  1. I’m just off of Mariner & we were at Coco Cay 2 days ago. Symphony was also there & all beds/cabanas - everything was sold out. It was pretty full there - not much quiet anywhere that i could see. We headed back to solarium & that was the best choice by far for us. Quiet & only a few at the pool. we did a beach bed once before south beach was completed. others beds were pretty close and not very private. wished i hadn’t bought one to be honest. lesson learned
  2. Just off Mariner - no paper compass. Cabin stewards had them on their carts in the hallways i noticed. Just request a paper copy to be left each night. There were none in the racks outside guest services. No effect at all on me as the royal app was sufficient.
  3. I’m also onboard now & there were long lines for our shuttle to stop and drop bags to porters. Lots of vehicle traffic at terminal 5. If you are in a suite you will move through checkin quickly. I cannot speak for the others lines though. Our checkin time was 11 and we were onboard by 11:45. We had most all our materials pre printed which helps speed things up rather than searching through phones. Hope that helps.
  4. beachfront is an option in the email from Dudley for my Mariner cruise departing tomorrow
  5. Yes I actually had my bid accepted about 30 min AFTER I had to cancel the card I had on file for the royal up. Of course the day I get fraudulent charges my bid gets accepted! why wouldn’t it! lol Anyway I had 2 emails from Royal when I got off the phone with Discover Card that my Royal Up had been accepted however the card on file had been declined. There was a link to update the card. I updated the card and crossed my fingers & ended up still getting the royal up. I would change it to the card you want it - IMO it’s more about the amount of your bid/availability etc than what order your bid is in.
  6. I thought it was odd the email I got referenced booking Barefoot Beach Cabana in the cruise planner…
  7. Email i received from our concierge with barefoot cabana prices states 7 max persons. This is for july 4th on Mariner. Yes!! Prices have skyrocketed on the cabanas. I was in a barefoot OTW cabana this February and price was under $600. $1500 now for OTW - nah hard pass.
  8. Our bid was accepted on Wed. 6/15 for our Mariner sailing on 4th of July 🇺🇸 💥 JS to GS - not minimum bid. mid level.
  9. Totally understand… Alaska is an amazing place. By far our favorite cruise destination. On your previous trip did you take the train from Anchorage to Seward on the same day of boarding? It seems like there should be plenty of time since the train schedule shows an arrival in Seward at noon & the ship departs at 7 pm.
  10. I believe we went that exact day - June 10 in 2018. Layers! and a pair of good trail shoes or boots and Waterproof outer jacket. Weather can and did vary/change quite a bit in short amount at of time.
  11. I always find it humorous when I get the unsuccessful bid email the evening of boarding day.
  12. me too. also do you recall bartenders in schooner?
  13. I’m jealous… We are booked on Radiance for June 2023 Southbound. I’ll be following along. Did you fly into Anchorage and take the train to Seward?
  14. Depends on the kind of cabana as well. for example I booked an over the water cabana at nellies beach months ago for $584. Other types were cheaper. Just checked my planner and it is is showing $1499 🤯 now
