  1. We have cruised with X a number of times but never really paid attention to the status of Wi-Fi on ships, never used until last cruise with basic Wi-Fi.

The Wi-Fi was very unpredictable and when you did connect it would cut out or stall.

I really don't need the Wi-Fi, its nice to be able to send text and send/receive e-mail.

My question is we get basic Wi-Fi with the "All Included", but since we moved up to "Elite Status"I see we get 90 minutes of free Internet, is it Premium or Basic ?

If it is Premium I may pay for the difference to be able to stream music, maybe a tv show.

So since we have Basic already how does that work with the free minutes you receive for your status ?

    thanks all, appreciate the info!

    It was easy !

My past 4 cruises have been with X and Embarkation has gotten easier and easier each time.

Our last cruise on X in November took about 10 minutes, we did our E-Muster and in the Oceanview 20 minutes.

We just showed our documents and passport.

TIP: Have all your required items need for Embarkation in hand, it goes a lot faster !

Generally it's a two day turnaround if you hand it in before 9am, so if you give it to your cabin attendant on a Monday you'll get it back on Wednesday. Sometimes you can get it back the next day, but the standard is two days.

    Thank You !

  4. We were recently notified after our last cruise in December 2022 that our status was upgraded to "Elite".

My question is about the bag of laundry per cruise.

I have seen the laundry bag in our cabin closet, not very big.

How long does it actually take to get laundry back after sending it off ?

  5. Question:

We have only sailed on Celebrity but are interested in cruising with HAL in 2023.

We have noticed a lot of HAL cruises start and end in Fort Lauderdale on 2 legs of B2B.

So do more passengers board when they return to Fort Lauderdale the first time or is it closed just to folks already on board ?

When you return to Fort Lauderdale the first time do you have to disembark and go through customs ?

We are on the Equinox for an 11/12 sailing. Since I don't fool with apps and the such on my cell phone (only do calling) I filled in and printed out all of the documents necessary for Check-In with the exception of the Health Questionnaire which I can't seem to find on Celebrity's web site when I checked in. If there is somewhere on the site where I can access it would appreciate some assistance. Or, is it something that is done at the terminal when you are physically checking in? I guess if you are an app person you just use that to check in with via cell phone.

Thanks again from an old timer who grew up when there were no things like cell phones and who never got interested in learning how to use apps. 😎

I think you will also be asked in person at check in.

Currently cruises from U.S. Ports 8 day or less do not need a covid test.  Over 8 days you need a self administered test  and a photo of results.

You can upgrade drink package at any bar or bartender.   The bartender will love you as they get a bonus for each sale.    Internet can be upgraded directly from the Celebrity App or Web browser when you setup you account.

As food is subjective I would try it out and then at any time you can either by a dinner package  or dine adhoc.

Jim, you are a wealth of cruise knowledge, thank you !

According to the X site isn't it 9 days ?

School me if I am wrong.

Celebrity is offering an excursion to Orient Beach that includes lunch at a restaurant.

Anyone know which restaurant they use and if it is any good?

We will probably book it just to avoid the hassle of a taxi to Orient Beach.

We have been to Orient Beach twice with X.

The excursion was well maintained and organized...BUT !

Orient Beach is not that great in my opinion, too many hawkers, they will not leave you alone.

    Food was excellent !

Yes, but that terminal arrival time should also dictate the order in which you are going to board the ship (after suite boarding) correct?

Also, I am assuming if I want to have the earliest chance of boarding the ship then I will need to check in at midnight, 45 days prior to sailing for the earliest selection of available slots.  Correct?

I am not sure what time it starts, but I checked in at about 8am and was able to get boarding times of 10:30am for us.

We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott Miami Airport West/Doral before our Thanksgiving sailing on Silhouette. They have a “park/cruise” offering. Not sure about a shuttle … we prefer to just Uber.

  11. We are on a B2B, 4 Night, 17-21 Nov, 22 and 10, Night, 21-1 Dec, 2022, same ship, same cabin.

I am confused on weather we have to test before 2nd leg

Per X, we don't have to test on embarkation for 4 Night leg.

They continue in their directive you must test for 10 Night, self test.

So, I sent messages to X, several with no answer.

Then today I get this message.

This does not answer my question, I am still cluless.

So, since we can do a self test, not protocored, I assume we can do our own test for 2nd leg ?

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Testing for back-to-back sailings is not required for all sailings. Guests will be notified onboard if testing is required and will be provided testing at no cost if needed.

Guidance for All Sailings Departing U.S. Ports
on or after September 5, 2022
    (excluding sailings visiting Bermuda)

For all sailings 9 nights or shorter, no pre-boarding testing is required.

For all sailings 10 nights or longer, vaccinated guests ages 5 and older must present a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 3 days prior to boarding. Test results from any commercially available Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), including self-tests, will be accepted. Tests do not have to be supervised or proctored. Test results may be presented as a printout, screenshot or photo of the test result or the actual test. Antibody tests are not accepted.

    Hope this helps.

  12. My wife is killing me trying to find bingo on X cruises.

We have sailed X many times and never saw Bingo.

I have looked through many Daily Bulletins and can't find it.

Have you played Bingo on X ?

  13. Not sure if this has been asked and answered if so I apologize.

Last year we cruised out of Miami on the Edge.

Embarkation was a nightmare and I understand that since this was only the second cruise ship out of Miami.

My problem was that there was no direction, no lines or signs directing people where to go.

Someone has told me that they now have signs with embarkation times ?

  14. We have never been to Key West, have always wanted to go there !

We do not plan on going outside the port, whichever port we dock at.

What are some places to visit at the port, we are interested in Key Lime pie, cigars, Tortuga cakes and souvenirs
