously.

Are walkie talkies acceptable ?

Seems like a very good form of communication device.

But, I see in the prohibited items walkie talkies are not contraband.

I think I read that some passengers object to people using walkie talkies.

I am sure this subject may be addressed at some point.

We are on a back to back cruise in November, there may be a change to the upcoming new testing requirement but I am putting this question out there to the CC community.

Back to back in November, first a 4 day and then a 10 day cruise on the Silhouette.

So, with the new procedure, we don't have to test for the initial 4 day cruise.

But, since it's a back to back, will we be tested for 10 day cruise during the 4 day ?

Hawaiian shirts are totally acceptable in all dining rooms on any night.

Just as long as it is collared you can wear it.

I just bought 3 to ad to my wardrobe !

Breakfast is always good in buffet !

Lunch always a treat.

We always eat dinner in the MDR.

The only complaint I have about the buffet, even after X started with staff serving foods people still insist on walking about eating, stuffing their faces while cruising through the buffet.

I have seen some very odd dining habits, lol.

We have cruised X quite a bit and use to love Tuscan but no longer, 2 bad experiences.

But, you can't go wrong with the filet.

Fish and pasta are dry.

Great side dishes.

Limoncello is excellent !
