  1. If it is a bus it will use the Pacific Highway port of Entry as it is designed to handle large groups etc. The bus will arrive at the customs station - the driver will go inside and once cleared all passengers will depart the bus, collect their luggage and then go inside to be processed. After being processed, you return to the bus, leaving your luggage for the driver to reload and return to your seat on the bus.
  2. The Hotel Blu is a newer hotel - the holiday inn has been around for many years. Hotel Blu is located on the edge of trendy Yaletown and the Stadium district. The holiday Inn is located one block off of the Granville entertainment district which is quite noisy especially on weekends. There are better eating opportunities near the Hotel Blu. Both hotel are within only a short distance from the port - could be walked but only about $10 to $15 for a taxi. I would take the Hotel Blu. MartinCath will likely be along shortly with his take on this question as he is more in tune with the downtown scene than I am now that I am living in the suburbs. Hope this helps! Dennis
  3. Yes they are available - a friend that I was cruising with in May had mobility issue and was able to get a wheelchair to help with the boarding procedures.
  4. I also have a cruise booked for September and saw a price reduction - contacted my TA and she was able to cancel my existing booking, lost a small OBC , was able to keep the same cabin and kept a FCC from a COVID cancelled cruise and saved about $150.00. Doesn't sound like much of a saving but I was able to get the premium beverage package, crew appreciation and unlimited internet which I didn't have before. Factor that in and it was a significant saving. If I hadn't wanted to take the amenities package likely could have gotten a balcony cabin as the price was what I would have paid for the inside originally.
  5. It's 15 drinks a day - if you want more than that on a sea day you will pay for the extras.
  6. Yes I have done that a couple of times - you can also get to the Dyea townsite from the Point.
  7. I did a bike trip to Mendenhall a number of years ago. We were driven to a area close to AUKE Lake to get our bikes etc. and then pedal our way up to the Glacier - if I recall correctly there is one short uphill section which as a recreational rider at that time I aced. We ended our bike ride at the Glacier - spent some time there and then were driven down to the Alaska Brewing Company where we got a tour of the brewery and a chance to taste a number of the products. As for the Tram - I did that on a different cruise - you get some fantastic views from the top - there are hiking trails up top that lead to a cross - I did that trip in May and there was still lots of snow up top but trails were packed down enough to be able to walk them. Hope this helps.
  8. One thing I experienced when I was in Juneau recently is that lineups for the Tram can occur very quickly - I was going to buy a ticket but nature called and after I took care of that I returned only to find that several bus loads of tourists had descended on the terminal - they were all part of a package for the glacier and tram - it would have been at least an hour to get to go up. So I gave up. Wonder if it might be better earlier on the day as the tours most likely will do Mendenhall first.
  9. On my recent Alaska cruise on the Koningsdam we had about 1600 passengers - capacity is around 2400.
  10. No inside info yet as we haven't had a training session yet. It will likely be like it was in previous years that you will enter and exit Canada Place via Howe Street and the tour buses etc. are likely to be on Hastings. Dennis
  11. As a volunteer at Canada Place on Canada Day I can confirm that that will be no fireworks and no parade this year - just lots of entertainment and good fun.
  12. The antigen rapid test are readily available at most drug stores and pharmacies BUT and it's a BIG BUT whether you would be able to get them is another matter. Here in BC the test kits are free to BC residents - when I got my first package of five we were limited to one package every twenty eight days - they were coded with our medical info. I went to get another package after I got back from my cruise and the pharmacy I went to said how many packages would you like - I took 2 - and no medical info was asked for. This leads me to believe that you could possibly just walk into a pharmacy - there is one in the food court mall across the street from the terminal. There are at least three more pharmacies within a four or five block radius of Canada Place - if they say no at one try another one - the government has paid for them not the pharmacy. Do you know anyone here in Vancouver who could get them for you. There is also the chance that your hotel may keep some on hand in case they have to start testing guests. Hope this helps and hope you enjoy our great city and your cruise. I can't answer the second part of your question regarding testing at disembarkation. Dennis
  13. There is a Rexall Drug Store in the Waterfront Center food court area - located across the street from the terminal. It is possible to reach that drug store without having to go outside. Hope this helps!
  14. That is what was explained to our group - we just off the Koningsdam this morning. Also as the crew usually share 4 to a room if one gets inflected they are moved to these cabins. I was on one side of the Q cabins and the rest of my friends were on the other side - had to use the aft elevators to get to my room.
